Rabbids Invasion: Mission to Mars is a feature-length animated TV special for the Rabbids Invasion cartoon series based on the Raving Rabbids, acting as the Grand Finale to the animated series after its fourth season on Netflix.

The film follows the bearded Rabbid, Scribbles (formerly known in the series as Lapinibernatus), who dreams of going to Mars to connect with its alien inhabitants. When he hears that Dr. Frank Nebula of Nebulous Industries plans to send Rabbids to Mars, supposedly to help make it inhabitable for humans, Scribbles volunteers for the program in hopes of having his dreams come true. At Nebulous Labs, Scribbles is accompanied by 3 other Rabbids, and befriends a human named Olivia, who wishes to help Scribbles achieve his lifelong dream, though as his journey progresses, Scribbles discovers that his mission may have a darker purpose.

The film was aired on Okoo and France Télévisions in September 2021, and released on Netflix in February 18, 2022.

Rabbids Invasion: Mission to Mars provides examples of:

• A Day in the Limelight: Both Scribbles and Mini were relatively minor characters in Rabbids Invasion, who usually only had the occasional episode dedicated to them, but in this film, Scribbles is upgraded to main character while Mini acts as one of his main allies.
• And I Must Scream: Just like in previous episodes of ‘’Rabbids Invasion‘’, when a Rabbid is frozen, they’re still kept alive and conscious, yet unable to speak or move.
  • When Olivia finally proves to Dr. Nebula that Scribbles is far smarter than all the other Rabbids, he responds by ordering John to freeze to freeze Scribbles alive. While John ultimately doesn’t go through with it, he still accidentally freezes Swimmer when Olivia confronts him.
  • After Scribbles and Mini reveal Dr. Nebula’s plans to the news, Olivia blasts him with one of his own freeze rays, leaving him in the same state he intended for Scribbles. Later on, it’s shown that Dr. Nebula’s frozen body is being used by the Rabbids as their personal piñata.
• Ascended Fanboy: Both John and the Martian King are shown to be huge fans of Sunny Love Beach, as well as its main character, Roger Peacock. By the end of the movie, both are invited by Roger Peacock himself to play as major characters in an episode, with John being Roger’s long-lost son, while the Martian King plays the role of a Monster of the Week.
• Asshole Victim: At the end of the film, Dr. Nebula gets frozen alive by Olivia, and is later seen being whacked around by the Rabbids like a piñata. Given that he had previously tried to wipe out all of Mars’ sapient alien life for profit, and only brought Rabbids in to use them as scapegoats for his crimes, he more than deserves it.
• Batman Can Breathe in Space: Just like in games as well as the animated series this movies connects to, the Rabbids have no trouble with breathing on Mars, or when they enter the dark vacuum of space.
• Big Bad: Dr. Frank Nebula, who is revealed to be planning to wipe out all Martians for profit.
• Chekhov's Gun:
  • When Mini desperately knocks the “terraforming device” out of Cosmo and Disco’s hands, it lands in the Martian King’s mouth, thus neutralizing the bomb’s power. This becomes important later when Dr. Nebula sends a barrage of missiles towards Mars, as the Martian King goes out of his way to eat the explosives before they can harm his people.
  • Likewise, when the Martian King first eats the “terraforming device”, it causes him to turn into a hulking mass of his former self, only to be cured when Dr. Frank Nebula’s message is cut off by an episode of Sunny Love Beach, which calms the Martian King down back to normal size. This is brought back in the climax as the Rabbids attempt to cure the King of his “Tummy Trouble”, by showing him a poster based on the show, and later by reenacting its intro, only for both attempts to be sabotaged by Dr. Nebula’s drones, forcing John to go to the show’s actual set to bring the show’s lead actor with him to finally calm the Martian King down again.
• Commonality Connection: Olivia decides to help put Scribbles on the mission to Mars since she herself always wanted help humanity explore the stars since her childhood.
• The Dog Bites Back: Dr. Nebula’s plans are ultimately foiled by the very team of Rabbids he brought to use as scapegoats for his crimes. Most notably, Scribbles, the very Rabbid he deliberately tried to prevent from going on the mission, having gone as far as to try having him frozen alive, decides to expose his damning speech to the news, thus destroying the bad doctor’s reputation, right before he’s frozen by Olivia and left to be whacked by the other Rabbids like a piñata forever.
• Eat the Bomb: Just before the “terraforming device” goes off, Mini manages to whack it into the Martian King’s mouth, causing him to mutate into a destructive mass that is only cured by the power of Sunny Love Beach. Later in the climax, the Martian King goes out of his way to eat the missiles that Dr. Frank Nebula sends at Mars, causing him to get much bigger, to the point where the Rabbids have to calm him down in order to prevent Earth’s destruction.
• Eldritch Transformation: Whenever the Martian King eats one of Dr. Nebula’s explosives intended for Mars, it causes him to mutate into a large, mindless, destructive version of himself that is only cured by watching Sunny Love Beach.
• Engineered Public Confession: After Dr. Frank Nebula intentionally sabotages the Rabbids’ attempts to save Earth from the mutated Martian King, he begins yelling at them for how they went against his goal of bombing Mars and reveals himself to have been trying to use them as scapegoats to avoid suspicion which Scribbles manages to use against him by pulling out a phone to record his ramblings to the news, causing Dr. Nebula to lose his public reputation.
• Evil All Along: The seemingly well-meaning scientist, Dr. Frank Nebula, is eventually revealed to be planning to bomb Mars to wipe out all martians, and intends to use the Rabbids as “the perfect scapegoats” to avoid suspicion.
• Faux Affably Evil: Despite Dr. Nebula’s claims of trying to better humanity by allowing them to inhabit Mars and how he “believes in the Rabbids” to make it come true, in actuality it’s merely to maintain his public image while he plans to bomb Mars with a “terraforming device” and pin the blame on the Rabbids due to their lower intellect. As the film goes on, Dr. Nebula slowly begins to lose his charismatic facade, further proving just how monstrous he truly is.
• Final Solution: As it’s soon revealed, Dr. Frank Nebula plans to bomb Mars with a “terraforming device”, which will wipe out all of the sapient Martians inhabiting it, so he can colonize the planet for profit.
• Foreshadowing: A lot of Frank Nebula’s behavior throughout the film, such as him seemingly ignoring Scribbles’ various displays of intelligence, starts to make a lot more sense with The Reveal that he actually intends to bomb Mars, and was actively disregarding Scribbles intellect so as to avoid putting him on the mission.
• Genki Girl: Disco is an energetic, party-loving Rabbid who always tries to connect with the other Rabbids, and goes out of her way to find an opportunity to dance, even when Scribbles doesn’t want to.
• Humans Are the Real Monsters: In a series revolving around insane, stupid bunnies, Dr. Frank Nebula proves to be the most evil character to appear in this continuity, with his ultimate plans being to wipe out all of the Martians, so he can colonize their planet for profit while intending to use the Rabbids as scapegoats.
• Karmic Death: Not so much “death”, and more of “Karmic Fate Worse than Death”, but near the end of the film, right after Dr. Nebula accidentally reveals his crimes to the news, he gets blasted with one of his own freeze rays by Olivia, leaving him conscious, yet unable to do anything, the same exact fate he intended to inflict upon Scribbles. Later at the island, it’s shown that Dr. Nebula’s frozen body is being whacked around by a couple Rabbids, the same creatures he was planning to use as scapegoats for his crimes.
• Kindhearted Simpleton: Just like in the show, many of the Rabbids themselves are shown to be quite ignorant, but still very kind towards each other. This especially applies to Disco, who, while largely obsessed with dancing, is genuinely sociable towards the other Rabbids, and tries to befriend Scribbles, even if he doesn’t enjoy her company.
  • John, having mellowed out extensively since his last appearances in the series, is shown to be quite calm towards his peers, and despite his obsession with Sunny Love Beach, is the first to notice Scribbles’ higher intellect over the other Rabbids.
  • The Martians are soon revealed to be simple-minded fellows who are no less obsessed with Sunny Love Beach than John. While Scribbles is initially distraught by this, seeing as he came to Mars in the first place because he wanted to connect with other creature of similar intellect, the Martian King decides to console him, telling him that “Just 'cause folks is different don't mean they're wrong.”
• The Leader: Scribbles acts as this to the rest of the Rabbid team, due to being the smartest of the bunch, as well as the one most excited to go to Mars.
• Martians: Since this is a film about going to Mars, it's only natural that the red planet is populated with alien life.
• Mask of Confidence: Cosmo is a bruised Rabbid whose head is covered in bandages and is first seen getting constantly injured. As a result, he’s shown to be incredibly shy and fearful until he’s given his own helmet, which significantly boosts his confidence, along with his ego.
• The Napoleon: Mini is the smallest Rabbid of the group, as a result of being shrunken down in a previous episode of Rabbids Invasion. Naturally, he’s treated by both the other Rabbids and the humans as a child, when he’s just as old as all the other Rabbids. Naturally, he shows much appreciation towards Scribbles since he’s the first Rabbid to actually treat him with respect.
• Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: As it’s soon revealed, Dr. Frank Nebula, who had previously claimed to be using the Rabbids to help make Mars inhabitable for humanity, was actually planning to bomb Mars to wipe out all of its alien life, and was only using the Rabbids so he could pin the blame on them for his crimes. If that wasn’t enough, he also tries to actively sabotage the Rabbids’ attempts to prevent Earth’s own destruction when the Martian King grows to immense size, further proving Dr. Nebula to have never cared for humanity in the first place.
• Nuke 'Em: Dr. Nebula secretly plans to use the "terraforming device", which is actually a giant bomb, to wipe out all of the Martians living on Mars for his own self gain.
• Obfuscating Stupidity: In order to get put on the mission, Scribbles is dressed up in Scuba’s clothes to replace him, and when one of the scientists grows suspicious of him, Scribbles decides to chatter goofily and do backstrokes on the floor, which convinces the scientist that he’s the real deal.
• The Reveal: Dr. Nebula's "terraforming device" is actually a bomb made to annihilate Mars' alien population for profit.
• Simple-Minded Wisdom: When Olivia and Scribbles go through Heroic BSoD from the latter being denied from going on the mission, John suggests “It’s never too late Olivia. I think you should give it a try,” which gives Olivia an idea of how to help get Scribbles back on the mission, even when John clarifies that he meant “I meant you should try watching Sunny Love Beach.”
• The Scapegoat: As Dr. Frank Nebula reveals in his Villainous Breakdown, he actually intended to use the Rabbids as scapegoats for his plans to bomb Mars, due to their lack of smarts making them the easiest creatures to pin the blame on for his crimes in his eyes.
• Show Within a Show: Sunny Love Beach is an in-universe television series starring the character of Roger Peacock, which John happens to be a huge fan of. The show soon becomes important, as it’s established as the only thing that can cure the Martian King of his “Tummy Trouble”.
• Third-Act Misunderstanding: When Olivia leaves a message for Scribbles to warn him of Dr. Nebula sending missiles to Mars, Disco cancels the message so she can put Sunny Love Beach back on, which causes Scribbles to angrily shout at Disco for doing so, thus making her start to break down in tears. Their relationship is only mended later in the climax, when Scribbles goes out of his way to encourage Disco to dance with him and the other Rabbids in order to calm the now mutated Martian King down.
• Trailers Always Spoil: The official trailer for the film on YouTube spoils almost the entire plot, including Dr. Nebula being Evil All Along, and the heroes needing to fight a mutated Martian King in the climax.
• Villainous Breakdown: After actively sabotaging the Rabbids’ attempts to save Earth from the mutated Martian King, Dr. Nebula angrily shouts at them for going against his plans to bomb Mars, which quickly comes to bite him in the ass when Scribbles uses a phone to record him on live television.
  Dr. Frank Nebula: You and your stupid friends had one job! Go to Mars and explode the mega bomb! SIMPLE!! I would have been the nice guy who believed in Rabbids, and you would have been the stupid rodents who blew everything up! NO ONE WOULD HAVE QUESTIONED THAT! You were the perfect SCAPEGOATS!
• Villain with Good Publicity: Dr. Nebula acts nice whenever he's being interviewed, and secretly keeps is plans to wipe Mars of all its alien life hidden from the public. This public image of his soon becomes broken when Scribbles streams his Villainous Breakdown to the local news, thus destroying his reputation.
