"Lost and Found" is a 2017 Australian Stop-Motion animated film produced by Screen Australia and Wabi Sabi studios.The short film focuses on a plush dinosaur trying to save his girlfriend, a plush fox from a well she fell into.
This short film contains examples of:
- Bittersweet Ending: The dinosaur manages to save the fox but at the cost of his life. However the fox is last seen attempting to sew him back together using two broken pieces of a stick.
- Determinator:
- The dinosaur will stop at nothing to save his girlfriend, even as he rapidly unwinds due to getting his thread stuck in a nail.
- After being rescued, the fox spends the whole night trying to sew the dinosaur back together despite blacking out from exhaustion in between sewing and having to start over after accidentally unwinding again him after fixing his tail.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: While dashing to save his girlfriend, the dinosaur briefly gets a piece of his thread stuck in a loose nail but manages to free himself. He ends up getting it stuck again and ends up completely unraveling by the time he gets to the well.
- My Life Flashed Before My Eyes : As the dinosaurs head rapidly unravels, it imagines all the good times it had with the fox before it unravels completely.
- Heroic Sacrifice: The Dinosaur despite being reduced to a head and a single leg by the time it reaches through the door leaps to the foxes rescue despite known it will be completely unraveled by then although the Fox begins to sew him back together afterwards.
- "Ray of Hope" Ending: The dinosaur is reduced to a pile of wool and stuffing after running to save its girlfriend from a well while having a piece of his thread stuck to a nail, however immediately after bring rescued the fox immediately begins sewing his body back together, even if it takes a long time to do so.
