A for Angel is a short pilot by Chime Merra that aired as part of Cartoon Network's revived Cartoon Cartoons brand.
The premise involves a demon named Clementine who wanders into an angel class. Desperate to prove herself, Clementine decides to attend the classes over her demon classes.
The pilot aired on January 26, 2026, and was subsequently uploaded to the official Warner Bros. Television YouTube channel.

Tropes
- Benevolent Demon: In contrast to her demon classmates, Clementine doesn't have an inch of evil in her. She is quick to jump at the opportunity to attend an angelic class when it is granted to her.
- Big Guy, Little Guy: A female example: Ray is the tallest among her angel classmates while Clementine is the shortest of the demons to the point of being mocked for it. The two of them are paired up to help a human.
- Bizarrchitecture: The school where the story takes place is shaped like a pair of wings, a black demon wing on one side, a white angel wing on the other.
- Brick Joke: Multiple parts in the pilot have Clementine point out that she is unable to breathe fire. At the very end, Clementine accidentally breaths fire in excitement over being allowed to attend Angel Class.
- Chekhov's Gag: During the angel class, the teacher tells the angels not to harm a living being, prompting Ray to ask about a bug that's about to harm somebody using a mosquito as an example, prompting the teacher to explain compromise. During her and Clementine's session, Clementine almost gets attacked by a mosquito before Ray grabs it and saves her. Clementine even convinces Ray and the human to spare the mosquito and tells it to find somebody else to suck blood from, thus providing a lesson in compromise.
- Do Not Call Me "Paul": Ray hates being called "Radiant". She states as much to Clementine.
- Embarrassing Nickname: Clementine is frequently referred to by her demon classmates as "Fruitfly" due to her short stature.
- Fridge Logic: In-Universe, Ray apparently has a tendency to ask questions like this, like asking if hurting a bug that's about to harm a person is okay when the teacher says that the angels shouldn't harm living beings.
- Good Angel, Bad Angel: Clementine's first assignment in angel class is to act as an angel for a human while Ray acts as the devil. The reversal of roles gets lampshaded by the human girl.
- Good Wings, Evil Wings: The shape of the school building invokes this, with the two literal wings of the school resembling a jagged black and red bat wing on the left and a smooth white and blue angel wing on the right.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite not taking angel class seriously and being rather condesending, Ray does show to have a caring side as she saves Clementine from a mosquito and pitches in on the human's team name.
- Lazy Bum: It's clear that Ray doesn't exactly want to be there. She puts in minimal effort in the exercise she is given to do with Clementine.
- Mystical White Hair: The angel teacher's hair is white, emphasizing his angelic nature.
- No Name Given: Neither of the teachers is given a name throughout the short. Even the credits just list them as "Head Angel" and "Devil Teacher". Likewise, the girl Clem and Ray help is just listed as "Human Girl".
- Sadist Teacher: As to be expected, the demon teacher shows to take pleasure in putting Clementine down, mocking her for not being on par with the other demons and laughing at the idea of Clementine being able to pull of angel work to the point of outright saying that she fully expects Clementine to fail.
- Serious Business: For her first assignment, Clementine has to help a girl with a serious moral dilemma: coming up with a name for the school's sports team. Ray notes how important the decision is.
- Visual Pun: The school where Clementine and Ray go has a demon wing and an angel wing. Here, the concept of building wings is taken literally, with the demon wing looking like a bat's wing and the angel wing looking like a white bird's wing.
