The start of something NEW...note
Our New World
is a webcomic created by Nerdiest Alpaca, started in 2025. It is a Slice of Life series centered around an Ensemble Cast of six Funny Animal Gal Pals in the near-futuristic utopian metropolis of Neo Pawprint City, exploring their "new world" of post-college adult life.
Our New World provides examples of:
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Most of the main cast.
- Rhonda with her hairbow and scarf.
- Penelope with her necklace and boots.
- Berry with her shoes.
- Jennifer with her vest.
- Georgette with her sunglasses and various jewlery
- Amateur Therapist: Moreso "aspiring" than "amateur", but applies to Berry nonetheless.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: The cast of the comic is very colorful, with the main cast each being one hue of the rainbow.
- Cast of Expies: The comic started as a Massive Multiplayer Crossover Fanfic work before shifting to an original cast. Of the main gals:
- Rhonda and Penelope were originally Roxie and Jade from Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own.
- Berry and Jennifer were originally Honey and Elsa from HouseBroken.
- Georgette and Shiori were originally Velvet and Tianhuo from Them's Fightin' Herds.
- Delightful Dragon: One of the main characters, Shiori, is a dragon. She's as normal a citizen of the city as anyone else.
- Dogs Are Dumb: Downplayed. Jennifer is rather eccentric at times, but she isn't stupid.
- Interspecies Romance: Two examples in the main cast:
- Rhonda the sheep with Penelope the bat.
- Berry the fox with Jennifer the dog.
- The Marvelous Deer: Georgette is a deer who comes from a wealthy family and peppers her speech with Gratuitous French.
- Mature Animal Story: Despite the very cute and cuddly appearance, the comic's sense of humor can get downright raunchy at times. The very first strip◊ was a BDSM joke.
- Official Couple: As stated above, Rhonda with Penelope and Berry with Jennifer.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Applies to the entire cast, but particularly Rhonda, a perpetually-positive Genki Girl sheep.
- Shout-Out: In the strip “Scheme◊”, Jennifer is seen holding a blowtorch and a jar of peanut butter, a reference to the first episode of Phineas and Ferb.
- Sweet Sheep: Rhonda, the de-facto main protagonist of the comic.
- Through a Face Full of Fur: Rhonda and Penelope are both seen blushing through their fur in the first strip.
- World of Funny Animals: Neo Pawprint City, and the surrounding world, is populated entirely by sapient, mostly-quadrupedal animals.
