The Last Guest: Reimagined is a 2026 animated Roblox war-drama series created by ConvexHD and XerocHD. It is a reimagining of ObliviousHD's 2017 web film series The Last Guest, expanding its story with a new continuity, additional characters, more detailed worldbuilding, and a considerably darker depiction of the conflict between the Guests and the Bacon Liberation Front.
The story follows Guest 1337, one of the last surviving Guests in Robloxia. As a child, he is forced to conceal his blue Guest hair beneath a hood and use the name "Michael" to avoid persecution. After the Bacon General murders his parents, Guest is placed in an orphanage, where he grows up alongside his closest friends Matt and Daisy.
Years later, Guest and Daisy have married and started a family. When the Bacon General escapes prison and resumes his campaign against the Guests, Guest and Matt enlist in the Army of Robloxia. There, they reunite with figures from their childhood and become caught in a war that threatens everyone Guest has left.
The project is planned to consist of four acts:
- Act 1: The Origin — Released May 9, 2026.
- Act 2: The Prodigy — To be announced.
- Act 3: The Uprising — To be announced.
- Act 4: The Great War — To be announced.
Only The Origin has presently been released, so all examples currently refer to that act.
This work provides examples of:
- Adaptational Expansion: The original opening film ran for approximately twenty-two minutes. The Origin expands the same general portion of the story into an eighty-eight-minute film, adding Guest's school life, his time at the orphanage, his relationship with Daisy, Simon and Zane's backgrounds, military training, and a much longer battle sequence.
- Adaptational Sympathy:
- Simon is changed from a fairly straightforward childhood bully into an abused and emotionally lost young man who regrets his behavior, joins the army searching for purpose, reconciles with Guest, and ultimately sacrifices himself.
- Zane remains an antagonist, but his prejudice and aggression are shown to have been instilled in him by his father and the Bacon organization from childhood.
- The Atoner: Simon apologizes to Guest for bullying him and ultimately gives his life protecting him.
- Arc Words: "Be strong. Always be strong." Guest's father repeatedly tells him this, and the words continue motivating Guest long after his parents' deaths. Guest later passes the same advice on to Charlotte.
- Author Avatar: Matt retains the appearance and identity associated with ObliviousHD, the creator of the original series.
- Berserk Button: Simon insulting Daisy after learning that she married Guest causes Guest to immediately throw him to the ground.
- Big Bad: The Bacon General, leader of the Bacon Liberation Front and the man personally responsible for murdering Guest's parents.
- Bittersweet Ending: The Bacon General is defeated and much of Guest's unit survives, but Simon and Zane are killed, Matt is seriously injured, and Guest is presumed dead. Daisy and Charlotte are left mourning him, though the absence of a recovered body leaves his true fate uncertain.
- Bookends: The film opens with Guest remembering a childhood fishing trip with his father. His final letter to Charlotte returns to that memory and explains how his father's death inadvertently led him to the friends and family he came to cherish.
- Break the Cutie: Guest begins as a shy but hopeful child. He witnesses both of his parents being murdered, is left orphaned, faces discrimination because of his identity, and later has to leave his own wife and daughter to fight in a war.
- Bully Turned Buddy: Simon goes from tormenting Guest during childhood to fighting beside him, apologizing for his past behavior, and sacrificing himself to save him.
- Childhood Friend Romance: Guest and Daisy meet as children, remain close while growing up at Abby's orphanage, and eventually marry.
- Childhood Friends:
- Guest, Matt, and Daisy form an inseparable trio after Guest is orphaned.
- Simon and Zane were once genuinely close friends before ending up on opposite sides of the war.
- Combat Medic: Molly serves as the executive combat medic attached to Sergeant Jacobs' unit.
- Composite Character: Zane combines aspects of the original childhood bullies with the scarred Bacon Elite Guard. His childhood fight with Guest explains how he received the scar.
- Continuity Reboot: The film follows the basic premise of the original series but rewrites its history, character relationships, villains, and sequence of events rather than fitting into its existing continuity.
- Darker and Edgier: Compared with the original opening film, Reimagined places considerably more emphasis on anti-Guest discrimination, abusive households, grief, wartime trauma, and the deaths of ordinary soldiers.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Sergeant Jacobs introduces himself by aggressively intimidating and mocking the recruits. He is ultimately a comparatively fair version of the archetype, explicitly refusing to tolerate bigotry within his unit.
- Everyone Has Standards: Even before his redemption, Simon is disturbed when Zane continues violently attacking Guest after discovering his identity and tells him that he has gone too far.
- Fantastic Racism: Much of Robloxia is divided by hatred between Bacons and Guests. Guest must hide his hair and use a false name, while the Bacon Liberation Front seeks to completely exterminate his people.
- Foreshadowing:
- Simon attempting to stop Zane from taking their childhood fight too far establishes that he is not as cruel as he initially appears.
- Zane's fear of his father discovering that he lost to a Guest foreshadows both his father's extremism and Zane's eventual place in the Bacon army.
- Freudian Excuse:
- Simon explains that his aggression developed while growing up in an abusive household where he felt unwanted.
- Zane was subjected to military training and Bacon supremacist beliefs by his father from an early age.
- Happily Married: Guest and Daisy have a loving marriage and are raising Charlotte together before the Bacon General's escape forces Guest to leave for the army.
- Heel–Face Turn: Simon reconciles with Guest and becomes one of the soldiers who helps protect him during the final battle.
- Heroic Sacrifice: After being fatally shot, Simon detonates a grenade beside himself and Zane, preventing Zane from pursuing Guest and giving Guest time to escape.
- Last of His Kind: Guest is believed to be the last Guest still living freely in Robloxia.
- Meaningful Echo: Simon and Zane's final encounter echoes a childhood memory in which Simon asked whether they would always be best friends and Zane answered, "Right."
- Military Maverick: When Sergeant Jacobs orders a retreat, Guest ignores him after seeing Matt critically wounded and charges into the Bacon forces alone. He succeeds in defeating most of the remaining soldiers and the General, but nearly dies in the process.
- Never Found the Body: Guest is declared dead and given a memorial after disappearing in an explosion, despite his body apparently never being recovered.
- Parental Abandonment: Simon reveals that he received little genuine love or support from his parents, contributing to his hostile childhood behavior.
- Parental Substitute: Abby provides Guest, Matt, and Daisy with a home at her orphanage after they lose or become separated from their parents.
- The Power of Friendship: Matt and Daisy help Guest begin recovering from his parents' deaths by sharing their own painful experiences and assuring him that they will always support one another.
- Redemption Equals Death: Simon completes his redemption by dying to protect Guest shortly after finally making peace with him.
- The Reveal: Simon knocking away Guest's hood exposes his blue hair, revealing to Zane that "Michael" is actually a Guest.
- Shout-Out:
- Sergeant Jacobs' introduction and treatment of the recruits deliberately evoke Sergeant Hartman from Full Metal Jacket.
- Simon's military storyline and redemption were influenced by Smitty Ryker from Hacksaw Ridge.
- Simon asking Zane, "We're best friends, right?" references a similar exchange in Jujutsu Kaisen.
- Taking the Heat: Matt falsely claims that he was responsible for cutting Zane's face, preventing Guest from being expelled and potentially having his identity exposed.
- Time Skip: The story follows Guest from childhood through his years at the orphanage, his marriage to Daisy, Charlotte's birth, and his eventual military service.
- Training Montage: Guest, Matt, Simon, and the other recruits are put through an obstacle course at Fort Blox before being deployed.
- Tragic Villain: Zane is a violent Bacon soldier, but he was indoctrinated and trained by his extremist father from childhood. His final moments show that he still remembers and cares about Simon despite everything that separated them.
- Trauma Conga Line: Guest loses his parents, is sent to an orphanage, endures anti-Guest persecution, leaves his family to fight, watches several comrades die, sees Matt critically injured, and is nearly killed defeating the General.
- Unstoppable Rage: Seeing Matt badly wounded sends Guest charging through the Bacon forces despite the order to retreat, cutting down nearly everyone between him and the General.
- War Is Hell: Once Guest's division reaches the front, the story largely abandons any glamorous view of military service. Soldiers on both sides are killed suddenly, the surviving troops sleep inside bomb craters, and several childhood relationships end in tragedy.
- Would Hurt a Child: The Bacon General attempts to murder Guest when he is still a child after killing both of his parents.
- You Shall Not Pass!: Guest's father attacks and restrains the Bacon General, knowing he is badly outmatched, to give his wife and son enough time to flee.
