Dana Scully: Yes.
Kourtney: That's embarrassing.
The Kardasims are a series of spoofs based on Kardashian family, created by SIMGM Productions. As one would expect from the name, the videos are made using The Sims 2, albeit with custom content and clothing to make the sims look more realistic.
The series follows Kim, Khloé and Kourtney, three dangerously air-headed sisters whose ignorance causes chaos wherever they do. From time to time, their family will also be featured.
You can find them on the SIMGM's YouTube channel here
and on their dedicated YouTube page here
.
This series contains examples of:
- Accidental Misnaming:
- Happens often with the main three sisters, along with Malaproper and Mondegreen Gag.
- Caitlin remembers Rob's girlfriend Blac Chyna as Blue California.
- Affectionate Nickname: Khloé sometimes calls Rob her "beautiful baby brother", but this is usually during forgetting his existence.
- Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe respectively.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: Kourtney is implied to be this. She's the most intelligent of the three sisters and apparently has a knack for stealing. But she's too lazy to do anything with her smarts.
- Butt-Monkey:
- Kim is often ignored and insulted by her sisters, especially Kourtney. Oftentimes, Kourtney will blatantly steal her sister's ideas, to the approval of Khloé and the chagrin of Kim.
- Rob is always forgotten about or othered. Caitlyn implies that she blames it on him dating "Blue California".
- Their mother, Kris is an even worse example. She's one of the nicest characters on the show, but her innocuous or downright pleasant comments will be interpreted as rude and insulting by others, causing them to lash out at her. The only ones not to pick on her are Rob and Caitlyn, and even then they'll say she's going too far.
- Cardi B usually serves as one in her appearances.
- While Ron Weasley is usually the Butt Monkey in the Harry Potter franchise, this distinction goes to Hermione Granger, of all people, in the Kardasims parodies of the first three books/films.
- Catchphrase Insult: Khloe's go-to insult is "stupid bitch", saying it at least once in almost every episode.
- Crossing the Desert: One episode has the sisters stranded on the side of the road after their car breaks down. They cross the desert in the hopes of finding civilization. Subverted as, they were just wandering someone's back property, not the desert itself.
- Cast Full of Rich People: Obviously, given how the main cast consists of the Kardasims.
- Deadpan Snarker: Kourtney always speaks in a monotone and is the most sarcastic of the sisters.
- Dull Surprise:
- Kourtney. Again, she's always monotone and unexpressive.
- Rob also never speaks above a monotone.
- Emotionless Girl: Kourtney, as explained above. Kylie also qualifies.
- Enraged by Idiocy: Ironically, the sisters. They can tell when the others are saying something stupid and will react accordingly.
- Freudian Trio: Khloe is the Id, Kim the ego and Kourtney the superego.
- Game Show Host: Mariah Carey is the host for multiple game shows all based around contestants trying out different jobs (such as being doctors or police officers).
- Genius Ditz: Kim. World's Worst Doctor featured a competition to determine which of the three sisters is the best doctor. Kim, despite being the most clueless of the trio, turns out to be an incredible surgeon. She chalks this up to having performed surgery for her employees "many times," but doesn't elaborate further.
- Rich Bitch: The leads are rude and self-centered, but Khloé is quicker to anger and insults. It's rare for an episode to go by without her calling someone a stupid bitch.
- Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: A few episodes have them deal with problems normal people have, like doing laundry, buying groceries, or living like normal people for a day. Naturally, they mess up every single time.
- Ripped from the Headlines: A staple of SIMGM's shows, many of the Kardasim episodes are based on real events, such as the three sisters at Area 51
, the sisters being forced into quarantine after their mother catches a deadly virus, and Kylie's weird video of her posing in lingerie in front of a green-screen. - Rule of Three: Company names are often one word repeated three times. For example, we have Kim's "Glow Glow Glow" and Kourtney's "No No No". This extends to companies owned by people other than the Kardasims though as there was a pizza place called "Pizza Pizza Pizza".
- Running Both Sides: After an egg gets more likes than her
, Kylie becomes paranoid and begins to suspect that people in her family are the egg, or working for the egg to conspire against her. As it turns out, Kylie is the one behind the egg all along, because she was already at the top and wanted to be on the top twice. - The Un-Favorite: Rob is the forgotten sibling among the Kardasims, though this is less out of maliciousness and more out of ignorance. For what it's worth, Khloé seems to consider herself his Cool Big Sis, even if she mistreats him like she does everyone else.
- Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: Most of the family get a moment like this, specifically the main three sisters.
- Verbal Tic:
- Caitlin tends to add "babe" to the end of her sentences.
- Lana often begins her sentences with "spiritually".
- Vocal Evolution: Kourtney and Khloe's voices are similar to Kim's voice in "Soda Drama". Kourtney's voice is also noticeably more emotive.
