NinNin Days (Alternate Title: NinNinDays) is a Visual Novel by Qureate Co. Ltd and iMel Inc. it is the second installment in the Days Series.
The game casts you as a someone living in Akihabara, Japan. You have a pretty comfortable life. You have a part-time job and are able to make enough to get by. One night in summer, you're walking home after purchasing some meat buns, when you run into an odd girl wearing a floral-print bikini and a skirt. You don't think much of it and continue on your way... then you find her passed out on the street some time later, and revive her by giving her the rest of your half-eaten meat bun.
The girl introduces herself as Sumire, a ninja who's come to the city to fulfill the assignment of serving a master. Since you gave her your meat bun, she now feels indebted to you and has dubbed you her master. As part of you being her master, she has decided she'll be living in your home with you. Thus begins the story.
The game was released on August 18th, 2019.
It later got a sequel, NinNin Days 2, released on November 18th, 2021, serving as the sixth and last installment of the Days series. In it, you play as a connivence store cashier who, after serving Sumire and her fiancée and jealously wishing he had a girlfriend himself, comes across two ninja girls attempting to steal food and confronts them about it. Once that incident ends, he goes back home... to find those same girls, Suzuran (or "the Dark Fallen Angel Ninja, Black Bell" as she calls herself) and Kikyo, have made themselves at his home. They have some sort of secret mission they are carrying out where they have to defeat a ninja from a rival clan, and feel his house would make a perfect hiding spot. Now the protagonist just might get what he wished for...
NinNin Days contains examples of:
- Hello, [Insert Name Here]: You need to name your character before starting the game.
- Lethal Chef: Sumire’s attempts at cooking are pleasing enough for a few seconds, then it winds up tasting horrible to the protagonist. He can either eat it anyway and suffer to spare her feelings, or claim he isn’t feeling hungry.
- Multiple Endings: There are three endings after Chapter 6, with the split happening after has to return back to her village now that she has completed her ninja training and leaves a letter of apology to the protagonist.
- Ending 1: Sumire comes back to the protagonist, intending to begin her bride training with him.
- Ending 2: The protagonist finds Sumire at her village and decides to continue being her master there.
- Bad Ending: Sumire is truly gone and the protagonist spends his life looking for her to no avail.
- Ninja: Sumire states she's one. She even shows off some ninjutsu near the start of the story for good measure.
- One-Word Title: With the alternate title, NinNinDays.
- Playing with Fire: Sumire can perform a fire jutsu, which has her shoot fire from her mouth.
- Plot-Irrelevant Villain: About halfway through, a rival ninja attacks Sumire, leading to a fight scene. He is beaten and flees, serving no role in the plot outside that.
- Production Throwback: In the city CG, there is a big advertisement for Qureate's previous visual novel, NekoMiko, on a building.
- Stripperific: Sumire's outfit is made up of a purple and white floral print bikini, skirt, scarf, hair bow, leggings, and shoes.
- Summon Magic: Sumire has the power to summon mice. She can do dogs, but she's too scared of them to do so.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Sumire is afraid of dogs. It stems from when she was training a ninken, stepped on its tail, and got bit on the hand.
NinNin Days 2 contains examples of:
- Bound and Gagged: Suzuran challenges the protagonist to do this to her so she can demonstrate how fast she can untie herself. Then she does it to Kikyo, whose clothes slip off and turn the whole thing into a bondage fanservice scene.
- Boyfriend Bluff: In the aquarium branch where the protagonist chooses to meet up with Kikyo, he says this to get two sleazy guys to stop hitting on Kikyo.
- Cat Girl: The two ninja girls transform into cosplays resembling this when showing off their transformation arts, to Suzuran’s embarrassment.
- Continuity Cavalcade: As the last entry in the series, it makes references to just about every other entry except Kukkoro Days.
- Sumire from the first NinNin Days is a major character.
- The shrine from NekoMiko comes up as a location a few times.
- Suzuran is made to cosplay in an outfit resembling Lovelia's from Trouble Days.
- A billboard advertising Tsubaki, the titular idol of Idol Days, can be seen at one point.
- Does Not Like Spam: Suzuran dislikes tomatoes, which becomes a problem when she orders minestrone soup at Wonder Dream without knowing what’s in it.
- The Dog Bites Back: Literally when Suzuran attacks a dog at the shrine as part of her Chuunibyou playing; it attacks her and bites her on the ass.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Suzuran attacks a dog at the shrine, and is promptly attacked, painfully bitten, and humiliated for it. Her attempts to chase it down for revenge just end with her tiring herself out for nothing.
- Let's You and Him Fight: The main conflict turns out to be a case of this; Suzuran and Kikyo spend the plot hunting down Sumire believing she's the ninja who blinded the former's brother, when it's revealed that a member of a third clan that wanted to cause a war between them used a transformation art to impersonate her.
- Multiple Endings: Four, occurring after the conflict with Sumire has been resolved and the two girls tell the protagonist to meet the one he loves most at the amusement park:
- Bad Ending: The protagonist arrives too late and does not get to see either of the girls, so they leave back to their village with only a goodbye letter for him.
- Suzuran Ending & Kikyo Ending: The protagonist chooses either of the two girls and takes her home; afterwards, the two of them become a liason for the village, regularly reporting on happenings there, and the rejected girl remains friends with them.
- Suzuran & Kikyo Ending: Only available after getting both individual endings, the two girls come back to the protagonist's house before he can make his choice and both enter a relationship with them. They are assigned to manage a hotel that will serve as a training ground for ninja and report on any happenings in the city, and while the others don't exactly approve of their unusual relationship, the trio is happy.
- Omega Ending: Unlike NekoMiko, the Marry Them All end only unlocks when you have gotten the individual endings of the love interests first.
- Production Throwback: The city CG contains a poster of Livestream: Escape from Hotel Izanami.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Suzuran, in contrast to the flirtatious Kikyo, is deeply embarrassed by all the fanservicey situations she keeps getting into.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: When Kikyo first sees the protagonist in his house, it’s after she’s out of the shower, and she’s only embarrassed about her hair being wet; once she dries it, she shows zero embarrassment about her naked body being fully uncovered in front of him. Then she wants to tell him his measurements and the color of her and Suzuran’s panties, offers to "pay" for their stay with their bodies, and spends the rest of the story being as sexual as she can around him.
- The Tease: Kikyo goes from Shameless Fanservice Girl to this, always flirting with the protagonist whenever she can and teasing Suzuran about the protagonist's sexual interest in her.
- Thanks for the Mammary: The protagonist bumps into Sumire at the cosplay shop and accidentally gets his hand on her boob.
- Two Aliases, One Character: It's revealed halfway through that Sumire, the love interest of the first game, is the rival ninja that Suzuran and Kikyo were sent to hunt down.
