This game provides examples of:
- All There in the Manual: Lore about the setting and Valiants is limited in-game and is mostly relegated to YouTube descriptions.
- Alternate Universe: The game apparently takes place in a world similar to ours, given that the game is taking place in the American continent, except it is inhabited by Anthropomorphic animals.
- Ammo Resupply: Stacks of ammunition are found throughout the maps for players to restock should they be running low. Vlad's signature ability allows him to quickly set up a shield which doubles as a resupply station for him and his teammates.
- Blue Is Heroic: Valiants and Area's marked by a blue icon indicate that these are on your side/under your teams control, regardless if you are attacking or defending.
- Character Class System: The playable characters are divided into four sub-classes: Assault, Scout, Expert and Support.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience:
- Teams are coloured as Red or Blue. Area's coloured Blue are under the player teams control, whereas the coloured area's are under control by the opposing team.
- Friendly teammates have a blue or yellow icon above their heads. A yellow icon indicates that a teammate is in your squad and can be spawned to upon respawning (only if they are out of combat) or revive a downed player regardless if they are playing as a medic or not.
- Marquez's poison abilities will leave a red residue that damages a player on contact if she is on the opposing team, if the poison attack was used by a Marquez on the same team as the player, these will instead be coloured green and a player can safely walk through these unharmed.
- An air strike will be indicated by a bright red ring if delivered by the enemy team, whereas it will be a golden colour if it is from a friendly player and do no damage to players on the same team.
- Deadly Remote Control Toy: Uly's tactical ability has him launch the "Ulymobile", a bomb on wheels that he can remotely control and direct towards enemies. After activating his Ultimate, he can launch a bigger Ulymobile to cause a bigger explosion and more damage. Neither of the Ulymobiles are bulletproof and can be prematurely detonated by taking enough damage.
- Death from Above: The Ultimate abilities for several valiants involve an attack launched from the sky.
- Jack's Ultimate ability allows him to summon an artillery strike on a target.
- Marquez's Ultimate ability "Toxin Lockdown" allows her to fire a chemical strike which will cover a targeted area and do incremental damage to any opponents caught in the attack.
- Zhenshan's Ultimate Ability "Precision Strike" allows him to deploy a mortar which drops a powerful bomb onto a targeted area of the map. Uniquely to the rest of the valiants, this ultimate ability can be charged up to three times allowing Zhenshan to target multiple areas for extra damage to the enemy team.
- Fast Tunnelling: Uly's signature move allows him to quickly dig a hole underground leaving a visible dirt bulge showing his location before he emerges. Notably he is not bulletproof in this state. He also leaves behind a beacon when he emerges which works as a respawn point for teammates, this beacon is also not bulletproof and can be destroyed by enemy gunfire.
- Friendly Fireproof: Allied players are immune to friendly fire.
- Furry Female Mane: Downplayed; the female Valiants all have human-like hair, but most of the males (excluding Jack and Zhenshan) also have this feature.
- The Ghost: One of the loading screens states: "Years later, facing Lian Hua, Marquez will recall the distant afternoon when she first met Hongying.'' No character named Lian Hua has debuted in Wild Assault as of this writing. Supplementary materials establish Lian Hua as a scientist who is the mother of Hongying and a mentor of Marquez.
- Gun Accessories: Leveling up the Valiants unlocks various attachments for their weapons, including scopes for improved accuracy, barrels that enhance range or damage, and extended magazines for increased ammo capacity.
- Hazard Attack: Marquez specialises in poisonous chemical attacks which leave behind a hazardous area of effect and do incremental damage to any opponents caught in the attack. These dissipate after a short time but can allow players to do extra damage and force an opponent out of hiding.
- Hero Shooter: The game features handcrafted Anthropomorphic animal heroes called "Valiants", each with their own personality and unique abilities. The gameplay is a mix of a Hero Shooter and with some Battlefield gameplay thrown in.
- Hold the Line: One of the two game modes, Raid; requires one team to defend the control points in each area; whereas the attacking team must capture all the control points on a map. Should the attackers claim all the control points in an area, the defending team must fall back into their safe territory to protect their remaining control points. The attacking team score gradually depletes when a teammate is killed but will reset when the defenders are forced to fall back to a safe zone. The game is over when either the attackers hold all the control points on a map or the defenders successfully repel the attackers until they have exhausted their remaining points.
- Jiggle Physics: The female Valiants have noticeable bounciness on their breasts. Jiggle physics are also noticeable on Zhenshan's belly.
- MacGuffin: An object known as the "Feral Relic". From what is told in lore and text, it is an energy source that is highly sought after due to it's economic and research benefits.
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The Valiants are composed of mercenaries with shady/dark pasts, most of whom are fighting for their personal reasons: Ryan is a gangster-turned-cop who's out to make a name for himself, Uly is driven purely by profit and has no qualms about the morally gray tasks he's hired to do and Akai Hime is an assassin working undercover as a secret agent within the Desolate Legion for reasons unknown.
- Respawn Point: Areas under the players team's control can be respawned from upon revival. Each map will also have one area on either side of the map with a respawn point that is always available and can't be captured by the opposing team. Respawning players can also spawn to the exact location of a squadmate provided they aren't in combat or haven't been downed.
- Uly's signature ability allows him to leave behind a beacon that acts as a respawn point for teammates.
- Regenerating Health: After a few seconds of taking damage, players will gradually start regenerating health until the health bar is maxed out. Receiving healing from a medic will speed up this process.
- Running on All Fours: A unique sprint mechanic, as if to remind the players that the characters are Anthropomorphic animals, has the Valiants running on all fours.
- Sniper Scope Glint: A variant; a faint outline can be seen around Jack's head should the player be in his line of sight.
- Unnecessary Combat Roll:
- Averted for Hongying; her signature ability is a combat roll which allows her to quickly ambush an opponent or escape to a safe position, making this a useful tactic for her in either offensive or defensive strategies.
- Parodied for Zhenshan regarding his sprint mechanic. Instead of Running on All Fours like the other valiants, he rolls everywhere.
- World of Funny Animals: The entire cast consists of anthropomorphic animals shooting the crap out of each other in multiplayer arenas.
