Super Farm

Go To

Created by Asobo Studio in 2003 for the PS2 Super Farm is a strange little title that is mainly comprised of a large collection of minigames played across various stages. Gameplay is frantic and players must compete against each other or the computer in tests of skill, speed and ruthlessness to come out on top. Levels are generally pretty short and comprise a small area filled with platforms and various power ups to give characters an edge along with many environmental objects and hazards that can also be interacted with. There is also a more straightforward campaign mode to give a bit more detail on the characters and locations as well.

The story opens up on a small farm with a group of lonely male animals (Sketch the Rabbit, Oinker the Pig, Cooper the Rooster and Chop-Fu the Goat) stuck without any sort of female companionship. Cue the arrival of a sexy young hen named Pamela who immediately grabs the boys attention and leaves them stricken with immense infatuation. From there the male player character animals must compete with each other in various tasks to win Pamela's affections or rescue her from danger. As things slowly escalate from there the silly group of animals soon finds themselves travelling all around the countryside in increasingly outlandish and dangerous situations as they try to win the heart of their beloved hen.

In the game of romance its winner take all and there's no room here for second place...

Super Farm contains examples of:

  • Animal Superheroes: All of the main cast (save Pamela) are this, or at least dressed for the part with their bright and colorful costumes. Oddly, while each character has their own unique stats they seem to have little in the way of actual superpowers save for maybe Super-Strength and toughness.
  • Anvil on Head: Anvils are a common weapon item on many stages and can be used to flatten rival characters.
  • Funny Animal: The entire cast are a collection of silly farm animals that get up to several cartoonish antics in their never-ending quest to one up each other across the various levels.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: Pamela has a rather noticeable pair despite being a hen. They even feature mild Jiggle Physics in a few scenes... no wonder all the male animals want to impress her so badly!
  • Shovel Strike: Shovels are yet another attack item that can be used to smack around the rival players in many of the battle stages.
  • Teeth Flying: Hitting rival characters in many combat stages will result in this. The player can then collect the knocked out teeth to score points.
  • Toilet Humor: Almost as much as Conker's Bad Fur Day which is really saying something! One memorable instance involves a scene where Pamela eats too much and runs to a nearby outhouse to drop the queen mother of all shits only to find that she's now trapped without any toilet paper. Cue an entire level where the animals have to capture and bring her live kittens for her to wipe her butt with. Yuck.
  • Traintop Battle: One level is set on top of a moving train (and the roofs of a few other nearby vehicles) running along a stretch of highway.
