Scooby-Doo Mystery is a game in the Scooby-Doo franchise, developed by Argonaut Software and published by Acclaim for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System on November 1995. Where the Sega Genesis version is an Adventure Game taking place over two mysteries, this version is a platformer with adventure game elements over four mysteries. Each of the levels feature two bonus games, one in each kitchen area where Scooby balances whatever food Shaggy finds in the refrigerator to make as big a sandwich as possible, and one where Shaggy plays a whack-a-mole style game to hit monsters with a mallet as they appear.
This game contains examples of:
- Amusement Park of Doom: The second level has the Mystery Gang visiting a funfair called Bing Bong Bros that is overtaken by a ghost clown.
- Bag of Spilling: Items you collect in the levels like weapons will vanish once you finish it.
- Blob Monster: The Tar Monster (not the same one from "The Scooby-Doo Show") is the main bad guy of the third level.
- Falling Damage: Scooby and Shaggy will revive damage if they fall from high platforms.
- Password Save: The game has a password system to continue where you left off.
- Pirate Episode: The first level has the gang trying to spot a ghost pirate.
- Production Throwback: The opening theme used for the game is the original Ted Nichols version originally used for the first couple of episodes.
- Sanity Meter: Scooby and Shaggy have this as their health bar. If they encounter creatures like parrots and rats, their gauge will fill up and it'll be a game over.
- "Test Your Strength" Game: In the second level, there's a strongman game that the player needs to ring in order to get the key to access more of the park.
- Whack-a-Monster: There's mini games where you need to hit the monsters to earn points. But you can't hit the Mystery Gang members.
- You Meddling Kids: In typical Scooby-Doo fashion, the villains will say this to the gang after they are caught.
