Pawborough is a browser-based Virtual Pet Role-Playing Game that entered open beta in 2026. It takes place in the fantasy world of Kotemara, which is inhabited by 22 breeds of catfolk and divided into seven nations called "boroughs". Players can dress up their cats, breed them, roleplay as them, and fight in turn-based battles.

Pawborough contains examples of:

• Adventure Guild: Players can take on errands at the guild in order to earn rewards such as money and rare items. Most of them are "hit sprees", where the player fights cats who harmed the client.
• Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Catfolk come in hundreds of colours, from realistic greys and browns to every hue of the rainbow.
• Arcadia: The Harvest Borough consists of villages scattered across fields and forests, and its economy revolves around farming.
• Born Under the Sail: The Abyssal Borough is on a tropical archipelago, and its inhabitants are sailors who love to travel the world and tell tall tales.
• Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Each borough is associated with two colours. Abyssal is pink and purple; Cogwheel is orange and brown; Harvest is green and cyan; Luna is blue and grey; the Metropolis is red and black; Sol is brown and gold; and Zenith is yellow and teal. Cats' eye colours match the borough they were born in.
• Common Tongue: According to the encyclopedia, Kotkavan became the lingua franca of Kotemara in ancient times because it was easy for cats to pronounce regardless of their muzzle shapes, and was spread by traders. Its modern form is called Kotka.
• Exotic Eye Designs: The Starstruck Lens and Lovestruck Lens items can be used to give a cat star or heart-shaped pupils, respectively.
• Expy: Crowley and Wheatley are similar to Ravenpaw and Barley from Warrior Cats. They're both pairs of cats who live on a farm; one is named after a corvid and is mostly black with a small white spot; the other is named after a grain and has black and white patches.
• Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better: Catfolk are capable of walking on two or four legs. Bipedalism is usually associated with the upper classes, while quadrupedalism is associated with the lower classes, especially in the south.
• Furry Reminder: Wealthy cats are described as "white-collar silver-bell".
• Grim Up North: Sol is the northernmost borough in Kotemara. Its harsh environment of glaciers and tundras has shaped a culture of cats who value fending for oneself over helping others, to the point that no-one dares to cross the royal family.
• Inconsistent Spelling: The site's name has also been stylised as "Paw Borough" and "PawBorough".
• Item Crafting: Players can obtain blueprints that allow them to craft certain items in Furze's workshop. Crafting them costs money as well as resources.
• Magic Meteor: Kotemara's recorded history begins with an impacting meteor made of harkestone. It devastated the world's ecosystems, but thanks to its magical properties, they recovered in only a few thousand years. Eventually, catfolk started using harkestone to cast magic.
• Mix-and-Match Critters: Mystic breeds look like cats combined with other animals. Moontails are part-insect, prancers are part-deer, thumpers are part-rabbit, bovines are part-cattle, fyrets are part-ferret, and stonehides are part-pangolin.
• Moon Rabbit: Northern lunasagis are rabbits that gaze at the moon on clear nights. Some believe you can see an outline of one on Kotemara's moon.
• Planimal:
  • Romanovtsas are sheep-like mammals with crops growing from their horns, such as carrots or olives.
  • The southern flitaya is a cormorant-like bird with a dragonfruit-like torso.
• Play Every Day: Logging in and doing certain tasks everyday raises the player's streak, which gives them rewards such as currency when it reaches certain numbers.
• Produce Pelting: One random favor is titled "I'm going to a show tonight and I hate the lead actor!" In it, a cat requests three tomatoes.
• Proud Industrious Race: The Cogwheel Borough was founded by cats who shunned the Metropolis' focus on magic and wanted to build machines instead. Many technologies were invented in Cogwheel, such as locomotives, plumbing, and electricity.
• Proud Scholar Race: Most of the Luna Borough's inhabitants are scholars and esoterics who study magic.
