No Luca No (Video Game)
What you see is literally all you get.

No Luca No is an Xbox Live Indie Game by Silver Dollar Games, released in August 6, 2011. The game sees you controlling Luca’s owner as you try to keep Luca the cat away from your bowl of cereal, using only the right analog stick to do so.

No Luca No provides examples of:

  • Antagonist Title: The game's title refers to how Luca keeps trying to eat the bowl of cereal against his owner's wishes.
  • Cats Are Mean: Luca tries to eat your cereal, despite there being an entire pitcher of milk right behind him.
  • Difficulty by Acceleration: Over time, Luca will get progressively faster, making it increasingly harder to keep him away from the cereal.
  • Dull Surprise: Luca’s owner doesn’t really sound all that annoyed with Luca whenever you push him away.
  • Endless Game: The gameplay has you trying to keep Luca away from the bowl of cereal for as long as possible for a high score.
  • Featureless Protagonist: The only part of Luca’s owner that you see is his right arm.
  • Limited Animation: Everything in the game is made using various stock images, and a pretty small number of them at that, with the only object in the game to have more than one sprite being the player’s arm, which has a whopping two sprites.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: The entire game just has you trying to keep Luca away from your bowl of cereal.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Due to Luca’s owner being the only one of the main assets that uses 3D renders rather than a realistic stock image, he ends up sticking out like a sore thumb.
  • Press X to Die: If you try to push Luca too early, you’ll instantly game over.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: Luca is the main antagonist, not because of anything serious, but simply because he’s trying to eat your cereal, forcing you to push him away from the bowl.
