The Game Boy Advance was developed by Razorback Developments, the same company who developed LEGO Knights' Kingdom (2004) and BIONICLE: Maze of Shadows.
The console versions were released on PlayStation 2, Xbox and ported to PC and Game Boy Advance.
This game contains the following tropes
- Bragging Rights Reward: The Golden Car (Bedlam in the PC version, Swoopy Doo in the PlayStation 2 version and The Guv'ner in the Xbox version, and 16 Angels in the Game Boy Advance) is the prize for completing the game. The car has decent stats as expected, but at this point, you've got nothing new to do so its basically a glorified trophy.
- Compilation Re-release: The Gameboy Advance version had a double pack containing this game and Hot Wheels: World Race.
- Lethal Lava Land: The final race track, Lava Land takes place in a race track built near an active volcano.
- Mini-Game: Between race tracks, the player has to play mini-games where they collect tokens in order to unlock rewards.
- Nitro Boost: Touching orange flames allows you to increase your boost meter, and if used can been used to gain a temporary boost in speed that allows you to speed past the competition.
- No Antagonist: The game has no real antagonists, and the only character ever seen is the announcer Ryan Storm.
- Prehistoria: The first track Jurassic Jam takes place in a mountain area with dinosaur bones scattered throughout the place.
- Space Zone: The penultimate track, Zero Gravity Zone takes place in space with a large sun prominent in the background.
