Elementallis (Video Game)
Restore the elements.

Long ago, the world was formed and cared for by the elements in perfect harmony. Elementalists studied them, and the Elementals that came with them, subsequently learning to harness their powers. But your parents sought to tamper with them, and in their arrogance, were killed, and the world gradually started to decay from the absence of the elements.

Ten years later, you come across the first Elemental in years. Discovering the past from your father figure, your parents' former master, you go on a journey throughout the lands to find their temples, restore the elements, and save the world.

Elementallis is an Action-Adventure game developed by AnKae Games and published by Top Hat Studios. It was released on April 28, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Elementallis includes examples of the following tropes:

  • Ability Required to Proceed: In classic Zelda fashion, each element has a field power the hero needs to overcome different obstacles in their journey.
  • Blow You Away: The sixth element you unlock is wind. It allows you to dash a great distance, traversing over gaps and through enemies and hazards.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The purple obelisks that serve as a Fast Travel system actually use the Aether element, the subject of the final dungeon. Several prototype ones can be seen in the lab under the academy.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: The manager of the power plant in Vil·laraig is a rather unpleasant man who exploits and underpays his workers and the protagonist.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: The fifth element you unlock is earth. It creates earthquakes that destroys breackable obstacles and knocks back enemies.
  • Early Fireball Spell: The first element you unlock is fire, which allows you to shoot fireballs.
  • Elemental Powers: A given, with it being the main gimmick of the game. The eight elements given focus are fire, nature, ice, water, earth, wind, electricity, and aether.
  • False Prophet: Gonçalbo, also known as The Word and later The Act, is a charlatan who is fooling the town of Cales with his sham religion in order to make ends meet.
  • Foreshadowing: Throughout your journey, you'll encounter purple variants of normal enemies, which have double the health but greater rewards. They have the same purple tint as the Aether element, and the Apocalyptic Logs in the final area imply them to be escaped experiments.
  • Green Thumb: The second element you unlock is nature. Its main gimmick allows you to grow vines to climb previously unscalable heights. Its offensive ability grows a plant that siphons enemy health and restores yours.
  • An Ice Person: The third element you unlock is ice. It lets the player unleash a trail of frost that freezes enemies and allows heavy pillars to be pushed.
  • Interface Spoiler: The optional dungeon before the academy gates consists of a series of mini-dungeons, where each floor is based on a main story dungeon. As they are ordered in the same way as main dungeons, the dungeon inadvertently reveals to the player which region to go to next.
  • Lethal Lava Land: Rogentia, the volcanic region of Fire. In a twist, it's actually the first region you go to. It's inhabited by dwarves, who are out of work due to the lava no longer flowing. Interestingly, they also use gondolas to navigate the lava rivers.
  • Life Drain: The nature element can be used to grow a plant which siphons away health from enemies while restoring the player's own health.
  • The Lost Woods: Fageda, the forest region of Nature. It's your home when you begin the game, full of as much flora as its element of nature allows. The area is blockaded by thorns that must be incinerated to progress, and enemies tend to spray poison.
  • Making a Splash: Water is the fourth element you unlock. The player is surrounded in a shield of water that also allows them to traverse over, well, water.
  • Metropolis Level: Vil·laraig, the urban region of Electricity.
  • Not Quite the Right Thing: Though it's a But Thou Must!, in Vil·laraig, you use your elemental powers to help the beleaguered factory workers complete their tasks in an hour... which leads to them only being paid for that one hour of work.
  • Optional Boss: The elemental hydra at the bottom of the optional dungeon at the academy. It's a massive, seven-headed dragon where each head attacks with a different element.
  • Palmtree Panic: Cales, the beach region of Water.
  • Perpetual Storm: Cales Coast is being affected by one, due to the water element being out of whack.
  • Playing with Fire: The first element you unlock is fire, which allows you to shoot fireballs. Enemies, plants, and pyres can be set ablaze, but you must be careful, lest you accidentally burn yourself, too.
  • Shock and Awe: The seventh element you unlock is lightning. It lets you summon a bolt of lightning to either stun enemies or power/depower conduits.
  • Video Game Dashing: The wind element lets you perform a dash that also launches you slightly upward.
