Dinosaur Resurrection is a Japanese Role-Playing Game developed by Falcom and is a remake of their older titles Dinosaur. It was released exclusively on Windows computers on December 19, 2002.
Much like in the original game, Ash; having survived multiple Total Party Kills until an era of peace; finds himself guided away from his homeland and having to travel over the world of Zamhan; filled with a maddening disorderly space of tragedies, mingled realms or living and dead, and never-ending resentment being dismissed as just being part of history; and has to fight his way with his party to save themselves from the misery-laden paths and fearsome monsters that lurk every corner of this destructive and chaotic world.
Tropes:
- Adaptation Dye-Job: One bearded beastman shown on the cover of the original game originally had a different colorscheme such as a reddish face as well as gold-colored horns and skull shoulderpads. Here, his face is recolored to be paler while his horns and skull shoulderpads are colored white as bones.
- Adaptational Skimpiness: In the original game, Ash was never topless. Here, he's a Walking Shirtless Scene.
- Anti-Frustration Features: Unlike the original, this game now has a mini-map to help the player navigate the dungeons and areas, preventing players from getting lost in the confusing layout.
- Art-Shifted Sequel: Unlike the original game's more stylized artwork, the character art here is much more realistic than the original game, though it still features an anime aesthetic to it.
- Sprite/Polygon Mix: Despite the facelift to 3D areas, the game still incorporates 2D sprites on interfaces and enemy battles.
- Vapor Wear: It's clear from Elis's revealing dress, which shows the area around her armpit, that she is not wearing any sort of bra.
- Video Game 3D Leap: The original game used 2D sprites. For Resurrection, both the gameplay and cutscenes use full 3D models.
- Video Game Remake: A remake of the original Dinosaur that beefs up the graphics, redesigns the characters, and implements some quality-of-life features such as a map that helps players with their navigation.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: Ash has no shirt worn over the course of the game, unlike the original game where he is fully clothed.
