"Hakkutsu! Aruarudaijiten" ("Excavation! Encyclopedia of Facts") was a popular show in Japan from 1996 to 2007 that people turned to for health advice. They often used footage of foreign scientists to bolster their legitimacy. There was just one tiny problem (actually several, but this was one of the most blatant): the dubbing of said scientists was entirely made up, disregarding what they were actually talking about and inserting whatever fad diet they wanted to promote in its place.
