• Bad Export for You / No Export for You: The Spriggan manga series was not finished completely in different parts of the globe. In some parts of the world where Spriggan was serialized in different languages, certain chapters were censored for either political/religious reasons, one of them being the American military as a hostile enemy for ARCAM. This led to the halting of further releases of Spriggan to North America.
• Network to the Rescue: With Chuang Yi going bust in Singapore, it was a lot harder to get a hold of Spriggan in English. Viz also discontinued translations of Spriggan back in the 1990s. Then, in 2022, Seven Seas Entertainment acquired the publishing rights.

• The Other Darrin:
  • Due to the Netflix series being released 13 years after the film's release, everyone was inevitably recast, both living and dead.
    • Chiaki Kobayashi voices Yu Ominae instead of Showtaro Morikubo.
    • Kenji Hamada plays Yamamoto instead of the late Kinryū Arimoto, who died of esophageal cancer in 2019.
    • Yōhei Azakami voices Jean Jacquemonde instead of Takehito Koyasu.
    • Ayumu Murase plays Colonel MacDougal instead of Ryuji Aigase, who aged out of the role.
    • Tomohisa Asō voices Mayzel instead of Ken Shiroyama.
    • Margaret is voiced by Sanae Kobayashi instead of Sakiko Tamagawa.
    • Yasuhiro Mamiya and Mitsuo Iwata respectively voice Fat Man and Little Boy instead of Shunji Takano and Katsumi Suzuki.
  • The film's English release was dubbed at ADV Films in Houston. For the ONA, it was instead dubbed at VSI's Los Angeles studio and everyone was recast. For example, Yu, voiced in the film by Chris Patton, is now voiced by Kyle McCarley.
• Studio Hop: The film was animated by Studio 4°C and the Netflix series was produced by David Production.
• What Could Have Been: A Netflix interview with the production crew mentioned that avex was making plans to do the anime adaptation by themselves until some of them were in meetings with Netflix Japan representatives on the anime as they wanted to back a production studio doing it.
