- Children Voicing Children: We have child actors playing most of the child characters, like Jacob Tremblay and Juliet Donenfeld for Pete The Cat and Sally Squirrel.

- Queer Character, Queer Actor: Both of Sally's fathers, Stan and Syd, are played by the also-homosexual actors Jim Parsons and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
- Real-Life Relative: Real life husband and wife Elvis Costello and Diana Krall voice Pete's mother and father.
- What Could Have Been: Due to its popularity with the neurodivergent community, the producers of Pete developed plans to feature an autistic character in the show.
