- Acting for Two:
- Besides voicing the anime's Canon Foreigner Tenshi, Chieko Honda and Dorothy Elias-Fahn serve as the respective Japanese and English voices of Setsuna Onmidoh.
- Noa Nagai voices Koto and Ai.
- Copiously Credited Creator: Wendee Lee is the English dub's ADR director, Rushuna Tendo's voice actress as well as the ADR scriptwriter.
- DVD Commentary: In a real rarity for anime, every episode has a commentary hosted by Mikako Takahashi (Rushuna) and Kazuya Nakai (Yajiro). Some episodes have guest commentators, like Yuki Matsuoka (Mikan), Nobuyuki Hiyama (Teppa), and the director Hiroshi Kōjina for the final episode.
- Enforced Method Acting: In the anime's tenth episode, Mikako Takahashi actually inhaled helium for Rushuna's scenes after the underwater battle between her and Hakubi.
- Follow the Leader: A blonde, pacifistic outlaw with ridiculously good gun skills; a group of assassins whose main purpose is to torture the main character with their inevitable deaths; and a mysterious, completely nihilistic antagonist, much like Trigun.
- Late Export for You: Tokyopop began releasing the manga in 2006, three years after its Japanese premiere.
- No Dub for You: The only languages the anime is dubbed in are English, European Spanish and German. France and Poland released the series subtitled-only.
- The Other Darrin: Kasumi had three different actresses playing her over the course of only twelve episodes! First was Julie Ann Taylor (already the voice of Mikan) in her first appearance/cameo in episode 3, then Kate Higgins in episodes 7 and 8, and finally Megan Hollingshead for the final three episodes.
- Overtook the Manga: Even though the anime differs with the manga plot (changing some characters' motives and personalities taking into consideration how long this anime was going to be), the manga still kept being published for a little while a few months after the anime ended.
- Playing Against Type: Julie Ann Taylor frequently plays quite a few Cool Big Sis or teen characters in works such as Ai Tanabe in Planetes and Bellows in Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. In the dub of this series, she voices Mikan Kurenai, a young child.
- Recast as a Regular: In the English dub:
- Julie Ann Taylor voiced Kasumi in episode 3 and would later go on to voice Mikan starting with episode 5.
- Nago's voice actor, Bob Papenbrook, later voiced Ganzo Tenma.
- Release Date Change: Media Blasters was originally set to release the anime series on Blu-ray in North America on December 28, 2021. It was eventually moved to January 18, 2022.
- Rereleased for Free: In North America, Grenadier can be streamed on Tubi for free.
- Role Reprise: All of the anime's voice actors reprised their roles for the drama CD release.
- Studio Hop: At first, the manga's North American release was handled by Tokyopop, before switching to Viz Media in 2015.
- What Could Have Been: At one point during post-production, a noise filter was added, but most of it was removed at Group TAC producer Hiroshi Sakurai's request. Only the noise filter was used with the caption shots.
