Kirby Right Back At Ya S 3 E 4 Fossil Fools Part I

Go To

Kirby and friends learn all about dinosaurs, which gives King Dedede an idea.

Tropes:

  • Amusement Park of Doom: Dino Kingdom is a parody of Jurassic Park, so naturally, the dinosaurs get out of control and attack the park’s visitors.
  • Bad Vibrations: Near the end, ripples appear in a glass of tea, created by the Thundering Footsteps of the D-Rex.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": When Tiff, Mayor Blustergas, and Professor Curio call Dedede out for his forgery, he yells, "Quiet, quiet, QUIET!"
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Tiff's reaction when she sees that Tuff and Kirby let a few lizards loose as a joke.
  • Extinct Animal Park: Dedede creates the theme park, Dino Kingdom, and hires Dr. Moro to create real dinosaurs for the park. The dinosaurs resemble all the citizens of Cappy Town, since they were partly created from their DNA. Naturally, the dinosaurs go on a rampage and try to eat everyone.
  • Foreshadowing: When the eggs were stolen from the museum, Dr. Moro is missing, and all the Cappies try looking for him. Guess who took all the eggs?
  • Imagine Spot: While studying dinosaurs in the castle library, Dedede imagines himself riding a fire-breathing T. Rex in prehistoric times.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Escargoon calls the Waddle Dees "Waddle Dumbs" while they help Dedede forge dinosaur footprints.
  • Not Me This Time: When Tuff accuses Dedede of stealing the dinosaur eggs, the king is confused. In part 2, Dedede turns out to be innocent when Dr. Moro is discovered as the culprit.
  • Shout-Out:
    • When Dedede tells Escargoon to bring him more dinosaur books, the snail asks, "Where's 'See Dino Run'?", which references the line "See Spot run" from Dick and Jane.
    • Dr. Moro's name is a reference to The Island of Doctor Moreau.
    • Dino Kingdom is a nod to Jurassic Park (1993). Not only that, the scene where the D-Rex shows up parodies the scene of Rexy's arrival in the same film.
  • The Television Talks Back: As the commercial for Dino Kingdom plays on TV, Mayor Blustergas suspects the park to be a hoax. Right then, Escargoon says, "You may think it's a hoax, but that's where your wrong!"
  • Thundering Footsteps: In the end, the D-Rex stomps around, making a loud, booming sound.
  • Toilet Humor: The fourth question Moro asks Dedede and Escargoon to see if they qualify as his assistants is "Where do gases form?" Dedede's response is to point at Escargoon and say, "Inside of this guy!"
  • Unwitting Pawn: Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, and Curio all become this in Dedede's scheme when they help Dr. Moro turn lizards into dinosaurs.
