Alfred takes a moment to sit down for a moment's rest with a book and a nice cup of tea...only for everyone in the manor to disrupt it in one way or another.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Brits Love Tea: Alfred, the quintessential British butler, sits down with a cup of tea for his break.
- Busman's Holiday: Defied. Alfred ignores the background chaos and politely but firmly tells the people who directly address him that he is taking his break right now; all non-emergency things will have to wait or be delegated.
- Continuity Nod: Selina gets mentioned again when Bruce and Kate have to crack a safe.
- Funny Background Event: The entire episode, which shows the family going about their day while Alfred sits in the foreground.
- Never My Fault: Kate blames Bruce for her not being able to access her safe, because he was the one who assigned Lucius to create an uncrackable one. Bruce immediately points out that she forgot the code.
- Noodle Incident: How exactly a huge landscape painting, Jason, and Cassandra got splattered with green paint is never explained. Alfred has his back turned and doesn't see it and Duke isn't too keen to explain why he was calling out or where he and his siblings are going.
- Not So Above It All: The usually more mature Bruce and Kate get into a childish argument about whose fault it is that Kate can't open her safe.
- Platonic Kissing: Damian kisses Alfred the cat on the head.
- Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Bruce groans that Selina will be "So. Smug."
- Safe Cracking: Implied. Alfred heavily hints that someone besides him could probably help when Bruce and Kate can't open Kate's super-secure safe. Bruce ends up reluctantly agreeing to call in Selina as Kate originally suggested, groaning that she'll be unbearably smug about it.
- Unsound Effect: A door being shut hard is rendered as "slam!"
