Anime & Manga

"You'll always be my dear comrades, right up until I've killed you."
Bertholdt, Attack on Titan

Comic Books

Hal: Were we ever truly friends?
Sinestro: That's the tragedy of all this, Jordan. Hal. We'll always be friends.

"That's right, Ma. I found Lex today...completely by accident. What a huge disappointment. In the back of my mind, I guess I'd always hoped that we could be friends again someday, but the way he's changed...and what he's changed INTO..."
Superman in an email to his mom, Superman: Birthright

Films — Animated

Hang Kasa: Retak'ka and I were the best of friends. He found the Power Sphera Light Gamma, I found the Power Sphera Quake Crystal. But as we grew older, he became greedy. He stole five more Elemental Powers! And then, he came after my power. How could he? What do you think? Huh?!
BoBoiBoy: No, he shouldn't have.
Hang Kasa: And that is why I had to stop him. I used a special Power Sphera, Ochobot, to drain all of Retak'ka's Elemental Powers.

Films — Live-Action

Nick Fury: You know, there was a time I would've taken a bullet for you.
Alexander Pierce: You already did. You will again, when it's useful.

Cash Bailey: Aw hell, Jack. I know you're pissed, but this is me and you. We rode the river together. Now personally, I'd just be tickled pink if we could work out something save us both a world of grief. We ought to work together. You could be a hundred-thou a year man right now, and I'm the man that pays.
Jack Benteen: You can buy me, Cash. Hell, you always could. But you can't buy the badge, and one without the other ain't no goddamn good.
Cash Bailey: Well what the hell else are we gonna do, partner? Shoot each other?

Jack: I still like him [Cash]. I'm still trying to count on my friend.
Hank: Smartest crooks always did know how to get to a man inside.

Dutch: What happened to you, Dillon? You used to be someone I could trust.
Dillon: I woke up. Why don't you? You're an asset. An expendable asset. And I used you to get the job done, got it?

Literature

Ashiol: Garnet was a good man. He was the best of men—better than me. And then he became Power and Majesty.
Heliora: You haven’t grieved for him yet.
Ashiol: I grieved for Garnet the first time he killed a courteso to show them all who was boss. I grieved every time I saw him torture a friend. And the first time he scarred me, I stopped grieving.

Live-Action TV

The Master: I had estates. Do you remember my father's land back home? Pastures of red grass, stretching far across the slopes of Mount Perdition. We used to run across those fields all day, calling up at the sky. Look at us now.
The Doctor: All that eloquence. But how many people have you killed?

"I had a friend once. We ran together when I was little and I thought we were the same. When we grew up, we weren’t. And now she’s trying to tear the world apart and I can’t run fast enough to hold it together."
The Doctor, Doctor Who, "Death in Heaven"

Music

Our path diverged upon a road
You chose a darker fate to sow
I watched you turn from friend to foe
It had to end like this I finally know
The Megas, "(I Want to be The One) To Watch You Die"

Video Games

Sly Cooper: You don't know anything about me or my father.
Dr. M: Really? Who let you in on the secret of this place, eh? Was it my old pal McSweeney, perhaps?
Sly Cooper: McSweeney works for you? This was all a setup to get the cane!
Dr. M: No, m'boy. Once upon a time, he and I worked together... for your dear old dad.
Sly Cooper: My father wouldn't have run with a guy who'd try to steal from the Cooper Vault... let alone attempt to kill his son.
Dr. M: Time does strange things to people.

Anakin/Vader: Don't make me kill you.
Obi-Wan: I will do what I must.
Anakin/Vader: You will try... my old friend.

Web Animation

The immediate context the audience had for this movie is the dynamic we see in the first three X-Men movies where Magneto and Xavier are that fascinating combo of "old friends" and "archrivals" and really they kinda give off that vibe of two people who have broken up for years but stayed friends but the reasons they broke up are still very much present and every once in a while one of them is like "We should give it another try" and the other one's like "Are you still going to try to orchestrate the downfall of humanity?" And the other one's like "I knew you'd bring that up!" And it's just a whole mess.
Red, Overly Sarcastic Productions, "One X-Cellent Scene - Rage and Serenity"

Western Animation

Livingstone: We were best friends, Wease. You broke my heart back then.
The Creeper: Now it's time to break the rest of you.
