Weaponized Landmark

Go To

Basic Trope: A famous landmark used as a weapon.

  • Straight: The Statue of Liberty's torch arm is actually a Death Ray in disguise.
  • Exaggerated:
    • The Statue of Liberty is a Humongous Mecha in disguise with a vast assortment of weapons.
    • Every landmark in the world is this.
  • Downplayed: ???
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: The Omega Death Cannon, a supposed powerful superweapon, is just a landmark.
  • Subverted:
    • It was a just a lie and the statue isn't a weapon.
    • A translation error made it seem that the landmark is used as a weapon, when in reality "stadswapen" translates to "city coat of arms".
  • Double Subverted:
    • The US army adds the weapons later.
    • The lie/translation error is an Accidental Truth.
  • Parodied: ???
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted:
    • No landmark is a weapon.
    • No weapon is disguised as a landmark.
  • Lampshaded: "Commander, I inform you that we have finished adding a laser to the Statue of Liberty."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: The Big Bad uses the statue's laser to attack New York.
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: "Commander, should we add weapons to the Statue of Liberty?"
  • Conversed: "That show was so cool! They gave the Statue of Liberty a goddamn laser beam!"
  • Deconstructed: Everyone rejects the idea because they think it's silly and ridiculous.
  • Reconstructed: The people behind the idea do it anyway, and it proves to be valuable in defending America.
  • Played For Laughs: The Statue of Liberty conceals a bunch of silly weapons like boxing gloves on springs.
