Basic Trope: A small person who is very strong.
- Straight: Anna is 1.5 meters tall and weighs 56 kilograms, but she can bench press 160 kilograms.
- Exaggerated: Anna is 0.7 meters tall and has super strength; she can lift a car over her head.
- Downplayed: Anna is below average height and weight but has above-average strength.
- Justified:
- Strength and size aren't always the same.
- Anna is a superhero or magic-user.
- Anna takes advantage of the Square-Cube Law.
- Inverted:
- Anna is 6'4" and 200 lbs, but is Weaksauce Weakness personified.
- Impossibly Graceful Giant
- Subverted: Anna claims to be stronger than she looks, but is beaten easily.
- Double Subverted: She was just a bit tired and she ends up beating someone
- Parodied: Anna is smaller than an ant and she can move mountains beneath anyone's notice until they're already conspicuously gone from the landscape.
- Zig-Zagged: Anna can grow or shrink herself; she's super-strong when tiny and super-weak when big, or vice versa.
- Averted:
- Anna is small and weak.
- Anna is big (possibly 6'4" and 200 lbs) and very strong.
- Anna is of average strength and size.
- Lampshaded: "I know size doesn't always matter, but something about Anna seems to take that line too far."
- Invoked: Anna works out in secret.
- Exploited:
- Anna enters a contest of strength, and she's up against big bodybuilder types.
- Anna's strength gives her a slight advantage in physical combat, but what really gives her an edge is the fact that her opponents don't expect it.
- Alternatively, Anna is both small and strong. Considering that being smaller typically means you're faster and harder to hit, Anna becomes a Lightning Bruiser.
- Defied:
- Anna is small and doesn't do much physical activity. Instead, she prefers intellectual hobbies like art, music, and chess to sports.
- Anna is a Guile Hero instead of an Action Girl.
- Discussed: "Damn! Did you just see Anna?" "Yeah! Picked up that car like it was nothing!"
- Conversed: "I'm glad this is just a cartoon. Anna could never do that in reality."
- Implied: Anna is locked in a confined space alone with a heavy object and no mechanical aids with which to move it. When Bella checks on her moments later, she finds that the object has moved and Anna isn't even sweating.
- Deconstructed:
- Anna's small size makes her a Glass Cannon who can't take the pummeling bigger characters can.
- Anna suffers from Power Incontinence and always pushes at things with dangerous amounts of force far out of proportion to her stature.
- Reconstructed:
- See Exploited #3.
- Anna learns how not to overuse her strength, or gets a limiter she can take off in case shit gets real.
- Played for Laughs: Anna (a dwarf) bests Goliath (a huge bodybuilder type) in a wrestling match, then juggles an elephant, a kitchen sink, a toilet, a barbell, and a car to show off.
- Played for Drama: Anna wishes for Super-Strength, but it causes problems for her. Like accidentally crushing her infant daughter.
