Orange himself. While his main schtick of being, well, annoying, may not sound like a big deal to some, the concept of a living orange endlessly pestering and tinkering with your patience until you unfortunately meet your untimely demise is rather unnerving. And sometimes, he'll keep annoying you as you're being slaughtered, showing no remorse or concern for you at all.
The Cursed Onion Ring Tape is sure to give you nightmares. Especially the part where Orange emerges from the TV.
All the times seeing sentient food either get cut up by Knife or suffer a more gruesome death. Horrifying on so many levels.
While understated, Grapefruit's first death is not pleasant - he's cut in half, gets sugar poured on him and is hollowed out via spoon. Judging by his reactions, it was comparable to having his wound salted and having his insides scooped out.
Grapefruit: OW! OW-W-W-W! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THIS HURTS?!
Spike's death in Tough Enough is downrightbrutal in how drawn-out it is. After half a minute of No Selling Knife and a set of nutcrackers, He Who Must Not Be Seen resorts to using a hatchet and pickaxe to basically bore a hole in Spike's head, which is followed by him physically working his fingers into Spike's wound and slowly ripping him completely in half. All of this is underscored by Spike slowly changing from confident bravado to screaming in agony as he's slowly cracked open.

Greg the Tomato from SKYDIVING! could probably give Spike a run for his money in the most terrifying death department. After tossing a chainsaw away while in mid air, Greg pays the price for the most gruesome example of a Brick Joke. Said chainsaw comes down and outright impales Greg with enough force to pop out his eyeballs! Greg's still screaming corpse being dragged along by the chainsaw and the foods screaming in horror add to the effect, with even Orange of all people horrified at that death.
"Rolling in the Dough" manages to make the simple concept of baking bread (and toast) look like a horrific Trauma Conga Line from the dough's perspective. First, he gets rolled flat, then stuffed into a pan and baked alive. When he comes out as a loaf of bread, he gets his face sliced off, toasted in the toaster until he can hardly move, smothered with butter (who is also sentient), and then he finally gets cut in half. And he suffers from great pain through all of this while Orange keeps getting on his nerves.
There's no doubt he deserved it, but the More Annoying Orange gets a pretty horrific death - being cut in half, and then juiced while he's still conscious throughout the whole thing. While Orange couldn't help but laugh at that due to how annoying the second one was, it comes back to bite him big time in "Control Freak" where he's put through the same thing.
Sure, in 'Iron Apple', the Mandarin (Orange) is played for laughs. However, it's kind of jarring to see Orange go at Iron Apple whilst snarling in absolute rage and fury, with a clear intent to kill. His main weapon of choice is also a hate-induced version of his laugh.
The Haunted Leaf Pile stands out for being one of the most unnerving Shocktober episodes. The episode starts out innocently enough, with Pear getting annoyed at Little Apple and Orange jumping in the leaf pile he just raked up. Then, the latter two discover a huge area with leaf piles, with radioactive warning signs. Things all go to crap once the two actually jump in one of them, with Little Apple and Orange becoming possessed by the radioactive slugs underneath the leaf piles. The two then force Pear to jump in the leaf pile, and he becomes possessed too. Thankfully, after a few months, they returned back to normal, with Pear telling the story for two fruits at a sleepover, but the horror is not over yet. After Pear leaves, one of the radioactive slugs appear in the room, after one of the fruits mistake it for a nightlight.

It's intended to be funny, and it happens in generally every episode, but sometimes Orange pushes his victims to get so annoyed and angry that it can be terrifying. A good example of this is in "Yo-Yo", where, after being mocked and called a dog throughout the episode because "he can do tricks", the titular yo-yo threatens to tear Orange's eyes out of their sockets after he warns him about a dog that was about to bite him.
"Souper Duper" deserves a special mention, as when Alphabet Soup becomes completely annoyed by Orange, the broth inside of him starts bubbling violently as if he were a hot spring. and he scalds Pear by mistake without noticing. It just goes to show the limits Orange can really push others to.
"The Amazing Wonderbread"'s titular character is so angry and jealous of Orange both annoying and upstaging him that he grabs what appears to be a knife and stabs Orange clean in the face with it. Sure, the knife he used was a prop, Orange is unharmed, and he ultimately gets what's coming to him, but the fact remains that Orange genuinely annoyed someone into trying to kill him.
At one point in "World's Longest Wazzup!" Pear mentions the trope when he sees Orange's redesign of the American flag.
Jump Scare! and its sequel are definitive examples. We recieve a Jump Scare from Orange, Pear, Marshmallow, and in the sequel, Grapefruit and an unnamed egg. Not only that, but the fact that their skulls jump off their skins when getting scared its absolutely terrifying.
The big sundae from the Massive Ice Cream Sundae Challenge probably qualifies as a definitive Knight of Cerebus for the series. For starters, he eats many people (one of them being a child) just to make himself more powerful, which is considered cannibalism. Even Orange and Little Apple are appalled by his evil acts.
How the big sundae dies could also qualify. Grapefruit is able to defeat him by turning the thermostat on. Being a sundae, he quickly starts to melt and we get to see his eyes melt (Though not his mouth thankfully.) and once it's over, everyone is pretty much standing on his remains.
"Knife Of The Living Dead" shows that Orange is capable of annoying the dead; giving way to quite the Gorn fueled zombie designs. For example, Strawberry from Kitchen Carnage is missing an eye and has a knife stuck to his head, Tomato has a blender blade stuck on him, and Durian probably has the most revolting appearance of all: He's still split in half, and still has the pickaxe dug into him.
While it's still a normal AO episode for the most of it, "Directed by Michael Baygel" has the titular bagel cue several explosions, culminating in cuing the Casteroid. More specifically, a world-threatening bottle of Castor Oil that will destroy Earth if it collides with it, just for the sake of awesome explosions. Thankfully, it's thwarted by a literal Plot Hole, since it is a Michael Baygel production.
"It's A Wonderful Knife" has probably the most messed-up concept of twisting a classic phrase on it's end: "everytime a bell rings, an angel clips it's wings". And that means, Angel Foodcakes are randomly stabbed to death with knives anytime a bell is rung. it can be part Crosses the Line Twice, but the fear factor still stays.
"No More Mr. Knife Guy" (the episode, not the full song parody) introduces us to another side of Knife, literally. It's revealed that the Knife is also sentient, but that every sentient food that gets cut up is against his will, and he feels awful for it. Orange, of course, pays no mind to Knife's feelings on the matter and keeps making jokes about him, until he inevitably makes a crack about Knife being dull, causing him to snap back about it worriedly. Knife tells them that dull knives get a visit from "The Sharpener". As he describes the Sharpener, another voice cuts in. Knife panics when Orange and Pear say it wasn't them, then screams "NOT AGAIN!" when the Sharpener is put down and used to sharpen him while he screams. Even Orange is caught off guard by how horrible it is.
And worse still? Unlike Knife who hates what he does, the Sharpener takes great pleasure in it. He laughs manically the entire time Knife is sharpened.
Did we mention anyone in Creepy Pasta's stories, no matter what role they play, will die if their character is dead too? It's very much implied Grapefruit wasn't so lucky in this story.
The intro for Shocktober 2020 looks like it came straight out of a Sequel Hook from a horror film. It starts off with Orange bursting out of a grave as a zombie, which seems simple enough...but then he suddenly dissolves into slime on the spot, and things only go downhill from here. Slime!Orange starts to crawl forward as Slime!Pear and Slime!Grapefruit (sporting their appearances in the Shocktober 2018 intro) do the same before the suddenly crash into each other, which results in them fusing into a slimy monster. It's also implied that Orange, Pear, and Grapefruit aren't the same fruits they were before, because now they're a fused being who is out for blood, judging by how that monster lunges right at you with a snap.
The Grimace Shake is just as warped as ever, although it is weighed out by some of its ways of death being hilariously executed. However, when Grapefruit decides to mix it with a protein shake, the results aren't so pretty, to put it lightly.
Orange's jumpscare in Ask Orange #69, complete with an unsettling Nightmare Face. It can really catch you off guard if you weren't expecting it.
In episode 2 of Storytime, Orange interprets the ending of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as Goldilocks being eaten by the Three Bears for breaking into their home. And they don't even stop there, because the kids at school decide to take a shortcut through the woods, and meet the same fate as Goldilocks. And how do the bears top it all off? by eating everyone in the world and claiming it for themselves! The last shot of the story shows a desolated earth being controlled by an entire kingdom of bears, as they all dance in their new dancing ground.
Frosty the Snowcone, an absolutely deranged murderous take on Frosty the Snowman, he's serial killer who is absolutely bent on killing every person in the kitchen, due to a chunk of his brain being eaten. Add that he can never truly be contained because he can almost easily slip out of prison by melting through the cracks in the floor, and the fact he's also making a massive army of killer snowcones to wreck havoc through out the kitchen, and you have an Invincible Villain well on his way to create several more.
Unlike a lot of other Shocktober episodes at the time, "Scream for Ice Cream" is a chilling tale starring a demonic ice cream cone as the antagonist. Most of the main characters, except for Pear, get picked off one by one and turn into creepy freeze-dried versions of themselves. Then the monster finally reveals itself and tries to attack Pear, though he is able to defeat it by turning on the stove, making it melt into a dark red liquid that looks uncomfortably like blood. Unfortunately, that means Pear is forced to watch his friends die in front of him, which heavily leans into Tear Jerker territory. Thankfully, it turns out to be a dream, and the alive Orange gives Pear a bowl of ice cream to help him feel better after the nightmare... and said bowl gains a Nightmare Face as it manifests as the monster in Pear's nightmare.
The Analog Orange may very well be the darkest character to ever appear in Annoying Orange who is never played for laughs, what makes him even more terrifying is that he is still around even after Shocktober 2024 is over and somehow becomes worse in every appearance.
Shocktober 2024's debut episode, "the faceless orange". It seems to start out as the first episode, just with regular fruit...only for "Orange" to turn around and show a gaping hole of black dug into his peel. Then said hole starts leaking ominous black fluids as the entire kitchen goes up in flames.
Marshmallow seems like the last character to be on this page, right? Well, when they are angry, things go bad for the instigator. Though the real scare is that we don’t see what exactly happens to the soul who upsets Marshmallow though we always see the aftermath of Marshmallow's rage. The most we've seen of Marshmallow brutalizing someone on-screen is a Funny Background Event in Buddy Cops.
In "Pet Peeve", Orange gets a pet fruit fly named Spot who feasts on a pair of bananas, one of which is left a rotten mess moaning in agony. Then Orange mistakenly calls him over, and Pear would have very nearly been the next victim were it not for the presence of a fruit spider.
In "Annoying Orange Meets YouTube", YouTube as a human injects Orange with a syringe containing H1N1 a.k.a swine flu, Orange is showing coughing seconds after being injected with the syringe still sticking inside him.
Thomas the Shank Engine, in which Orange annoys Thomas the Tank Engine until he completely snaps and becomes an insane Stalker Without a Crush. If the idea of an innocent childhood character becoming a serial killer isn't enough, then the idea that Orange can annoy people to the point of Sanity Slippage will definitely nail in just how exactly "annoying" he is.
