Star Fox Command

As a Nightmare Fuel subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

This game is known for being pretty narmish to varying degrees due to the absurdity of the dialogue and its Multiple Endings for obvious reasons, but as the series has been known to send chills down players' spines, that doesn't mean that it still can't possibly have its own share of Surprisingly Creepy Moments in its own right.

  • Corneria City getting attacked by the Anglars during the prologue cutscene is pretty scary as it shows numerous ships all over the city and setting many buildings on fire. What makes it even worse is that the Star Fox team has already been disbanded and it resulted in the Lylat System being easily overwhelmed and the team underprepared. Fox is forced to have to unite his former teammates as the war is ongoing.
  • Emperor Anglar looks legitimately terrifying on the game over screen with his narrow pupils and scowl that shows his sharp teeth.
  • Krystal's sudden change in personality counts as this; once the sweet young woman was kicked off the team by Fox due to safety concerns, she became bitter and in many paths, she joins up with Star Wolf and begins a relationship with Panther to begin what was initially Operation: Jealousy and acts very cold to Fox, but in some of the paths, she goes beyond all that and also treats Falco and Slippy badly as well, even though they didn't do anything to her to deserve it, and eventually crosses the line when she goes all out to put her own teammates in danger during her time in the Star Wolf team, even taking part in making a pact with Pigma to set them up to be killed; but even when Pigma fails to kill Falco (or him and Fox) it always ends with the two of them getting their credit stolen from them. To top all of this, she did these terrible actions over a simple breakup with Fox!
  • The Octoman's Ruse mission has the titular lieutenant having brainwashed Slippy; it's simply unnerving to see a caring fellow like Slippy of all people, fall under the control of a villain and forced to kill his own friends.
  • There's also the Dash Makes a Choice path; in the cutscene before the ending, Dash tells Fox and Falco that he isn't proud of the atrocities that his grandfather had done in his lifetime and opts to stay on Venom to terraform it and lead it on the path of peace. However, things suddenly take a darker turn when we get to the actual ending, Dash, years later, makes a pretty unsettling speech, "Corneria is no longer the center of Lylat power! Venom's time has come!" and after a couple of weeks, all it took to start a war was a small conflict with Corneria. What makes this scarier is the fact that it came out of nowhere, and this is the same Dash who wanted to strive to do better when his grandfather didn't, only to turn out just like he did. The final image of this ending has him looking more like Andross as he got older.
  • Pigma Dengar is worse to wear. Even after the Aparoids are destroyed years ago with everyone who’s been infected having recovered, he's not the same physically anymore and is a mere cube instead of his old self. He still has his personality intact, but he has some very serious trouble speaking coherently when he tries to talk and its likely he has spent the last remaining of his life like this. Is that the full extent of the aftermath of a severe Aparoid infection?
