- The game's introduction, with Pac-Man coming home to a surprise party that's been completely ransacked, and no members of his family to be found, not even his dog, not even his children. As the severity of the situation dawns on him all he can really think to do is scream.
- In fact, the abductions of the Pac-Man family (save for Pac-Man) come off as distressing, especially with Chomp-Chomp and Ms. Pac-Man's respective abductions.
- The kidnapping of Pac Jr is straight up disturbing, akin to something out of a PG rated horror movie. Jr is at the Pac House and is about to knock on the door. A small robot (not even the size of Pac Jr's foot) is standing behind him, suddenly as Jr turns his back on him, a panel opens up in the robot's head and then a massive mechanical hand (roughly the size of Pac Jr himself) comes out of the panel and at first snatches Jr's hat while quickly closing the panel. Jr is confused that his hat is missing but the robot pulls some stunts and Jr again turns back to the door, the panel opens back up and this time Jr gets grabbed and is crammed into the tiny robot (remember the robot is smaller than Jr's foot) if it wasn't for Toon Physics Pac Jr would've suffered from Fold-Spindle Mutilation and been killed!
- The Game Over screen. Should you run out of lives, it first plays out like normally, with the title and the loading icon. Until Toc-Man himself suddenly appears with an Evil Laugh and the title being changed to Toc-Man World. It's a rather startling Jumpscare at the very least.
- The first part of the Anubis fight. THE HAND! The second part is a nightmare in another way.
- The creepy Funhouse world with the walls of distorted, steam-spewing clown faces. It certainly doesn't help that these episodes are also the biggest time-wasters.
- King Galaxian, a Giant Enemy Crab with four glowing eyes and a sucking tractor beam that draws you right into his mouth. Yikes.
- The final world isn't just a haunted mansion. It's a mansion surrounded by a graveyard. Its first episode
has Addams Family-esque background music, the second has way too calm music with some Scare Chords thrown in, and the third one uses the Ominous Pipe Organ a little too well, resulting in a horrifying rendition of the Pac-Man theme.
