This comic is a simple Fantasy Romance at its core. It can't possibly be scary, right?
- Apparently the royal family of the country that the story takes place in was literally dissolved prior to the start of the story. As in, reduced to puddles on the ground.
- Nagisa tells Chiaki that, up until recently, skyfolk had a long-standing superstition that those born with black wings brought about bad luck. In an effort to avoid misfortune, black-winged newborns were ritualistically killed by being thrown off the edge of their floating kingdom, to the earth below. Chiaki aptly reacts with a horrified look.
- Demons are created by means of a parasitic process known as "corruption". An existing demon chooses a new, demonic name for a human/demi-human, and then horrifically carves that name into their victim of choice. The victim is then forbidden to utter their original name ever again, as doing so would cause their death. And that's if you even survive the excruciating pain of the transformation.
- As Belial explains the process to Keegan, we get a flashback to Belial getting corrupted as a child. A demon named Verrine, whose eyes are obscured and sporting a Slasher Smile, is shown targeting a young and terrified Belial. Belial is then shown screaming in agony as Verrine engraves the name onto the young girl's back using her claws.
- Jude has a cursed necklace that turns him into a girl in the morning and back at night. Said change is a Painful Transformation, to the point that Jude outright says that he fully expects the pain to kill him eventually.
- Eiji rendezvouses with a demon named Seir to find information on the thieves who hit Golem Hall, while Belial, Verity and Theo tail him on the rooftop. Seir feels their presence and screams at them to come out of hiding or leave, while donning the most intense glare, with red, swirling sclera to boot. After he leaves, Belial reveals that the more a demon kills, the more discolored their eyes become, meaning Seir has racked up a massive body count.
- On the very last page of chapter 5, Arc is seen wandering around town on her own and accidentally stumbles upon an 11-foot tall demon, said to have been Eligos' former general. He spots her, and tells the horrified 11-year-old that she forfeited her right to live the moment she found him, and asks her to come forward so he can see her face before he kills her.
- When Belial attacks Jude when the latter tries to give the teens their things back, her punches damage the brick, and after Jude stops her they admit that they're not sure if Belial was trying to take their head off or if she just lacks the discipline to restrain herself.
- Marchosias attacking the kids is bad enough, but it reveals a new fact about demons, they can't be directly affected by magic. Nara is able to temporarily knock him out by using her magic to direct projectiles at him, but he recovers and stabs her with her own icicle.
- Not only does Jude estimate that they only have until 19 to live, but their face was changed as well, matching The Caligula who originally wore the necklace.
