Clamburg is full of horrifying things, Fiend or otherwise- and no, Charlotte's overwhelming desire to be nice and cute does not soften the blow.
As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.
General:
- Basically, the entire premise of the show could be this. An Enfant Terrible has taken over/traumatized a town using homemade monsters to the point that no one has the guts to go up against her. She is now hell bent on murdering another girl just because she wanted to be friends with her, and the only thing keeping this little girl from getting killed is her uncanny obliviousness and naivety. Black Comedy indeed, Amy Winfrey.
Specific episodes:
- When Scissors debuts in “A Fiendish Friend.” He starts cutting up Charlotte’s house and when she moves in to pet what she thinks is a puppy, it looks like he’s gonna snip her hand off. The way the screen cuts to black just as he snips doesn’t help things. Thankfully that’s not the case but it’s still a tense moment.
- The scene in "Toupee" where Mr. Milk is persuaded by the toupee to push Charlotte off a fence on the edge of a cliff. The sky gradually gets more and more red as Mr. Milk gets closer to the edge of the cliff, with Mr. Milk looking more and more terrified and reluctant as he walks closer. Luckily, he doesn't go through with it.
- When the Toupee Fiend reveals his true colors:Mr. Milk: Yes, yes! please, what do I have to do?Toupee Fiend: (Chuckles) Just one little thing...Mr. Milk: (Nervously) One little thing?Toupee Fiend: (Becomes matted and bares sharp teeth) DESTROY CHARLOTTE!(Mr. Milk gasps in shock as lightning strikes, revealing Vendetta watching him through the window with a Slasher Smile.)
- When the Toupee Fiend reveals his true colors:
- "Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!" Charlotte meets her untimely demise again and again and again, and in each case, her last words are "Yay! Gumdrops!" Only one clone is aware it's a trap, and she finds out a little too late.
- Turns out there were at least two Charlottes that didn't get eaten. Whether or not one of them was the original Charlotte is unclear.
- One scene from earlier in the episode has a bunch of Charlottes cornering Vendetta in her bed. One of the clones actually has an evil smile on her face.
- Vendetta's Slasher Smile while she gives cookies to people in "Super Evil."
- When Vendetta offers cookies to Marvin, she pressures him into eating more than he could stomach by intimidating him with her creepy grin. The poor kid winds up bloated and in severe pain as a result, all while Vendetta laughs at his expense.
- The near end of "Shrinking Charlotte", when the giant cat swallows the shrinking slug and one of the gianting squid.
- The same episode had a rather creepy Leitmotif, with its table-rattling, two-note bass and eerie pads

- Surprisingly, Charlotte of all people gets a few in the "Dear Pretty Diary, Dear Stupid Journal" segment of "Shorts: Set 1." From her POV, she was teaching some of Vendetta's fiends how to swim, and eating some pudding that Vendetta made for her. Vendetta's side of the story shows us that she drowned some of her fiends in her swimming pool and ate a fiend that Vendetta was making!Charlotte: (Narrating) Vendetta has so many great pets! I taught some of them to swim. They are soooooo good at holding their breath!Vendetta: (Narrating) SHE DROWNED MY FIENDS!
- The Clamburg tourism ad segment shows two people in a fancy restaurant getting eaten by a fiend, and ends with the spokesman being Eaten Alive offscreen by the same fiend as he screams in terror.
- "New Best Friend" has Marion almost becoming as evil as Vendetta when she creates a giant fiend with claws to kill Charlotte just for annoying her. She even has a pretty ominous Face Framed in Shadow when she gloats about how Charlotte will never be able to bother her ever again.
- Not to mention the fact that she created such a thing on her first try. If it weren't for Status Quo Is God, what would happen if Clamburg got a second child dictator?
- The nightmare sequence from "Tornado", Vendetta finds doors that leads to cross-eyed Charlottes (one normal one, one with a cup of a smaller Charlotte with a cup of an even smaller Charlotte, one with eight heads.). As Vendetta runs away from the doors, she notices that something blocking her path, and she finds out that she’s in a gigantic Charlotte’s eye saying "HI NEIGHBOR!".
