チューリング・テ[]ト (Turing Teto) is a lore-heavy UTAU/Vocaloid song series created by 44e-prone.

Once again, a yellow lampshade:

• Art-Shifted Sequel: Used for characterization. Cyrus' "CATCHY YELLOW SONG" has colorful art, Super-Deformed character design, and "animation meme"-style bouncy movements because they are not a serious person, while Adel's "DOCTOR ELIZA" is dim, detailed, and generally miserable. As a duet (or quartet), "GO MAD:SLIP UP" uses attributes from both characters' songs.^{show/hide details}Besides the obvious combination of Cyrus' animation style and "flat", unshaded art with Adel's character proportions, "GO MAD:SLIP UP" features the x and y coordinate popups and the exclamation points from "DOCTOR ELIZA". (If you missed the latter, it's visible at 3:33 in "DOCTOR ELIZA" for around 4 frames of animation, and at 1:31 in "GO MAD:SLIP UP".)
• Chekhov's Gag: Cyrus getting hit on the head with a metal pipe in "CATCHY YELLOW SONG" lasts for about a second and is Played for Laughs, but "you're such a jerk." reveals that Cyrus is recovering from a head wound.
• Color-Coded Speech: In Cyrus and Adel's Freeze-Frame Bonus conversation in "DOCTOR ELIZA", Cyrus' dialogue is cyan and Adel's is a reddish neon pink. These colors are also used to represent them at several other points in the music videos: the glitch effect of both characters disappearing at 0:50 in "DOCTOR ELIZA", the returning square motif at 1:00 in "DOCTOR ELIZA" and probably in the minor Rainbow Speak in the subtitles of "GO MAD:SLIP UP" - in the latter song, Cyrus' color has changed to look far more green, as if implying Cyrus isn't as separate from ELIZA S.D. as they think they are.
• Drink-Based Characterization: Invoked by Adel, who only drinks coffee "to keep up appearances", and privately prefers banana-flavored milk. Meanwhile, Cyrus just eats some coffee beans if there's no time to make a morning brew.
• Freeze-Frame Bonus:
  • Around the end of "DOCTOR ELIZA", there are several times when the screen flashes black for only a frame or two; these frames contain secret messages in binary, a mildly ominous field of exclamation points that return in "GO MAD:SLIP UP", and an entire conversation between Cyrus and Adel.
  • Between 0:20 and 0:21 in "GO MAD:SLIP UP", you can see that the shattering sound came from a glass: specifically, the broken cup icon used on one of those fragile item stickers that Cyrus has in their hair.
• Goroawase Number: In "GO MAD:SLIP UP", Cyrus uses goroawase puns twice^note "Already gone, along with 888 [hahaha]" and "deluding a chess automation, aiming at 889 [hurry up]" while ELIZA S.S. sings a whole verse in it.

• I Just Want to Be You: According to invokedWord of God, Adeliza wished that they could become Cyrus back when they were in high school, and still does in the present (see 1:10 of "GO MAD:SLIP UP"); as an adult, Adel wears Cyrus' hand-me-down clothes to mimic them, but is painfully aware that they can't copy Cyrus' happy, unbothered personality.
• Leitmotif: The bit labeled "synth walkdown" at 1:15 in "CATCHY YELLOW SONG" returns at 1:00 in "DOCTOR ELIZA", and so do the squares bouncing between two rows that represent it in the CYS music video. While the squares in CYS are all white, the squares in DE alternate between Cyrus and Adel's colors, with Adel's squares being the lower notes and Cyrus' squares being the higher notes. When the same riff is present at 0:40 in their duet song "GO MAD:SLIP UP", there's only one line of squares, foreshadowing how Adel/ELIZA S.S.'s relationship to Cyrus/ELIZA S.D. has changed to "when I'm you, and you're me, I just can't bring myself to hate you".
• Logging onto the Fourth Wall: Seishin University Hospital has an official, real-life website filled with secrets, including the real name of "John Springle"'s sister.
• Pun-Based Title: The series title, チューリング・テ[]ト (Turing Teto), is チューリング・テスト (Turing Test) with one character redacted.
• Shout-Out: When the screen zooms out to show that Cyrus was an actor on a stage in "CATCHY YELLOW SONG", the previously-offscreen props include the costume worn by Kasane Teto SV and a baguette (Teto's Trademark Favorite Food).
• Signature Headgear: Cyrus has safety goggles on top of their head, a fragile item sticker in their hair, and two black hair clips positioned like an equal sign; the goggles are how you're able to tell that the body lying on the ground in "DOCTOR ELIZA" is Cyrus. In the same song, ELIZA S.D. is wearing both Cyrus' sticker and their hairclips (with the latter being stuck on their lab coat) implying that ELIZA S.D. was Cyrus all along.
• Symbolically Broken Object: For most of "DOCTOR ELIZA", there's a cardboard box sitting between Adel and ELIZA S.D. that has several "this side up" stickers on it, all of which are pointed in different directions. When Adel becomes ELIZA S.S., pausing the video at 2:53 shows that the box has been slashed at with a knife, and Adel/ELIZA has stuck one of the "this side up" stickers on the monitor/their head at a perfect 90-degree angle, implying that Adel has found some semblance of emotional stability by becoming ELIZA, but only in the aftermath of lashing out at Cyrus.
• Turn the Other Cheek: In "you're such a jerk.", Cyrus brushes off Adel's apologies for the "attempted murder" as water under the bridge, saying that "nothing really matters anyway". Since Cyrus had to have been aware that Adel resented ELIZA S.D. for being unable to treat Adel's worsening mental state in "DOCTOR ELIZA", it's possible that Cyrus' reaction to being stabbed was along the lines of "yeah, I probably deserved that."
• Viewers Are Geniuses: A number of characters, events, and concepts in the series are based on computing and its history. (For the less plot-important references, see the Genius Bonus entry on the series' YMMV page.)
  • Cyrus is named after the Cyrus IMAP email server software. Since IMAP servers typically listen to incoming connections on port 143, the way that Adel uses that number in "GO MAD:SLIP UP" could mean that they're starting to recognize the concern Cyrus feels for them ("but I'm scared I won't be there when you need me").
  • "DOCTOR ELIZA"'s titular character is a direct reference to the 1960s chatbot of the same name that imitates a therapist by responding to messages with phrases like "please go on" or "I see."
  • Parry (a character referenced in "DOCTOR ELIZA"'s Freeze-Frame Bonus dialogue) is based on PARRY, a 70s chatbot who simulates a person with paranoid schizophrenia; the real PARRY and ELIZA have been made to talk to each other.
  • The S.S. and S.D. in ELIZA's names stand for semi-deterministic state transition convention and single-state state transition convention.
