A Doom Metal / Hard Rock band started in Austin, Texas, composed for most of ts tenure of vocalist and guitarist John D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III.
In 2022, the group briefly disbanded, but as of 2025, are back together.

- After the End: "Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians" is implied to be set long after a nuclear war, with the titular "fire lances" being missiles.
- Concept Album: Warp Riders centers on an original Science Fiction narrative written by John D. Cronise.
- Heavy Mithril: Many of their songs focus on fantasy themes, and they've written songs based on Conan the Barbarian and A Song of Ice and Fire.
- Precursors: In "Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians", the Precursors are humans from roughly the current era. After a presumably nuclear war screws up the planet, the survivors idiotically decide that they need to find and launch more of our missiles.
- Shout-Out:
- Gods of the Earth contains two songs based on Conan the Barbarian ("The Frost-Giant's Daughter" and "The Black River") and a song based off of A Song of Ice and Fire ("To Take the Black").
- "Freya" from Age of Winters is named after a Norse goddess, and the lyrics reference Ragnarok and the Valkyries.
