• Spiritual Assassin Taromaru has a giant Surinam toad (in Japan) that Taromaru fights at one point. After Taromaru defeats its first phase, it eats him. Inside for the second phase, Taromaru has to attack pores that open up while dodging gastric acid and also fighting off giant parasitic worms that come out of the open pores.

• Devil May Cry:
  • Devil May Cry 1: During all three battles with Nightmare, it can devour the player which sends them to an evil pocket dimension where they have to take down several Sargassos before fighting a shadowy version of either Phantom, Nelo Angelo or Griffon. Defeating the sub-boss allows Dante to escape the sub-dimension and deal damage to Nightmare, though It Only Works Once because Nightmare's devour attack deals normal damage for the rest of the battle.
  • Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening: The boss of Mission 8 pits you against the Leviathan's Heart. To expose it, you need to damage one of the lungs. The left lung absorbs any Red Orbs on screen and the right one will drain your Devil Trigger and any White orbs. Both lungs can also absorb any Green orbs to heal itself, prolonging the fight especially on harder difficulties.
• Drawn to Life:
  • In the first game, the second phase against Deadwood begins once the tree inhales the player. Once inside, the player has to defeat the shadow responsible for corrupting Deadwood in order to end the fight.
  • The second game has the Giant Robosa, a giant robot Raposa that sucks the player inside of itself three times, in between rounds of attacking from the outside. Once inside the robot, the player has to disable its eyes and heart while dodging rockets and lava traps.
• Finding Nemo (THQ): The blue whale from the film is made into a boss. After you spend the first part of its fight swimming away from it, it catches up to you and engulfs you. You then end up in its mouth, where you have to bounce on its taste buds before going down its throat and swimming through its insides to reach its blowhole to escape.
• God of War III has Cronos. After Kratos spends most of the fight doing a Colossus Climb all over Cronos' body, Cronos eventually swallows him whole. Unfortunately for Cronos, Kratos ends up slicing his way down Cronos' throat before finding the Omphalos Stone inside Cronos' stomach. Kratos then uses the Blade of Olympus to slice his way out, causing Cronos intense pain and spilling out his intestines. It makes more sense when you remember that, both in Greek mythology and centuries before in the God of War universe, Cronus/Cronos/Kronos trapped all of his children except for Zeus by swallowing them whole. Even before he swallows Kratos, Cronos already knows what will happen.
  Cronos: Trust me. Eating you will be more unpleasant for me.
• The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures has the rematch against Big Poe. Several times during his fight, after the Links attack him enough, he will get angry and inhale them into his body. Inside, the Links have to fight a green ghost that, once defeated, will cause the Links to be spat out. After this happens four times, Big Poe will be defeated.
• MDK2: The heroes defeat Emperor Zizzy Balooba by getting sucked inside him and destroying his internal organs.
• Muramasa: The Demon Blade: Due to Jinkuro being eaten by Big Oni, Momohime tricks the oni into swallowing her whole to allow Jinkuro to possess her, where the first part of his boss battle has Jinkuro slicing his stomach.
• Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension has the Goozim. Most of the fight takes place outside it, but when it inhales you, you end up in its stomach, where you have to swim out of the gastric acid and use the Sticky Gloves to climb up its esophagus while avoiding saliva drops until you make it to its mouth, where you have to bounce on its tongue to grab onto its uvula, which you have to violently shake to make it spit you out.
• Sonic Rush Adventure has the Ghost Whale. After Sonic attacks its forehead and knocks it unconscious, he jumps down its throat and has to go through its body to find and attack its heart. If Sonic doesn't make it to the heart in time, he will be ejected from the Ghost Whale's body, but there are nodes inside that Sonic can destroy to gain more time. Once Sonic attacks the heart, he will be launched out through the Ghost Whale's blowhole. After Sonic attacks the heart a total of three times, he must attack the Ghost Whale's forehead one final time to finish the fight.
• South of Midnight: Two-Toed Tom swallows Hazel, allowing her to cleanse the corrupted hunger inside it.
• SpongeBob SquarePants:
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom: The second half of the fight against SpongeBot SteelPants is fought inside the boss as the player has SpongeBob sabotage the robot from within while dodging attacks from Robo-Plankton.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants Featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom has the Girl-Eating Plant, which is fought by SpongeBob and Technus. Technus says that he and SpongeBob need to find a way to get inside the plant. Because the fight takes place in a mall, they have to dress like girls to get themselves swallowed by the plant. They can then Attack Its Weak Point, which is protected by vines, inside.
  • SpongeBob's Truth or Square has the PlanktoBot. Once SpongeBob enters it through its mouth, he has to destroy three barrier generators before being able to damage the heart-shaped core in the middle, all while a wave of robots chase him down. After that happens, SpongeBob will be shot out of the PlanktoBot and the cycle will repeat.
• Star Fox Adventures has Galdon, the first boss. Fox is swallowed twice during the fight and must attack a membrane to try and get the Spellstone out of it.

• Chasm: The Rift has the Final Boss, a giant worm. In order to defeat it, you have to go inside it and destroy its heart.

• The Ocean Hunter has Midgardsorm, the main boss of Stage 6. After you defeat Basilosaurus, Midgardsorm eats both you and the carcass of Basilosaurus. After a brief Womb Level segment inside of Midgardsorm's body, you find his heart, resulting in the boss fight itself, where you have to shoot at the heart while also dealing with Midgardsorm's parasites.

• ANTONBLAST has Jewel Ghoul. After you defeat his first phase, his second phase has him devour you whole. Inside his body, you have to fight his heart upon millions of put-out cigarettes. The heart will smash the cigarettes one by one, slowly exposing the gastric acid at the bottom of the screen.
• Densetsu no Stafy 4: Degil's second phase has you trapped inside her mouth, forcing you to attack the tooth that has a cavity to progress through the fight.
• Doraemon 2: SOS! Otogi no Kuni has the boss of the Issun-bōshi level, a giant oni who swallows you whole. You must then defeat it by attacking its stomach walls.
• Kirby:
  • Kirby: Planet Robobot: After taking down Star Dream Soul OS' third phase, the fight seems like it will end the same way it did with Star Dream. Instead, Kirby is inhaled and has to take down the heart of the machine in the fourth phase to clear the True Arena.
  • Kirby Star Allies: All versions of Void Termina have the player taken inside the behemoth during its second and final phases. The second phase is a Stationary Boss who can't do much, but the final phase is much more powerful and differs depending on if you fight Void Termina in the story mode, Soul Melter or Soul Melter EX.
• Klonoa: Door to Phantomile: Nahatomb inhales Klonoa after its first phase is beaten. Klonoa winds up in a vast, ethereal dimension inside the boss, where he must fight the boss's spirit for the second phase. After this phase is defeated, Klonoa is ejected from Nahatomb's body, so the third phase is set outside of Nahatomb's body again.
• Minty Fresh Adventure!: The second half of the fight with the Ursa Major takes place inside its mouth, where Colgate has to destroy all four of its wisdom teeth as it slowly closes its jaws. If Colgate attacks the Ursa Major's uvula, it will rewiden its jaws, giving Colgate more time.
• Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom has the Ancient Frog, who Jin can only fight in his pig and snake forms. Multiple times during the fight, the Ancient Frog will eat Jin, and Jin has to use his snake form to climb the inside of the Ancient Frog's stomach to escape the rising gastric acid and make it to the Ancient Frog's heart, which he has to attack to be regurgitated.
• The NewZealand Story has the first boss, an ice whale fought in Auckland. In most versions of the game, halfway through the fight, the ice whale will swallow Tiki whole, and he must shoot at its inside while avoiding drops of saliva to destroy it from within. In Revolution, the ice whale's inside is bigger and more detailed (complete with junk Tiki can walk on), and after it swallows Tiki, he must instead shoot at a floating icy heart that shoots ice crystals at him while also still having to avoid drops of saliva.
• Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac has the Ghost Gang's gigantic, whale-like submarine known as the Megawhale, now the Mega-Whale, which serves as the boss of the Ocean; Pac-Man uses his own submarine for the entire boss fight. Unlike in the original game, the Mega-Whale is now a three-phased Sequential Boss. After Pac-Man defeats the Mega-Whale's second phase, the Mega-Whale swallows Pac-Man's submarine whole. The final phase is set inside the Mega-Whale, where Pac-Man has to shoot at the Mega-Whale's core while avoiding beams.
• Rayman Origins: The fight with El Stomacho has the player take the dragon on from the inside. Once you get to the stomach, you have to dodge the boss's heartburn and occasionally attack their weakspot. Once the weak spots have been taken down, the player then finishes the level by escaping from El Stomacho's body.
• Super Mario Bros.:
  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island has Froggy, the Mini-Boss of World 3. Kamek shrinks Yellow Yoshi down, an inversion of the Make My Monster Grow tactic he uses on every other boss. Yellow Yoshi is then swallowed by Froggy and has to dodge gastric acid drops while turning the Shy-Guys Froggy eats into eggs so that Yellow Yoshi can throw the eggs at the uvula at the top of Froggy's stomach.
  • Wario: Master of Disguise: During his first battle, Carpaccio transforms into Head Honcho Carpaccio, a massive Flying Face that swallows Wario. Wario must escape by beating him from the inside.

• The Binding of Isaac: Rotgut is a 3-phase boss fought in the corpse floor. Phase 1 is him as a mouth on the floor you shoot at. Phase 2 has him eat you and you have to fight a maggot in his stomach in 2D mode. For phase 3, you have to blow up his heart, which for some reason hangs downward and sags, and then he'll spit you out.
• Peglin: The Slime Boss, one of the potential bosses of the Forest area, slowly advances towards the player and engulfs them if it reaches them. The boss fight continues, with the player taking Damage Over Time to represent gradual digestion, until they either defeat the Slime Boss or run out of HP.

• Final Fantasy XIV: During the World of Darkness raid, the player team does battle with Cerberus. Partway through, the creature spits out a mucus that traps the player and various orbs that shrinks them. The players are meant to get shrunk and get stuck so they can be eaten and sent to its stomach where they can attack the stomach wall to deal hefty damage and get the creature tethered. Failing to get shrunk if you get stuck leads to a One-Hit KO.
• Genshin Impact: The All-Devouring Narwhal has an attack in which it swallows the player whole. After which, a dark shadow is fought within. Upon defeating the dark shadow, the battle ends in the story version while the Narwhal spits out the player and is left dazed for a few seconds in the trounce rematch.
• Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix: The Optional Boss fight against Monstro involves switching between two phases. The first phase starts you inside Monstro's stomach, where you must defeat several waves of Unversed. Clearing them all causes Monstro to spit you out, where you fight him directly for a limited time before he swallows you again, repeating the cycle.
• Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story actually inverts this because the "boss" in question, Bowser, is the main Player Character. Early in the game, he gains the power to inhale and swallow enemies during battle, and then Mario and Luigi can fight the enemies inside his body.
• OMORI: HUMPHREY is a whale who has full control of his insides. You enter him through his mouth for the fifth area, and you have to fight him from the inside when he starts to get hungry. He first fights you as a colony of buds, which then fuse into one giant bud. After that, the bud swallows you into a chamber with HUMPHREY's face, which keeps swallowing you over and over again. You last fight his uvula, where one hit of it causes HUMPHREY to regurgitate you out of every mouth you were swallowed by.
• Shin Megami Tensei IV: Played with. Xi Wangmu doesn't eat you... but she does devour the Ring of Gaea members, and they do end up shredding her from the inside while she's trying to fight you outside.
• Skylanders: SWAP Force has not one, but two bosses you fight from the inside:
  • The Fire Viper swallows you whole after you destroy all of the Evilizer Crystals atop its head. Inside its stomach, you find the last Evilizer Crystal and three Fire Geargolems. As soon as you destroy the Evilizer Crystal, the Fire Viper gets a case of indigestion and spits you back out, defeated.
  • Super Evil Kaos, the Final Boss, has four phases. While his first and final phases are set outside his body, his second and third phases have you fight him from inside. After you defeat his first phase, he stuffs you inside his mouth, where you have to destroy all the Evilizer Crystals on his teeth. Once you do that, he spits you out and you enter his head through his ear, where you fight his (rather small) evilized brain for the third phase before he sneezes you out.
• Underhero: In order to defeat El Salserissimo, you have to knock him out by dropping a bomb pepper in his mouth, and then go inside him to find and attack his weak spot before he wakes up and ejects you through one of his nostrils. This must be repeated at least twice more.

• Contra 4 has Black Viper. After she goes One-Winged Angel and you have to go through a Womb Level inside her, you end up in her head, beginning the final fight, where you have to shoot at her brain. The arena is very obviously in the villain's enormous skull; on top of her giant eyes being turned inward to glare at the player character, there is a clear view of Earth from orbit from her gaping mouth.
• Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course has Glumstone The Giant, the three-phased Sequential Boss of the level "Gnome Way Out". After you defeat his second phase, he crushes the platform and eats you. The final phase is set inside his stomach, where you have to platform on several long-necked, skeletonized reptiles' heads to avoid falling into the gastric acid. You fight Glumstone's sentient ulcer, which spits out drumsticks (which will cause any skull hit by them to sink into the gastric acid) and bones (which will cause any skull hit by them to use its tongue to ring a pink cowbell, which you can parry to instantly make all submerged skulls emerge again). Also, there are gnomes in scuba gear that will leap out of the gastric acid to spit darts at you.
• Super Turrican 2 has Jaws, the main boss of the first world. You fight it from inside its open mouth while it constantly rotates around, so you have to avoid falling in the space between the two teeth rows. You have to shoot at its segmented tongue, which it swings as an attack. You also have to avoid acid drops (in its mouth, for some reason).

• Darius Force has Peace Destroyer, the boss of Zone H. Once its mouth is destroyed, you traverse its insides until you reach its tail, where you have to shoot at the core on the back portion to finish the boss off from the inside.
• Thunder Force III has Cerberus, the large, heavily fortified battle cruiser that acts as the messenger for the ORN Empire. After the Fire LEO-03 "Styx" spends the sixth stage flying around Cerberus's exterior, the Styx locates and destroys a launcher that releases ORN fighters, and from there, the Styx begins traveling through Cerberus's narrow interior. Inside, the Styx finds a heavily-armed motherboard and destroys it, defeating Cerberus from within.

• Gears of War: In the second game, the Riftworm is fought by Delta Squad inside it after being swallowed by it.

• Kirby: Right Back at Ya!: In "A Half-Baked Battle", Belly Buster, after assuming its true form, swallows the Royal Racecar with Kirby, King Dedede, and Escargoon inside. To prevent themselves from getting digested, King Dedede and Escargoon pull out a bomb and give it to Kirby to grant him the Bomb Copy Ability. Using this ability, Kirby tosses many bombs inside Belly Buster's stomach, causing the monster to blow up from the inside and be defeated.
• Super Mario Bros. Manga Mania: In volume 14's adaptation of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Froggy reappears and swallows Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and Baby Mario. After the four avoid some Shy Guys, Yoshi finds a Super Star and gives it to Baby Mario. Baby Mario then proceeds to beat up Froggy's uvula, causing Froggy to defecate the characters.

Tabletop Games

• Kingdom Death: The Screaming Antelope has an attack (appropriately called "Gobbled Up") where it swallows the Survivor whole. The player then needs to resolve several events to fight their way out (exiting either with serious injury or with very rare resources) or die.
