An international magazine for women, focusing on sex, relationships, health, careers, self-improvement, women's issues, celebrities, fashion and beauty. It was first published in 1886 in the United States as a family magazine and evolved from that; when Helen Gurley Brown become its chief editor in 1965, she remodeled it into what it is today.
In the 2010s, its related blogs were generally anonymous and rather individualistic, focusing on first-hand experiences of all of the topics listed above — so "Cosmo" had a bit of notoriety online due to inaccurate speculations about the male psyche and the Double Standards of the bloggers at times.
At the same time, don't take it too seriously.

- All Women Are Lustful: Just try finding an issue that doesn't mention sex somewhere on the front cover.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The magazine's origin in a previous century addressing the social preoccupations of that century's women. It was also a literary magazine at one point. Would you believe that The War of the Worlds was published in it?
- One-Word Title: "Cosmopolitan" is just one word and is its title.
- Spear Counterpart: Just as Cosmopolitan is aimed at women, there are magazines that can be considered its mirror image aimed at men, such as Loaded.
