Wednesday/Enid
- In the pilot, the two quickly open up to each other despite not getting off on the right foot, and Enid happily tries to hug Wednesday as soon as they meet.
- In one episode, Wednesday flat out threatens Enid's date if he hurts her. One of the few times Wednesday actually gets sad is when a fight causes Enid to move out, and when Enid moves back in it's because she thinks she has to take care of Wednesday and Thing.
- Wednesday joins the Poe Cup after learning that Bianca plans to cheat and humiliate Enid. Though she tries to downplay it, it is clear that Wednesday has become super protective. After they win, Enid attaches herself to Wednesday's side for the rest of the episode and brings their faces close together, with Wednesday for once not backing away from the touch.
- Wednesday has been kicked out, and Enid is sad; Wednesday tries to reassure Enid that the mark she left on Wednesday is "indelible," which comes off as a romantic confession to many fans.
- In the final episode, Enid even finally learns to transform to save Wednesday and the two finally hug when it is all over. Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers' extremely close real-life friendship has only enhanced it.
- Enid once points out to Wednesday that they shouldn't work as friends as well as they do in a way that sounds like a line from an Opposites Attract Romantic Comedy:
- This was further reinforced by the novelization. Wednesday's inner dialogue is simply full of her caring about Enid and admiring her body both in human and werewolf forms, to the point she is actually jealous of Ajax going out with her roommate.
- Unlike the series, Wednesday displays very little interest towards Tyler but decides to pursue him anyway simply because it could give her something to talk about with Enid.
- Likewise, in Ajax's first appearance in the novel, Enid draws out the last vowel of his name when speaking "flirtatiously", as Wednesday puts it. Later in the novel, Wednesday notes that Enid spoke to her in that very same "long-vowels teasing tone" twice.note This can be suggesting that Enid's relationship to Wednesday is just as affectionate as her relationship with Ajax, and that those two occasions were actually Enid's way of flirting with Wednesday!
- The Season 2 trailer has Wednesday have a vision of Enid dying which clearly devastates her. The rest of the trailer has her determined to learn a way to save Enid or "die trying". Needless to say, Wenclair shippers and a lot of other fans were quick to call out how romantic the situation is out of context. Some even question if they got the idea from a fanfiction.
- The Season 2 trailer shows Wednesday's fans at Nevermore creating a wall of fanart dedicated to her, which includes this drawing
of what appears to be Wednesday and Enid holding hands together under a rainbow with a heart symbol above them, implying that some Nevermore students ship Wednesday together with Enid In-Universe. - Enid admits to her new love interest, Bruno, that she considers Wednesday the "tunnel at the end of [her] light" and that she can't imagine her life without Wednesday, which came off as romantic to a lot of fans.
- The scene where Wednesday tells Enid to think of her as Enid's "dark cloud" and Enid says "always", also came off a very flirty to fans.
- Enid's dislike and jealousy of Wednesday hanging out with Agnes, rather than her, made her come off like a jealous girlfriend to many fans.
- In Season 2 part 2, Enid calls Wednesday her pack. Wednesday says that if Enid becomes a werewolf forever, she would find Enid. Enid is able to hear Wednesday's heartbeat when is buried. Enid even transforms into a werewolf forever just to save Wednesday. All of these moments come off as super romantic to a lot of fans, despite the writers meaning them to just be friendship moments.
- In Season 2 episode 6, Enid and Wednesday end up swapping bodies. In order to get back at Wednesday over a misunderstanding, Enid starts acting out extremely. She wears a very loud shirt that just so happens to have the bisexual flag colors.
- Before switching back bodies, Wednesday and Enid confess how much they admire each other, which is then followed by them staring and smiling at each other for several seconds before passing out. Also, as many fans have noted, Wednesday starts leaning towards Enid before they even pass out, giving the impression that she was planning to kiss Enid.
- Wednesday's stand-in for Enid in her book, Evelyn, is supposed to be insulting. Still, many fans took note of how Wednesday writes about her Author Avatar, Viper, having to save Evelyn constantly, which, to many fans, comes off as someone writing stories about themselves and their crush.
- Season 2 ends with Wednesday keeping her promise to find Enid. She leaves Nevermore and heads out with Uncle Fester to go search for Enid. This too a lot of fans came off as super romantic and shows just how much she much she cares about Enid with the dialogue indicating that while Wednesday will do her best to transform Enid back to normal, if that turns out to be impossible she would still have wolf Enid at her side regardless.
- Post-Season 2 the official Wednesday Twitter account (which is in character as Wednesday) tweeted out "If Enid is an alpha, consider me the omega.", which raised a lot of shippers' eyebrows due to the terms "alpha" and "omega" being commonly used in Omegaverse fanworks.
Other
- Wednesday and Bianca's rivalry has a couple of eyebrow raising moments. Most notably during the dance Wednesday has heart-to-heart moments with both her male love interests, Xavier and Tyler, but also Bianca, which to many shippers came off like listing her among Wednesday's love interest.
- Although small, Xavier and Ajax have their moments being close friends. While talking to Enid, Ajax at one point in their conversation affectionally refers to Xavier as 'my man' while at the same time commenting that Xavier has a hidden side that few realize and that he has a complicated relationship with his father, something that Xavier has not even revealed to Wednesday.
- In the parents weekend episode, Xavier can be seen happily sitting at a table with Ajax and his mothers, implying that he has a good relationship with Ajax's family or that Ajax is fond enough of Xavier to introduce him to his family.
- Morticia is quite affectionate with Weems, even though Weems dislikes her. Morticia even proudly reminisces at one point about their duet in the school talent show.
- Agnes' fangirling over Wednesday can come off as some like a crush. She even makes it clear that she wouldn't mind Wednesday cutting her and using her blood to sign her book.
- Between Isadora Capri and Dr. Rachel Fairburn. Wednesday interrupts a meeting between them where Capri is out of breath, seeming like Interrupted Intimacy. Later, Fairburn touches Capri's back as she guides her around Willow Hill and affectionately gazes with a smile as Capri passionately plays piano.
