Funny Moments in Hitman 3
A positively shocking family reunion...

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

    General
  • The Trinity pack suitcase descriptions. The white one mentions it can be used to hide memories of 2016, the red one mentions it can be used to hide memories of 2018 and the black one mentions it can be used to hide memories of 2020.note
    • All three red items also mention that they also come in MKII variants.
  • As with the previous two games, 47 can subdue his targets, as well as other NPC's, by restricting them in a chokehold. While most of the targets will question why 47 hasn't killed them yet, or demand that he let them go, several of them can result in a humorous Mood Whiplash.
Marcus Stuyvesant: Okay, this is weird, but if we're just going to stand here I might as well ask... What do you think of Omar's building?
Agent Green: Agent, this is very flattering, but we both know where this is going.
Agent Thames: Are you waiting for permission or something!?
Agent Rhodes: Hoo boy, this is... kinda hurting the old... whole neck, ok, ok uh, Uncle? Uncle? I said Uncle you can let me go? Come on let me go? Come on, this is... ok you're getting me mad now, ok let me go. I'm serious, ok stop messing around. come on...! ok, don't get me mad, you're getting me mad, and I'm gonna...! You're gonna be...! You're gonna get it...! Come on, let me gooo!
Imogen Royce: So... have you seen any good films recently?
Tamara Vidal: At least do me the courtesy of showing me why Diana kept you around.
  • Like usual, NPCs will say a random voiceline if you get too close to them, but two stands out in particular:
Can you smell it? I had beans, and I think they were off. Sorry. [farts]
I'm going to inhale sharply, and you are going to lose consciousness, because of your proximity to me, there won't be enough oxygen within this square meter, for you and I to continue to survive! Who do you want to put money on, sir? I'd put money on me!
  • If guards catch you trying to walk past them into a restricted area wearing a ninja suit like the White Shadow, they will have dialogue admonishing you for not being stealthy enough to just sneak past them like the ninja you’re supposed to be.
  • An update in Feburary 2026 silently added items inside every briefcase that the player can use (except the Rifle Case, which hadn't been released yet). These range from the boring (the Black Leather briefcase contains books, the in-level Brown Leather Briefcase contains someone's packed lunch), a briefcase filled with a few Call-Backs (the Aluminum Travel Briefcase contains one item from each location from 2016, such as, amusingly, two stolen chocolates from the Himmapan Hotel, a folded american flag, and a Paris Fashion Magazine), a Briefcase Full of Money (which can be found in the Golden and ICA Briefcase MKIII), but perhaps the oddest inclusion is the ICA Executive Briefcase having an open bible and wooden cross hidden inside it.

    Dubai
  • The Sheikh talks about how he got his start in business with a small loan from his father.
  • Throwing a gold ingot at the Sheikh during his announcement, which nets you an achievement.
  • As excellent as the game's engine is, it doesn't know how to handle you assassinating someone by chucking them off the side of the skyscraper. The picture-in-picture shows some extremely hyperactive Ragdoll Physics in action as the body rapidly bounces around, and there may not be a background for all of it, with the body instead flailing in front of a black background.
  • The explosive golf ball from Sapienza returns as one method of killing Ingram. A janitor near the server room admits to having made it, telling her friend she'll take up anger management classes instead.
  • Killing Stuyvesant and Ingram before or during Grey's speech to them in the lounge, which he tries to guide you towards, will prompt Grey to say one of these lines:
[sounding surprised] That was unexpectedly fast...
[sounding snarky] Not a patient man, are you?
[sounding unhappy and disappointed] Oh ok, well done... I guess...
[sounding monotone] Alright, that's that then...
  • One of the challenges requires killing the targets by placing a Banana Peel near a ledge, then activating the evacuation procedure, resulting in either of them slipping to their doom.
  • A couple of guards outside the penthouse discuss Ingram's Hair-Trigger Temper over noises. One of the guards mentions that when a neighbour complained about noise, he (the guard) kicked down the neighbour's door, stuck a gun in his face and threatened him into moving out. It turns out the neighbour was his brother-in-law.
  • Inside the penthouse, a guard can be heard telling off a maid for playing the radio. The maid whines that she would work slower without the radio and walks off, the guard muttering "I think I'm in love".
  • In the server room, there's a Freeze-Frame Bonus if you look at the server's activity logs. Turns out someone is using those servers to download funny dog videos.
  • After hacking the servers, you can choose to "deposit emergency funds." Picking that option will cause the ATM downstairs to spit out a huge amount of gold bars.

    Dartmoor
  • One of the ways to kill Carlisle is to sneak up on her as she screams into a pillow, grab the pillow and smother her.
    • Carlisle screaming into the pillow is pretty funny. You can almost make out the long stream of expletives she's screaming.
  • An out of universe example is the fact that many players will fix the laboratory in the conservatory just because they can, leave to explore, and be caught completely by surprise when they're told their target is dead, because you only learn that Emma used the lab equipment to make poison to kill Zachary and intends to kill Alexa using the same method by playing through the detective storyline; if you just happen to fulfil the requirements (triggering the family meeting and fixing the lab) while doing something else, Emma will just quietly carry out her plan in the background. There's no Opportunity for this, making it even less likely to figure out, but you still get an Achievement for it. One can just imagine Agent 47 going I Meant to Do That and taking credit for Emma's murder.
  • If the player follows the "A Day to Remember" opportunity, expose the wire in front of the camera and create a water leak. The moment 47 is disguised as the photographer, and take a photo of the family, the player is treated with the photograph of Alexa being electrocuted with the rest of her family not reacting to her.
    • Or even better, rigging something explosive so that when the photo is taken, you blow up the entire Carlisle family in a single shot, with the camera capturing the moment.
  • The sheer fact that one of the valid options for getting an Opportunity is for 47 to take the role of a detective to solve a recent murder on the premise using his methodical mindset. Meaning that 47 can solve up to two near-untraceable murder cases specifically just as pretext to create a third one.
  • 47 can dress up as a gravedigger to show Carlisle the arrangements for the faked burial site. Madame Carlisle is so busy criticizing the traditional portrait of the deceased adorned with white lilies that she doesn't notice 47 directly behind her. A prompt appears reading 'push,' but instead, 47 gives Carlisle a cartoonish punt in the butt, sending her flying to her demise in the open grave... which he proceeds to casually fill in with dirt, burying her for real.

    Berlin
  • Outside the club is a rather suspicious man wearing sunglasses and overalls asking you to obtain his "allergy pills" (clearly party drugs). If he's handed them, he gets you a place in the club as his number two, while continuing to emphasize the double-entendres in his speech. Despite his weirdness, he actually isn't one of the undercover agents.
  • A oiled-up man in a speedo only listed as "Icelandig Party Guy" by the game is one of the first people you see before you get to the balcony overlooking the mosh pit. All he's doing is jumping up and down and grooving with the techno beats without a care in the world, and it just looks hilarious. He also re-appears in "The Lust Assignation" and, instead of dancing, he just sways about instead.
  • The club owner has the infamous "Potato Jesus" in his storeroom.
  • You can get a lot of mileage out of the small bathroom in the basement security office, using it to hide the bodies of at least half a dozen people if you position the bodies properly. The lengthy process of turning it into a storage room to make the office a good place for unnoticed assassinations, along with the absurdity of the repurposing of a one-person bathroom in this way to maintain stealth, can result in a player-created Overly Long Gag.
  • After completing the mission you can find a particular exit by going to a telephone booth and dialling a specific number found via graffiti in the level. Doing so has you get abducted by aliens and the mission ends. Successfully at that.
  • Disguising as the drug dealer allows 47 to lure male civilians wearing disguises using his usual double entendres.
Psst, you wanna see rainbows of black?
  • Speaking of the drug dealer disguise, you can offer drugs to club patrons... and find out that poor 47 has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
Do you like drugs? I got some.
  • The cutscene that plays after completing the Berlin mission features a bizarrely-phrased line that'll make any player do a double take if they've tuned out.
Arthur Edwards: Power is a tool, Miss Burnwood. It's the thing that gets you to the thing.

    Chongqing
  • The infamous "Hey...listen!" meme comes from this level, where if you trigger a certain conversation with the homeless people, a loud voice line will play all over the level several minutes later. It's already funny outside of the intended context, as it sounds like Navi had suddenly appeared to warn you of something. In-context, it's just as funny, as the line originates from a conversation where a homeless man boasts towards a couple about getting rich due to wanting to participate in Hush's experiments, and tells the man that "he can take his girl out if he wanted to", which prompts the man to say the immortal line in response.
  • Being an ICA analyst is such a high stress job that they often get into fistfights with each other over stupid reasons. One guard mentions they had one over an egg salad sandwich and just recently got into one over a stolen box of expensive pencils. Another guard reveals that he stole them and the first guard angrily says that he owes him for the trouble he went through.
  • If you take the tour of the ICA facility, the guide mentions that the noodle shop makes a good front for operatives to secretly enter the facility as no one notices a cook showing up to work. An NPC across the street tells her friend how weird it is that four cooks entered the noodle shop in the middle of the night.
  • One method of getting into The Block is by disguising as a homeless person. As the guard complains about the stench of the clothing, this exchange occurs:
Guard: When did you last change your outfit? Seriously?
47: I change my clothes all the time.
Guard: Yeah, I bet you do!
  • If you pick the Block starting location, three guards next to you will talk about how adorable kids look when they're sleeping, then about how adults look like imbeciles when they sleep. One guard denies this - by pointing out that one of their compatriots (who is currently sleeping) "looks like an imbecile when he's awake" too. This is par for the course for NPC conversations in Hitman ...except that this conversation has subtitles, reserved only for some (not even all!) mission-relevant voice lines. This conversation leads nowhere useful, ends as quickly as it starts, and is generally a bit of an oddity, which just makes it all the more hilarious that it was included in the game. There's no telling how many players stuck around listening to these guards when they spawn in expecting someone to say something useful for the mission, and get nothing but two people bickering instead.
  • On the bridge from the train station you find two lanes; one for cell phones, and the other for no cell phones, the sign for cell phones really sells it:
Cellphones: Walk in this lane at your own risk

    Mendoza
  • 47, posing as a wine expert, gives a tour of the vineyard and making various comments about how many bodies the facilities can contain.
  • 47 (or at least his long-time alias Tobias Rieper) apparently has a social media account, which Tamara Vidal claims to be filled with "bland generic tourist photos" from "every cliched attraction known to man". The guard Vidal speaks to in the security room points out he could just be ahead of the curve.
  • Talking to Diana and Vidal as Tobias Rieper too many times will cause the latter to invite 47 for a private meeting. Despite being an obvious trap, 47 continues his "corporate liquidator" ruse. During said meeting, Vidal boasts about the confrontation being "five against one", resulting in 47 quipping:
  • Having a glass of wine at the tasting room has the server hammily vent about Tamara's choice of wine being pinot noir.
  • A guard in the security room with a southie accent is working up the nerve to tell his father that he is a Yankees fan.
  • Once Tamara is eliminated, Diana will proceed to engage in conversations with the other guests. One of them is Dolores Powell, an ex-ICA handler from Overachivers: A Hitman Story who was forced to leave after a disastrous contract. Apparently, her agent thought it was a good idea to try an "accident" kill M.O. similar to 47 during a Christmas party. He managed to kill everyone but the target and got himself killed, and Dolores was fired. She's still a bit bitter about 47 "showing off".
  • When 47 is escorting the valuable 1945 Grand Paladin wine bottle to Yates' wine cellar, his bodyguard is explaining to him how he's going to keep quiet, open the wine bottle, and pour it out for the guests. 47, in a rare showing of mild frustration, corrects him, as he's going to decant the wine. The bodyguard then calls him out on using Insistent Terminology.
    • If prompted, 47 as the sommelier can give an explanation about the long history of the valuable wine to the guests. Considering it's the same speech the sommelier will give, 47 really is an expert on everything.
    • The wine is described as being incredibly rare (as in, "less than 10 bottles exist" kind of rare), and the game lets you manhandle the bottle to your heart's content. There's something darkly humorous in 47 grabbing a priceless bottle of rare wine before casually dropping it to the ground without a second thought, or tossing it into the nearest wall for no real reason.
    • Alternatively, if 47 follows through on the opportunity, it may get destroyed when Vidal lands on it after being shot.
    • Or you can just straight up drop the bottle right in front of Yates and his guests, causing Yates to chastise you for being so clumsy...right before every NPC in the room turns hostile and starts attacking you.
  • Certain "Themed" suits 47 can wear will not allow the dance prompt to activate with Diana.
  • "That's some sloppy wiring. Just an accident waiting to happen..."
  • This exchange where a businesswoman and someone from the Mendoza Local Council talk about a flooding incident when a local dam burst, destroying a village:
Businesswoman: Awful shame what happened. It was the most charming little village. Almost made it onto the UNESCO World Heritage list. Must have been some rainfall...
Councilman: Yes, terrible, terrible shame. I blame climate change. Nothing we at the Mendoza Local Council could have done about it, of course. Man plans and God laughs and all that.
Businesswoman: So you don't think the construction of a brand new dam right on the other side of the village might have had anything to do with the flooding? The dam that conveniently redirects the underground water flow to this very vineyard, bypassing the local ban on irrigation?! The very same dam that was donated by a "foreign benefactor", whose name is lazily, Yates, in reverse?
Councilman: Nonsense! Mr. Setay is an honest businessman, and Mr. Yates is a pillar of the community; he would never think to break the rules. He, a gentleman of the law? You should be ashamed of yourself, ma'am. Good day to you!
  • If you sabotage the wine pump and flood the factory with wine, Gabriel Vargas will storm in and loudly wail. When Yates arrives and chews out the employees, he tells them to get Vargas "a towel and a shot of horse tranquillizer".
  • If you go up to the office next to the pumps, you can hear one of the workers relay a story about how one of his former colleagues accidentally made the whole place smell like bacon for weeks. Bad enough already but Yates' wife is also vegan.
  • Even though it is a prime objective to NOT Eliminate Diana Burnwood, there are still prompts to kill Diana when the opportunity arises, like pushing her off a balcony into the vineyard, or into the grape crusher, or wine vats, crushing her with a grape presser or drowning her, and obviously these all fail you which is darkly funny and developers foresight to make that objective because they know the player will do everything in their power to kill Diana.
    • Even funnier is when if you shoot Diana in the leg, she will fall to the ground in pain, but will stand up again and act like nothing happened, and there is not a bullet in her leg.

    Carpathian Mountains
  • There's a guard and doctor you can encounter, where they talk about commercial uses for the serum; removing PTSD episodes from soldiers for example. The guard counters this, by saying that all he needs to get rid of bad memories is his old friend; Al-cohol.
  • One of the mercenaries doubts 47's abilities at fighting, feeling that he relies too much on stealth. He then contemplates how he could probably beat him in a fist fight, if given the opportunity. Given that the level allows 47 to kill everyone on the map...
Mercenary 1: It's ridiculous if you ask me! Whole train full of mercs to guard one guy?
Mercenary 2: You do know who he is...right?
Mercenary 1: Sure sure, everyone's very impressed, I get it, I get it. And if you want some elaborate planned calamity or a convenient heart attack... sure, he's your man! But how does he manage in a brawl? I'm willing to bet that he doesn't hold a candle to any of us. Too much sneaking around and dressing up, too little fighting...
Mercenary 2: Right... You feel like putting that theory to the test?
    Mercenary 1: I just might!
  • When you get to the sleeper carriage of the traincar, you can disguise as a Providence elite soldier, and go past a guard who will greet you, and then tries to grab your attention moments later with an amusing request:
Guard: Yeah, hey. Oh! Can you grab me a soda or something from the fridge? Just whenever you're heading back this way, no rush.
  • You can sneak through the entire level without putting on any clothes and complete it, but going all the way half naked then taking a bit to put on a business suit before the final confrontation is just hilarious.

    Ambrose Island
  • The Slapping Minigame. You play slappers with a bunch of the people on the island, including against Crest's militia. Their reactions to your slapping power leaves them in awe, and Noel attempts to hire you as a result!
Militia 1: Did he freeze his hand or something...?
Militia 2: Son of bitch hits like a pickup truck...
Militia 3: Sir... He just... He doesn't even flinch. And when he hits you... I thought that shit about seeing stars was just in cartoons.
  • While obtaining the satellite's control unit keycards bypasses the need to destroy it, 47 can still do so anyway, resulting in Grey calling him 47 a show-off.
  • If Akka kills Crest after learning of Hsu's death, its possible for her to be blown up by a nearby gas canister afterwards.

    Elusive Targets
  • If planned properly, you can "kidnap" The Iconoclast Elusive Target before killing her.
  • The Liability is so pathetic and incompetent at his job, finding excuses to ignore obvious hazards and take naps, that it's almost hilarious.
  • In the introduction to The Heartbreaker:
Diana: I doubt Newcombe's assassination is on the couple's gift registry, but given his intentions, it's better than silverware.
    • Newcombe will suggest "orange lilies and purple gladioli to play on the 'sunset vineyard' motif", only for one of the couple to point out those are Halloween colors.
  • Two moments in The Disruptor/ The Wizard stand out:
    • In The Disruptor version of the mission, the MoC is angrily corrected by The Disruptor to call him "The Disruptor", instead of simply just "Disruptor", and calls him "Mr. The Disruptor" in response. In the middle of the match, he continues to use this Insistent Terminology.
    • In both missions, Quinn's trainer purports to be a former ICA Agent. Not too shabby, but then they say they were known as Agent 47, the best in the business. The scripted way of taking Quinn's place involves knocking the guy out, which is easy to imagine as 47 getting some revenge for using his name.
    • The trainer in the Wizard, as a part of their redesign, also sports a fake beard, which 47 also adopts if he disguises as him. Quinn doesn't seem to notice this.
    • In Tne Wizard, choosing to take Quinn's place will make a DJ with pink cat ears ask 47 what music they should have when going up to the ring to hype up the crowd. 47 asks for something from "the classics", which turns out to be a techno remix of "Ave Maria".
    • In The Wizard, there's a conversation between two Ark Members in the gallery room about...catboys. Someone called Andrew is mentioned, and is apparently really big on collecting images of them, to the point of having a desktop folder named as such, with one of the two patrons discovering this in a screenshare call with them. The other member is confused by what Catboys refers to, asking if it's to do with a Cashmeran company, and the former member says it is not, and the two quickly switch conversations. This is one Big-Lipped Alligator Moment that has no relevance to the mission, the player is not expected to be in this part of the level, and is basically an Easter Egg for those who ventured outside of the intended playspace.
  • Dismissing certain workers to take over their operations is a large part of The Splitter:
    • If you dismiss the female scientist who’s testing the clone doing the splits between the platforms, she says she’ll “get out of your hair” dismissively, until she turns around and notices the very bald 47. Where she then apologizes.
    • If you dismiss the guard who’s looking over the shooting range clones, he’ll call the clones “freaks” before he leaves. In an extraordinarily rare moment of 47 being offended by someone, 47 retaliates by muttering under his breath. “I think you’re the freak.” Implying that clone slander is either something 47 doesn’t stand for, or it’s an indirect insult at 47.
  • In The Banker, if things go wrong, 47 will be tied up in the basement, where several funny moments occur:
    • Wait long enough, and you are rescued by Agent Smith! He takes the opportunity to gloat over the sudden turn of events, and in a rare case of showing annoyance, 47 barks at him to get on with rescuing him.
    • 47 is also stripped down to his skivvies, just like Agent Smith usually is. Though Smith does offer his tuxedo, and he goes clothes-less once more.
    • Also, you can follow him, and he just...saunters out of the basement, in full view of staff.
    • While escaping the basement, you can hear one of Le Chiffre's guard telling a security guard about what they're doing downstairs — apparently making a porno, which worries the guard. He also knows who Le Chiffre is, as he heard that he eats people.
  • "The Reflection":
    • When you first see Slim Shady, Eminem will tell you to "pop his ass," to which Diana replies that this isn't how they do things. Eminem objects with "You're no fun. Never heard of a speedrun?"
    • Related to the above, if you do finish the mission fast enough, Diana will call it an Anti-Climax, Eminem will complain that you didn't see all of the "cool shit" the mission has to offer, and Diana will rush through the "Well done, 47" speech with a Blah, Blah, Blah.
    • If you complete the mission story and have Eminem kill Slim Shady, Diana, of all people, will tell you to "get the fuck out of there." It's quite surprising to hear her normally level-headed voice swear like this.
    • In the garage, you can find a mortician talking about surprising items found inside corpses. This includes a gerbil, referencing Eminem's song "FACK" (where Slim Shady shoves a gerbil up his ass through a tube). Also a bit of Self-Deprecation on Eminem's part, as "FACK" is infamously regarded as his worst song and he's well aware of its reputation.
  • "The Harbinger":
    • One of the guests Lilith speaks to is quite clearly an Upper-Class Twit. When he and his friend inquire about her exotic perfume, she says it's actually formaldehyde, which the guest assumes to be a new line by Sanguine called "Formal de Hyde".
    • When Lilith is trying to get H.E.R.B. to hand over the virus to her, she becomes increasingly frustrated with him to the point she begins threatening him. H.E.R.B. can only apologise and asks if they're still friends.
      • H.E.R.B.'s chipper demeanour never changes, even while stating he had to kill the scientists to prevent the virus from leaving the lab and then later trying to kill you.
    • After recording her manifesto to upload online, Lilith and Maria gloat about it.
      Lilith: Aaaaaand... upload. Yay! Exciting.
Maria: Yep, all uploaded. Best manifesto ever, girl!
    • When trying to figure out how to upload the manifesto, Maria explains the idea of chain mails by referencing the infamous Bloody Mary chain email and even wonders why they didn't call the virus that.
    • If her manifesto is leaked to the response team leader, him and 47 will head upstairs to confront Lilith. She pulls out her gun and then gloats about slaughtering the crew personally, only to immediately be killed by the leader's shotgun or 47 himself.
    • Gregory will also take the time to hype himself up in a mirror, and calls himself a "coherent, masculine MAN!", and calling himself an alpha dog, and then starts barking like a bulldog.
    • Gregory may tell Lilith about meme stocks and suggest that Ether "[does] a meme" to increase their shares, unaware of how either work.
