FeardotCom is a 2002 American/Luxembourgian horror film directed by William Malone and starring Stephen Dorff, Natascha McElhone and Stephen Rea, while Udo Kier and Jeffrey Combs appear in minor roles.
Four dead bodies are found in New York City. The coincidence? They all died 48 hours after logging on to a site named feardotcom.com. Tough homicide detective Mike Reilly (Dorff) teams up with Department of Health associate Terry Huston (McElhone) to research these mysterious deaths. But the only way to find out what really happened is to enter the site itself...

- Ambiguous Ending: At the end of the film, Terry gets a phone call with nothing but static. It's never revealed if this is Jeannie calling to "thank" her, or Mike trying to communicate with her.
- Arc Words: “Do you want to play?” The question Jeannie always ask before the website’s curse takes hold.
- Artistic License – Medicine: Jeannie's mother claims that Jeannie, as a hemophiliac, could've died from just a single scratch. Even in severe hemophiliacs, sustaining a scratch does not automatically put a patient at risk of imminent death; rather, it simply takes longer than normal to heal properly.
- Asshole Victim: Pratt.
- Big "NO!": Terry when Alistair shoots Mike.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: The titular website is a dark web snuff film ring where Alistair tortures his victims to an audience.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Alistair's victims are brutally tortured for hours or days until they're so broken they beg him for death.
- Department of Redundancy Department: Technically, the website is called feardotcom.com.
- Disproportionate Retribution: The website will kill anyone who accesses it, regardless of their intent. Polidori and Denise are both cursed simply for investigating the site. This is especially harsh, as the site is interactive, and allows people to directly communicate with Jeannie before cursing them.
- Driven to Suicide: Denise. Their death confuses Mike at first because it doesn't fit the 48-hour pattern.
- Explosive Overclocking: The website destroys any computer that accesses it.
- Haunted Technology: The website was hijacked by the ghost of one of the victims of Alistair Pratt.
- The Hero Dies: Mike succumbs to his fatal gunshot wound after unleashing the website on Alistair.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Pratt is killed after Mike shows him Jeannie's website, which happens to be the site Pratt used to broadcast Jeannie's torture and murder.
- Karmic Death: Pratt is killed by Jeannie's vengeful ghost, tortured and killed just as he did to her and so many other helpless victims.
- Kick the Dog: Jeannie appears to Polidori as he's dying, first in her child form, then her ghost form. This is after he tried to save her child form from being hit by a train.

- Ominous Visual Glitch:
- Whenever people click on the site, it first manifests as a dark blot spreading across the screen.
- At the end of the film, when Jeannie traps Pratt's soul in Cyberspace, it's shown as a sepia version of reality which is constantly glitching and shimmering.
- Police Are Useless: The cops know Alistair's name and how he operates. Somehow, they are completely incapable of catching him.
- Riddle for the Ages: It's never revealed why Terry gets a phone call at the end.
- Serial Killer / Deadly Doctor: Alistair "The Doctor" Pratt is a twisted killer who kidnaps women and tortures them until they beg for death before "euthanizing" them on his snuff films.
- Shout-Out:
- The underwater sequence where Terry finds Jeannie's body in a flooded steel mill is clearly inspired by Inferno.
- Jeannie's child form, a little girl with platinum blonde hair and a white ball, is taken directly from Toby Dammit.
- Supernatural Aid: Jeannie appears to hold absolutely no malice towards Mike when he accesses the website, stating that she knows who he is and what his goal is finding Alistair, which they both share and she answers every question he asks. Though her apparition torments him as it had with all the other victims, she gives him an important hint during their interaction, her lipstick.
- Too Dumb to Live: The man who goes directly into the path of the subway train.
- Vengeful Ghost: Jeannie is especially vengeful and her wrath is reserved for those who log onto the website. The reason is because doing so means one is willing to watch torture like she went through, provoking her anger. But she especially wants a piece of her murderer, Alistair Pratt, as he's not even a willing visitor to the site when Jeannie's ghost is sicced on him.
