Father Finster
is a Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers prequel fanfiction, which began in March 2026. It is penned by NoonboryKedabory, and is one of the first stories to use her alias of "Ms. K".
The story takes place fifteen thousand years ago, during the time when Finster, Rita Repulsa's chief monster-maker, was an ordinary sculptor living on the planet Claydoious with his wife, Plepra. One day, the couple welcome a child, a daughter named Meiko, and the narrative follows Finster and Plepra raising their baby together.

Tropes:
- Aerith and Bob: The residents of St. Lamros Village; some have uncommon, but Earthly names, such as Finster, Meiko, Emera, and Yonas, while others have more alien-sounding names, such as Plepra, Lumira, and Kelisa, and then there's a Terrichaun just called Bob.
- Alliterative Family: Each Pongie seen has a name beginning with "Ba", as seen with King Batuee, Balthazar, Barbara, Battina, Basil, Bayano, Banzai, and Baboo.
- Baby's First Words: In "Papa's Sick Day", Plepra doesn't allow Meiko near Finster while he has a cold. Meiko doesn't understand and cries, eventually uttering her first word: "Papa".
- Bizarre Alien Reproduction: Terrichaun babies come from a plant called the Renaissance Blossom. To conceive, the plant must be fed a hunk of meat infused with the DNA of the parents.
- Canon Character All Along: In "Pongie Visitors", one of the four Pongies present is an infant. Late in the chapter, the mother of this baby refers to him by name: Baboo, another one of Rita Repulsa's future henchmen.
- Color Motif: Meiko and purple/lavender. She is born from a lavender flower, first swaddled in a lavender blanket, her nursery is painted lavender, her first outfit is a purple dress, and Marna gifts her a purple nightgown.
- Companion Cube: In "Toddlers are Weird", Meiko becomes attached to a clay creature she makes, which she calls Gogo. She carries it everywhere and seems to believe it's alive. At the end, she squishes it back into a ball and loses interest completely, much to Finster's irritation.
- Find the Cure: In "Pongie Visitors", a small group of Pongies, an alien species from another planet, come to Claydoious searching for medicinal marigolds, a plant native to the planet that is said to cure any disease. As such, a travel party is organized with Finster, Plepra, Meiko, Yonas, and Emera escorting the Pongies into the big city to collect the flowers.
- Healing Herb: One of Claydoious' most famous crops is medicinal marigolds, a perennial flower that, when mixed into food and/or drink, can heal any disease or injury within a span of hours or days.
- Illness Blanket: In "Pongie Visitors", Barbara Pongie keeps her sick baby wrapped up in a sheet slung over her shoulder.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Emera is self-absorbed and rather unempathetic, but she does genuinely care about her fellow Terrichauns and other visiting aliens.
Word of God explains her selfish side as being undiagnosed Narcissistic Personality Disorder. - Mythology Gag:
- Claydoious and the Planet of the Pongies are both lifted from the Boom! Studios comic books.
- Meiko's name is an homage to Mei, the Pink Ranger of Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, and her actress, Reiko Chiba.
- In "Papa's Sick Day", Meiko wears a black dress with white sleeves, based on the dress Plepra wore in her first comic appearance, "Perfect".
- New Baby Episode:
- The first chapter is about the planting and later birth of Meiko.
- "Little Accidents" has an interlude on the Planet of the Pongies, concerning the early birth of a baby (later revealed to be Baboo).
- Premature Birth Drama: "Little Accidents" shows that Baboo was delivered three weeks early. As such, he was born with no wings and an underdeveloped immune system. Luckily, he's in much better health by his first birthday.
- Screaming Birth: Barbara Pongie screams, shouts, and swears her way through her entire delivery of her son.
- Sick Episode: In "Papa's Sick Day", Finster has a winter cold.
- Slapstick: Finster attempts to rock Meiko in the rocking chair, however she is not tired and pulls his beard.
- Symbol Swearing: In "Little Accidents", Barbara swearing at Battina is represented by a jumble of symbols.
- Wanted a Son Instead: Subverted; when Meiko is born, Finster initially assumes she is a boy, until Plepra points out otherwise. The narrative also mentions they had been debating this topic for months. However, Finster is delighted at the birth of his child regardless of her gender.
