Scream is a world where you can be considered lucky if you’re just stabbed once or even shot in the head. Unfortunately, a good number of the cast are not so lucky. As this is a death trope, expect major unmarked spoilers below.
Scream (1996)
- According to the news reporters in Woodsboro, Cotton Weary raped and tortured Maureen Prescott before killing her. The truth is that Cotton had consensual sex with Maureen and left her before the real killers arrived, but that still means that Billy and Stu tortured Maureen before killing her.
- Steve Orth was tied up and disemboweled with his guts exiting the front of his body. He's still very much alive when this is happening and only dies when it's over.
- Casey Becker is stabbed multiple times, Gutted Like a Fish and then strung up a tree for her parents to find.
- Tatum Riley really takes the cake as she is stuck in a garage door pet flap while trying to escape the killer, after which the killer decides to open said door. What follows is Tatum slowly and helplessly rising to the top before having her head visibly crushed while simultaneously being electrocuted. Yeesh!
Scream 2
- Phil Stevens is left to bleed out in a bathroom stall after being stabbed in the ear.
- Maureen Evans is stabbed several times in front of a large crowd who cheers it on thinking it’s a stunt, only realizing otherwise when it’s too late. Easily the most humiliating death of the series.
- Officer Richards becomes stuck on the hood of his own car while the killer is driving maniacally. He meets his end by having his head impaled by a pipe.
- Derek Feldman is tied, hazed and humiliated up by his frat buddies for expressing his love for Sidney, leaving him exhausted and alone, and then he's later shot while restrained and trying to plead his innocence to an untrusting Sidney.
Scream 3
- Steven Stone is bludgeoned and stabbed, leaving him horrifically bloody before he walks over to the rest of the Stab 3 cast and dies.
- Tom Prinze is blown up, and he realizes it’s going to happen.
- Tyson Fox receives a drawn out Rasputinian Death starting with him falling on his neck when a rug is pulled out from under him. He is then stabbed and tossed into a glass case before being thrown off a balcony.
- Jennifer Jolie is stabbed to death calling to Dewey and Gale who can't hear or see her while she can see them.
Scream 4
- Jenny Randall is stabbed in the back, has her back crushed by a garage door while trying to escape the killer (complete with a Sickening "Crunch!"). She is then helplessly dragged into her garage and stabbed to death.
- Olivia Morris's death is particularly brutal and drawn out, she gets thrashed about her room and stabbed several times (even through her hand as she tries to defend herself) while her friends are Forced to Watch from the window next door. By the time Ghostface is done, she has been disemboweled and her room is covered in her blood.
- Rebecca Walters is stabbed in the stomach, then thrown off a 10th story building while still conscious, only dying when she lands on a news van in full view of reporters' cameras.
- Deputy Perkins is stabbed through his forehead, rendering him blind. He spends his last moments stumbling around and swinging where he thinks the killer might be before keeling over.
- Trevor Sheldon is tied up and shot in the groin and then the head by Jill.
Scream: The TV Series
- Nina Patterson receives a slash across her back before having her throat slit than being thrown into her pool.
- Rachel Kay Murray thrown off a balcony with her head in a noose that breaks her neck.
- Brett Keener getting stabbed in the eye with a sharp stick.
- Will Belmont getting torn open by a trencher after Emma Duval springs a trap.
- Sheriff Clark Hudson got bludgeoned with a fire poker than tied to a tree, and when Maggie Duval untied him his intestines fell out after he was gutted.
- Jake Fitzgerald got his leg caught in a bear trap before being bludgeoned with an aluminum baseball bat, he was than hung upside-down and disemboweled with a scythe.
- Eddie Hayes got a wine bottle smashed over his head before being stabbed to death with a corkscrew.
- Deputy Dwayne getting thrown through a mirror.
- Haley Meyers getting stabbed multiple times while a rave was going on, she drowned in her own blood before being strung up against a wall.
- Zoë Vaughn drowned in a coffin.
- Mayor Quinn Maddox getting stabbed with a pitchfork.
- A prison guard that was watching over Kieran Wilcox got his head snapped around.
- Sid got his eyes gouged out and half his flayed with a pair of garden shears.
- Billie Field is gutted with a pair of garden shears before falling through a flywire door.
- Sheriff Carpenter having some of his fingers cut off before getting his head chopped off with a pair of garden shears.
- Jeremy Blair getting impaled twice with a pair of garden shears.
- Alex Whitan found dead after being stabbed to death with a pair of garden shears.
Scream: Resurrection
- Deion Elliot getting stabbed in the head with a hook.
- Tommy Jenkins getting stabbed in the neck with a knife before having a plastic bag tapped around head while in his car.
- Avery Collins getting thrown off a balcony and landed on a broken metal beam.
- Shane getting stabbed in the eye with a syringe and injected with narcotics while he was caught in a ladder.
- Luther Thompson getting stabbed in the stomach with a knife and getting crushed in a car compactor.
- Manny getting his leg broken with a tire iron and being trapped in a car that is on fire before it explodes.
- Amir Ayoub got impaled with a bone saw and got severely gutted when the elevator rode up.
- Officer B. Westbrook getting stabbed in the head with a knife before set on fire.
Scream (2022)
- Judy Hicks is knocked down and stabbed multiple times in the chest by Ghostface.
- Then her son Wes is stabbed in the throat by the killer, who holds the knife in, staring down Wes as the latter chokes on his own blood and bleeds to death.
- Dewey, after having survived multiple stabbings over the years, is simultaneously stabbed in the chest and the back and has both knives dragged up through the stomach, resulting in a very bloody death.
Scream VI
- Dr. Stone is stabbed in the face, right through his nose. To add insult to injury, Ghostface doesn't bother finishing Stone off and leaves him to choke and wheeze on his own blood.
- Anika's death is notably prolonged. First, Ghostface chokes her when she tries to save her girlfriend Mindy. Then, they pin her to a wall before stabbing her in the stomach and dragging the knife through her body. This wound ultimately slows her down when it is her turn to cross the ladder between two buildings. By this point, Ghostface has broken free from a barricade set up by Mindy and Sam, and is able to torment Anika by shaking the ladder before tilting it enough to send her plummeting fifty feet to the ground, where she smashes her face into the side of a dumpster and snaps her neck. All of this happens while her girlfriend Mindy is unable to help her.
Scream 7
- Scott gets stabbed several times by Ghostface in back and in the chest, and finally through his head, bulging his eye out and making it cloudy.
- Madison falls off a second floor onto Ghostface's knife and is then burned alive. All of this after watching her boyfriend Scott being murdered.
- Hannah is a victim of Unwilling Suspension and swung around by Ghostface, slashing her arm and leg and then poking her stomach every time she passes. Ghostface then raises the knife, slicing open her stomach and causing her viscera to fall to the floor, killing her.
- Chloe is beaten up, then slid across the bar top into a stack of glasses and has a shard sever her carotid artery and jugular vein.
- Lucas is stabbed in the stomach, left to bleed out for several minutes, then has his head impaled on a spike shaped beer tap with the weight of his body turning it on turning him into a human fountain. The cruelest part? His own mother did this to him.
The Killers
- Even the Ghostfaces aren’t safe from a horrific death as their victims tend to turn the tables on them. They deserve it though.
- Stu Macher is crushed and electrocuted when Sidney pushes a bulky 1990s-style TV on his head.
- Mickey Altieri is shot multiple times before going down.
- Charlie Walker is stabbed in the heart and stomach and is then told by both his Bad Boss and The Hero how he was a pawn the whole time while he bleeds out.
- Jill Roberts is defibrillated at full power in the head, then finished off with a gunshot wound to the chest.
- Jay Elliot is stabbed to death with a trash picker before bleeding out.
- Beth is bludgeoned with a helmet and falls through a ceiling window than finished off with three shots to the chest.
- Richie Kirsch is subject to twenty-two stabs to the face and torso before getting his throat slashed by Sam, who then shoots him multiple times, finishing with a headshot.
- Amber Freeman is tossed about the kitchen, beaten, shot three times, and lit on fire resulting in half her face melting off. She somehow survives this and doesn’t go down until Tara shoots her face.
- Greg Bruckner is stabbed to death before getting dismembered (a first for the franchise). His corpse doesn't even get a chance to rest as his killer then stuffs Greg's body parts into a fridge.
- Jason Carvey doesn't get it much better: he's stabbed repeatedly until his intestines seep out.
- Quinn Bailey is struck in the face with a brick and then shot through the forehead.
- Wayne Bailey sustains over three dozen stabs to the stomach, chest, neck, face, and head before getting a knife to the eye.
- Ethan Landry/Bailey gets several stabs to the chest, a stab through the mouth, and an impalement through the jaw. He bleeds out for a few moments before coming back with a final attack, which leads to Kirby dropping a TV set* on his head.
- Jessica Bowden is stabbed in the leg and stomach repeatedly, hit in the head with a brick, and shot in the face by Tatum and Sidney until they run out of bullets leaving pieces of her face literally falling off.
