- The Amazing Digital Circus:
- When Gangle hesitates Jax's order to chase down the truck the gummy crocodile bandits are using to steal the Candy Canyon's maple syrup, he cuts her off, rhetorically asking if she was supposed to be "submissive and agreeable". At best, this is degrading peer-pressuring on Jax's end, and at worst, it's mild sexual harassment due to it obviously being a reference to the slang phrase "submissive and breedable" (which has BDSM meanings). However, the sheer audacity in the statement as well as it coming out of nowhere loops it right back around into being funny.
- On one hand, Gummigoo's death in episode 2 is pretty depressing; Pomni successfully befriended him and is clearly distraught when it happens. But the way he is killed, being abruptly exploded into confetti by Caine, can be worthy of a cackle. In the "A Very Special Digital Circus Song" short, the exact same thing happens for comedy.
- During the therapy session in "The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor", Caine favorably compares himself to a war criminal to excuse any accidental torment the players endure throughout his adventures. It's dark because the players are genuinely suffering, and Caine's comparison invites a lot of disturbing implications. But it's also hilarious for how readily and obliviously it is exclaimed, as if being a war criminal is the most normal thing in the world.
- Early in "Fast Food Masquerade", Jax shoving Ragatha into the deep fryer at Spudsy's is perhaps the biggest Kick the Dog moment he has done to his fellow captives, but the way Jax says he accidentally put Ragatha in there, the way that her legs violently flail like a tube man while she's stuck, and the way that Gangle doesn't seem that shocked by it turns the cruel moment into an absolutely hilarious one.
- The President Pomni section of "Untitled" has Jax coming into the president's office with a bomb containing the world's deadliest spiders, and Pomni has to defuse it despite the fact there should be a bomb squad. It's a bit of a stressful situation, but the ramping absurdity of seeing the meek Gangle walk in with a bomb strapped to her, being a New Zealand extremist who doesn't actually know what New Zealanders threaten others with, then the bomb blowing up after a Beat with the screen freeze-framing with a "We'll be right back after these messages" has it wrap back around to being incredibly funny.
- BrainPOP:
- While reading fan mail about the reproductive system, Moby bursts into laughter.
- In the "Democracy" video, the intro has Tim lament that his idea for his dance not being chosen. While wearing a toga, he realizes he has another idea for the dance, this one being an Ancient Greek theme. He shouts out "Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga!" to Moby's shock. Tim then smiles.

- The shit that Michael goes through wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't so over-the-top that it looped back to being hilarious.
- The episode where Tyler and Michael see Santa. Michael sits on Santa's lap and says that he's been a good boy this year, but Michael's stepdad points out all the bad things that Michael has done over the year (things which aren't even that bad, such as accidentally clogging the toilet and eating a tube of toothpaste). Santa doesn't give him any presents, then Michael's stepdad blames him for blowing their one chance to get a widescreen TV and gives him "ten across the ass" for Christmas instead.
- "Michael's Revenge" has him headbutted so hard by a female bully that he goes flying through the window, shattering it. When Michael protests to his angry stepdad that it was the girl's fault, Michael's stepdad still punishes him for getting beaten up by a girl.
- One episode has Tyler and his friends play about with airsoft guns. When David haphazardly shoots Michael, Tyler calls David out...because it was his turn to shoot Michael in the face.
- The Monopoly episode where Michael gets grounded for going bankrupt on Luxury Tax, despite him having no control over it, and him staying in jail for as long as he feasibly could to avoid going bankrupt.
- Frequently, Michael gets hurt and starts crying. This wouldn't be funny on its own, but the Running Gag of the "crying baby" sound effect being used every time makes it hilarious.
- The teacher in "Maths Class" being an unstable jackass who yells at kids for making genuine mistakes? Not funny. Said teacher shooting a kid with an M-16 for asking whether the percent sign goes before or after a number and throwing another kid out a window for guessing that the numerator is the bottom part of a fraction? Hilarious!
- The entirety of "Tinkerbell the Cat":
- Tinkerbell utterly annoys everyone by being in heat all the time. It's already funny to imagine how bad it was... then Michael's stepdad tells Michael to "take one for the team".
- Tinkerbell repeatedly sneaks out at night... and at one point gets run over. Then she's put in the trash and picked up by the sanitation workers wondering what's going on.
- Tinkerbell's owner just dies suddenly. Tragic... then Tyler's dad just casually says "We're off the hook" and walks off like nothing happened.
- Tyler imagines Tinkerbell and her owner being reunited in hell... where he has to listen to Tinkerbell in heat forever.
- The shit that Michael goes through wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't so over-the-top that it looped back to being hilarious.
- "Camp RWBY
" is a fan animation of the Camp Camp theme with RWBY characters (itself a reference to a gag in RWBY Chibi). Most of it is just the characters in silly, yet appropriate situations for the lyrics with one exception: the line "we've got archery" is accompanied by an image of when Cinder killed Pyrrha by shooting her through the chest with an arrow. - The somewhat popular G-Mod Christian Brutal Sniper series (viewable here), crosses the line so many times with its joyously-nonchalant killer of a protagonist, it's freaking hilarious.
- DEATH BATTLE!: Quite a few. The very nature of the show means it's going to invoke it at least once an episode, whether it be going over tragic pasts, hilarious deaths, or Boomstick's jokes.
- The concept of some fights will cross the line twice by default, like "Deadpool VS Pinkie Pie" and "Smokey Bear VS McGruff the Crime Dog".
- Link's reveal trailer starts with a joke that Cloud would be facing Aerith. Then it cuts to the "fight"'s death scene, which is Aerith's infamous Plotline Death.
- In "Guts VS Nightmare", Boomstick cracks around the part where he describes Casca getting raped. His description of the sheer amount of bullshit Guts went through is starting to turn into an Aristocrats joke.
- From "Amy Rose VS Ramona Flowers", Namona's bloody corpse with Scott in tears. Ramona explodes into coins and is shown in a spirit form with Scott still in tears kneeling at the coins.
- "Balrog VS TJ Combo": Balrog's severed head? Horrifying and squick-y. Balrog's severed head breaking the camera, ending the broadcast, and making the announcer sick? Hilarious.
- "Ben 10 VS Green Lantern": Green Lantern killing Ben by crushing him is cruel. Doing so with a giant light boot loops around to being hilarious. Doing so by taunting him with the quip the kid told him before and doing it before he could ever say it in the first place loops around twice to being just wrong in the best way. Hal briefly chats with his past self, leaving him confused, and makes it even better, in an even worse way.
- "Goro VS Machamp" has the finishing blow. Goro getting punched so hard by Machamp that he explodes into Ludicrous Gibs? Gruesome. Goro's gibs flying off into orbit? Hilarious.
- The ending to "Steven Universe VS Star Butterfly" qualifies. After killing Steven, Star stands alone on a burning beach littered with bloody corpses. Suddenly she's awarded first place for the sandcastle building contest that started the fight. Star celebrates as if there aren't any dead bodies around her, which is followed by a Steven Universe-esque Iris Out.
- Examples from the spin-off DBX:
- "Thor VS 100 Pikachu": Given his record against Raiden, it's oddly funny to see the God of Thunder turn Pikachu after Pikachu into splats of blood with as much fervor as he would any tougher opponent.
- "Bendy VS Cuphead": Bendy ripping off Cuphead's-ahem- cup head? Brutal. Drinking out of it to kill him and ending with a Cuphead-style "Game Over"? Priceless.
- Optimus in Death Race killing himself for having won through brutality isn't funny. Him doing so by turning into a truck and backing up off the track to fall to his death is.
- Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged Utilizes this trope as often as Dragon Ball Z Abridged. For instance, in season 2, Red XIII finds the rest of the gang in Corell prison by following a trail of dead bodies while stating that he's now full. this means he ate the bodies he followed.
- Happy Tree Friends in all its gory glory.
- But don't take our word for it. Be warned, not for the initially faint of heart. Also, beware over-saturation; violence does desensitize.
- Babies falling onto rotating helicopter blades, characters having their skin pulled off, pulled backward through the kitchen sink with the garbage disposal running, beaten by a shovel, or this crowning moment of sadistic majesty: a squirrel scout dying spasmodically as the two beaters on an electric egg beater enter her eye sockets and turn her brains to jelly (which then leaks out of their head).
- The video for Fall Out Boy's "Carpel Tunnel Of Love" is one Happy Tree Friends gag after another. So-gory-it's-funny moments include: bee-sting in the eye (done twice), screams of pain synced to "Whoo-hoo"s in the music, impalement, decapitation (of the band's cartoon doppelgangers, no less), and two characters having flying pipes shoot through their heads. All this in a music video of a band whose average fan is about 13 years old.
- But don't take our word for it
- Coco Kiryu, a Vtuber from hololive, is constantly pushing the limits on what she can get away with on Youtube and with her bosses. Her streams include, among other things, plenty of cusses in fluent English, Fantastic Drug advertisements, livestreamed full-body waxing, streaming while (accidentally) stoned on sleeping pills, tricking her fellow hololive colleagues into saying lewd things, shoving a tail/suppository drug up one of her colleague's rears, and her infamous 3D model debut stream, wherein she made copious panty shots and talked about going commando. Her antics have earned her some temporary bans from Youtube over her career, as well as the consternation of her bosses, but her success and her status as one of hololive's most popular stars have kept her from being canned.
- Helluva Boss starts jumping rope with the line right in the pilot.
- I.M.P. are assassins for hire, and not only do they make a cheesy TV commercial for such a business, but when they accidentally shoot a child they add the musical sting "Kids die for freeeee!" Later, they deal with the dismembered corpse by dumping it right into the grieving mother's arms on live television, while the network adds insult to injury by captioning the film "Mom Sucks At Drawing Own Kid".
- Homestar Runner:
- In-universe in the episode "Costume Commercial". The "Marzipan" "costume" is just a string bikini, succubus tail, and cat ears. To quote Marzipan herself, "This is so offensive... that it's not really offensive anymore!" Crosses the line a third time when Coach Z puts it on.
- Strong Bad's drawing of Li'l Brudder, a ridiculously optimistic one-legged puppy, which he uses to make everyone around him cry. The concept is so over-the-top pathetic it's actually kind of funny.
- In 2006, Swedish internet meme series Knappnytt made an episode focusing on the Swedish political parties due to the then-upcoming election. When discussing Vänsterpartiet, the Swedish left-wing party, Knappen, the host, explains that the party used to be called Vänsterpartiet Kommunisterna (The Left Party Communists), but has since removed that last word from their name. "Why is that, you may ask?" Knappen says, followed by a montage of the over 217 million people that have died over the years due to genocides and other atrocities perpetrated by various communist regimes, set to Benny Hill music.Knappen: Benny Hill music makes everything funny!
- KroboProductions: "The Fesh Pince of Blair 2: Uncle Phil Yiffs in Heaven Again" is a YouTube Poop primarily about taking 3 of the most tragic Very Special Episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (specifically "Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse", "Bullets over Bel-Air" and "Home Is Where the Heart Attack Is") and making them absolutely hilarious. Highlights include Will getting shot during the title sequence, and then Carlton finishing him off because he wouldn't make him a sandwich, Will's deadbeat dad Lou coming and leaving multiple times, and Phil dying of a heart attack (complete with the Iris Out death sequence from Super Mario 64,) only to deliver a eulogy at his own funeral.Funeral conductor: I'd like to welcome you all to the memorial for Phillip Banks. Saying a few words on behalf of the departed will be Phillip Banks.
Phillip Banks: What can you say about Phillip Banks? What the heck can you say about Phillip Banks? ...okay, somebody bury this. [starts humping the coffin] - Legos 9-11 is a flash animation by Tmst, that basically has George W. Bush simulating 9-11 as if it was done with LEGO. Naturally, since it's a satire against the then-president's intelligence and the last part of it has him invade Legoland because he choked on a LEGO man through his stupidity, it very easily falls into this trope.
- Llamas with Hats: Carl's antics cross the line so many times the line pretty much self-destructs. Then he crosses it again.
- The Most Popular Girls in School is full of this.
- The characters swear like sailors, talk about sex and drugs, and are about as bratty and shallow as teenagers can be - and they're all played by Barbie dolls. And then there are a few of the lines:"I'm going to watch it in the family room, you stupid fucking abortion."
- And...Cameron: Oh, hi, Britt, didn't smell you there. How's your chlamydia circus?
Brittnay: It's fucking gone now, thanks for asking. How's your cock-eyed nipple?
Cameron: It's looking both ways. I heard you farted in biology's class and it smelled like your dad's dick.
Brittnay: Heard your fourth abortion was free! Gotta love those free punch cards! - And then there's the episode where Trisha finds a positive pregnancy test, and assumes Brittnay is the one that's pregnant. So she socks Brittnay one in the stomach because she can't let her best friend throw her life away because she got pregnant so young. "You're too young, you're too beautiful!" Brittnay exasperatedly explains that she's not pregnant. Then Mackenzie turns up. Trisha tells her about the pregnancy test - and Mackenzie socks Brittnay one in the stomach. Because Brittnay being pregnant would ruin their chances at cheer nationals. Then Shay socks Brittnay one in the stomach. ...And it turns out Shay didn't know anything about the pregnancy test, she just wanted to punch Brittnay in the stomach because Cameron asked her to.Brittnay: For the last time — I — am not — pregnant!

- Animation-Domination High-Definition made a short titled "PIKACHU GETS POKEMON RABIES". It's as disgusting and desensitizing as it sounds.
- Planet Dolan: In "What Do You Call a Male Ladybug?", Dolan thinks that cancer means "a dancer who does the can-can", so he starts doing the can-can and singing to the tune of the Can-Can song about how he's a cancer and you can be one too.
- Puffin Forest has fun with this frequently, particularily in the video "Pokemon Tabletop Ganster". A group of campus security guards beating up students is not funny, but having those guards be hired from the Italian mafia and having them beat up children so gleefully makes it hilarious. Especially with the Game Master has to veto them, or they'd start torturing two children for information.Guard: Growlithe, go for the legs! They're small, weak, and break easily.
- Red vs. Blue has many examples.
- Often related to Death as Comedy — a flashback shows a man getting beaten to death with his own skull, while screaming "This doesn't seem physically possible!".
- Or Comedic Sociopathy — in Season 7, Wash shooting Donut was a Wham Shot; in Season 17, it happens repeatedly as Donut goes through Mental Time Travel, and gets funnier with every repetition!
- A case outside those is this exchange from Season 2:Doc: I'm a pacifist.
Caboose: You're a thing that babies suck on?
Tucker: No, dude, that's a pedophile.
Church: Tucker... I think you mean a pacifier.
Tucker: Oh, right, dude, I was... totally think of something else.

- Shrapnel: Reznya using someone she is helping as a meat shield when a grenade goes off near her, and killing their friends just for insulting her would be completely terrible... if they weren’t a whole group of the controversial, "dead meme" that is Ugandan knuckles.Ugandan knuckles leader: My queen! Thank you, my queen, you saved my life!
Reznya: Oh no, you’re one of those things. Uhhhhhh, ummm... - The Sonic Zombie series. In addition to intentionally being so terrible it becomes amusing, Tails and Knuckles are such over-the-top stereotypes once Characterization Marches On and Sonic is presented as a massive douchebag that it wraps around to being funny. Then there's everything about Amy's clingyness and the in-story narrator being fixated on Rouge's breasts. Then there's the portrayal of the Werehog as a "Hornhog." Tails sums it up best in Sonic Zombie Vengeance:Tails: [looking at the screen] You say "racist," I say "funny as hell."
- This Land is Mine. Special mention goes to the children being used as bloody dominoes by the archer at 1:05.
- The Torture Game 2. Great for stress relief.
- Take this, for example: torturing a poor, innocent man to death with nails, guns, and spikes? Horrifying. Shaking the man so intensely that all of his limbs fall off? Hilarious!
- Pretty much anything on Newgrounds. Before "Everything, by Everyone.", their slogan was "The Problems of the Future, Today!"
- In "Types of Parents Portrayed by Minecraft", this conversation under "The Question Avoider":Mark: Mom, can I go to Jack's house to play?
Mark's Mom: Ask your dad.
Mark: Dad, can I go to Jack—
Mark's Dad: Ask your mom.

Mark's Dad: Use this. [tosses Mark a ouija board] - "UGLY" by the Youtuber R33MIX, a NSFW video recreation of a SpongeBob SquarePants that scene does things... Differently. It is an SFM animation of the Heavy from Team Fortress 2 asking the audience on the stage about what is going on with them and if they are afraid to look the ugliest in the face before he flashes the audience with his uncensored penis and ordering them to look at it onscreen. The audience's reactions when the Heavy's balls spring down and his penis stretches out while saying "Hi!" are funny too, including a Call of Duty soldier glitching out and the Engineer's cap flying off, the Demoman watching with a worried expression, the Spy and Scout's Mom covering their son's eyes, a Flying Koopa with dead eyes, the cardboard targets disappearing. It then does jump cuts of his blurred out penis before panning out from Heavy, we now see that everyone has left, before the screen cuts to black and the text says "Horrific Rape". It is impressive about how the video has escaped being age-restricted for at least ten years!
- Zeck Felms, an Affectionate Parody of Zack D. Films is filled to brim with Black Comedy due to how incredibly absurd its animated shorts are. Special mention goes to:
- In "She Wanted to be a Princess 🥰" A teenage boy was dating a girl who wanted to be treated like a princess. But due to the lack of funds in order to afford a fancy date or a bouquet of flowers to her, the boy took his father's Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W140) while taking the girl for a ride in hopes of winning her heart... only for him to slip on a bunch of banana peels and slam into an overpass column before both occupants are killed instantly by an oncoming garbage truck.Note
- "He Escaped Prison With a Cannon😨" has a prisoner attempting to escape a high-security prison by firing a 45 lbs iron ball chained to his leg with a cannon. But due to its weight, it ends up gruesomely ripping a chunk of the poor sod's lower leg.
- "How to Win Tic Tac Toe Everytime 😱" starts out as fairly straightfoward, showing a strategy for the viewer on how to win a game of Tic-Tac-Toe. At first, it encourages the viewer to start from a corner to double their chance of winning against an opponent. By the time the opponent start from the center, the player suddenly whips out a German sticky grenade and throws it right into the latter's face, killing the opponent in cold blood.
