MTM Enterprises^note sometimes credited as MTM Productions was a major independent producer and distributor of television programs, active from 1969 to 1998 and originally established by Mary Tyler Moore and her then-husband Grant Tinker to oversee production of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, though it quickly branched out into producing other shows.

At its peak in the 1970s and 1980s, it was one of the most powerful and successful television production studios in the world, churning out such beloved hits as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, WKRP in Cincinnati, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere and Newhart. Sitcoms (in particular Work Coms) were its stock in trade, though it did sometimes dabble into drama and even game shows, the latter especially in the 1990s.

Historically, it primarily supplied programming to CBS, though after Grant Tinker became chairman and CEO of NBC in 1981, it began supplying programming to that network to a much greater extent than before; it also occasionally supplied programming to ABC and, after its launch, UPN, and even had some brief dalliances with the First-Run Syndication market. Most of its shows were recorded at what is now the Radford Studio Center^note which it co-owned with CBS from 1985 to 1992, at which time it was known as CBS-MTM Studios in the Studio City neighborhood in northern Los Angeles, though it did occasionally record shows elsewhere.

In 1988, amidst a downturn in its production and development fortunes, it was sold to TVS Entertainment for $320 million, only to be sold again to International Family Entertainment in 1993 for £56.5 million^note approximately $86.6 million at the time after TVS lost its ITV franchise. Finally, in 1997, IFE was sold to News Corporation for $1.9 billion, and MTM and its assets were merged into 20th Century Fox Television soon thereafter.

It also briefly had a recorded music division in the 1980s, which primarily specialized in Country Music but did also dabble into R&B and Rock.

MTM's shows were initially distributed for syndication by Viacom before the rights were transferred in the early 1980s to Jim Victory Television^note also known as the syndication distributor for various Goodson-Todman game shows in the 1970s and 1980s; in 1986, MTM took back the distribution rights to its library from Victory and started its own syndication division, MTM Television Distribution, though Victory did retain the syndication rights to certain MTM shows for a time as part of a contract settlement. Today, MTM's television catalogue is owned by Disney via 20th Television (except for City, Evening Shade and You Take the Kids, which are now owned outright by CBS Studios, and The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, which is now owned by Multicom Entertainment), while its music catalogue is now owned by Sony Music via RCA Records. The rights to the shows that MTM distributed but did not produce (America's Funniest Home Videos, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Graham Kerr's Kitchen and Rescue 911) have since reverted back to their respective owners.
