Invincible Iron Man is a 2015 comic book by Marvel Comics, written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by David Marquez.
Following the events of Secret Wars (2015), Tony Stark has upgraded his armor to the cutting-edge Model 51, capable of transforming into any of Tony's old armors at will.
The first issue was released October 07, 2015. The series lasted for 14 issues, with the final issue released October 05, 2016.
Invincible Iron Man (2015) provides examples of:
- Adaptive Armor: Tony Stark's newest Iron Man armor is able to transform into any of Tony's old armors at will.
- Hero with Bad Publicity: Averted with Tony Stark - he might not be the financial powerhouse that he was, but it seems that he's recovered heavily from the Superior Iron Man incident. Even if Steve Rogers (again) is still miffed at him.
- Powered Armor: Iron Man's new suit of armor can mimic the abilities of all of his prior suits.
- Sequel Series: The series picks up threads left by Kieron Gillen's run on that title's previous volume, namely regarding Tony Stark's true parentage.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: In the first issue of the 2015 volume of Invincible Iron Man Tony dates an East Asian scientist who has invented a cure for the X-Gene. No, Tony is not putting the moves on Kavita Rao. Meet Amara Pereira, everyone!
- Riri Williams is also not very different from Lila Rhodes, Jim's engineering niece, who herself is not very different from Natasha Irons over at the Distinguished Competition.
- He also recently hired a new personal assistant who, like Pepper Potts before her, is a red-haired firebrand who has dealt with superheroes before; Mary Jane Watson!
- Technopath: Tomoe the Technogolem is a NuHuman who can psychokinetically alternate herself and others with technological interactivity. Using it to control Iron Man's armor from afar, create a personal army of Cyber Ninja, and run a quaint little criminal syndicate from the safety of her own home.
- Transplant: Mary Jane Watson, one of the most famous supporting character of Spider-Man, became a main character in Invincible Iron Man (2015), replacing Pepper Potts as new Tony's personal assistant. The same run saw Doctor Doom join the cast, as this was during the period when Fantastic Four
was no longer being published due to an embargo over movie rights. - Wham Episode: Issue #1 reveals that Doctor Doom is still alive... and his face is whole and without the horrible scars!
