Godzilla has been banished into space to a remote planet, but the danger is far from over as the King of the Monsters falls under the control of Knull, who plans to use the monster to conquer the universe and turn everybody into his symbiotes. As all heroes and even several villains from the Marvel Universe again unite against Godzilla, but end up fighting a losing battle, all hope to stop Godzilla and Knull may rest in the hands of an unlikely ally; Doctor Doom.
The series ran from February – June 2026, and will be followed by another series; Godzilla Conquers The Multiverse.
Godzilla: Infinity Roar provides examples of:
- Actually a Doombot: In #5, Knull attacks who he believes is Dr. Doom, but one good punch from Knull reveals it’s actually a Doombot he was fighting.
- Enemy Mine:
- The Fantastic Four turn to Galactus for help, and actually manage to convince him to fight Godzilla.
- Doctor Doom manages to free multiple heroes, antiheroes and villains from Knull’s symbiotes and offers them to join his side to form a new team to stop Godzilla. At the end of issue #5, this team is dubbed Avengers of Doom.
- Food as Bribe: In issue #5, Doom wants to recruit Man-Thing for his team since his help is needed to traverse the multiverse, and knowing Man-Thing likes cake, Doom has a baker from Latveria offer Man-Thing cakes as bribe.
- Godzilla Threshold: Like in the previous series, the trope is used against Godzilla; when all attempts to stop Godzilla fail and Knull infects the universe with his symbiotes through the World Tree, the worlds greatest thinkers and philosophers turn to Dr. Doom for help. Fortuantely, Doom agrees as Godzilla and Knull pose a direct threat to Latveria as well.
- Kill It with Fire: Before he goes to confront Knull and the symbiotes, Dr. Doom obtains the Flames of the Faltine from the Ancient One, which he uses to destroy every symbiote he encounters.
- Kill It with Ice: Odin attempts to kill Godzilla with the Fimbulwinter of Ymir, which can freeze whole planets.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero!: Getting Galactus to fight Godzilla not only results in Galactus being defeated, but Godzilla gaining the Power Cosmic, making him even harder to stop.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Silver Surfer has this reaction when, while fighting Godzilla, he senses Godzilla holds the Power Cosmic, and realizes Godzilla must have defeated Galactus.
- Knull has one when he thinks he has finally won, only to then realize Dr. Doom is not among the people he captured with his symbiotes.
- Robot Me: Mechagodzilla, Godzilla’s mechanical counterpart, makes his debute at the end of #4 as a weapon in Doom’s arsenal, and is brought out to fight Godzilla in #5.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In issue #1, Blackbolt is brought in to stop Godzilla, and for a moment he seemingly succeeds. But then Godzilla heals and gets back up, prompting Blackbolt to flee the scene, resulting in a huge Oh, Crap! from all Wakandan citizens who see him pass by.
- Takes One to Kill One: Doom’s ultimate plan to defeat Godzilla for good is to search the multiverse for other Godzilla’s they can recruit to fight this one.
- Too Spicy for Yog-Sothoth: In his fight with Godzilla, Galactus turns the kaiju into energy and absorbs him. Then Galactus suddenly starts coughing, and the next moment Godzilla bursts out of him.
- Villain Team-Up:
- Between Godzilla and Knull, though Knull is clearly the one in control.
- Among the characters Doom recruits for his final plan against Godzilla is Kang the Conqueror, as he needs a timetraveller.
- The Worf Effect:
- In Issue #1, Godzilla begins his new rampage under Knull’s control by laying waste to Wakanda, the country where in the previous series the heroes made their last stand against him. He tears through the country’s highly advanced military and forces everyone to evacuate.
- Issue #2, Godzillla makes short work of Gladiator, one of Marvel’s strongest heroes, King Ghidorah, who is usually one of the few kaiju that can give him a run for his money, and even Galactus.
- The Virus: While all of Asgard is distracted fighting Godzilla, Knull infects the World Tree and unleashes his symbiotes all over the universe, infecting pretty much everybody. Even Uuatu the Watcher is not safe. Only Doom manages to escape and frees some of the heroes from the Symbiotes.
