Bill
- Flying Flightless Bird: One of Bill's ambitions throughout the show is to fly, helped by the fact that in-universe, ancient ducks used to fly.
- Iconic Outfit: Bill isn't himself without his signature bowtie. This may not sound significant until you realize nearly every duck in town is naked.
- Introspective Art: Bill often paints animals and objects that are capable of flight, especially airplanes, reflecting his desires to fly.
- Odd-One-Out Protagonist: Being Aldo's best friend, Bill is the only duck in Ducktown who seeks to advance a truce with ducks and alligators, even if his fellow ducks think otherwise about his ambitions.
- Official Couple: With Bev.
- The Protagonist: Bill is the main (if not, secondary) character of each episode.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: The duck in the book is the adopted son of the gator in the book that Aldo is based off of, but the tv series has them as just best friends without a parental bond.
Bev
- Official Couple: With Bill.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: She has lipstick.
Alligators
Aldo
- The Big Guy: By virtue of being an alligator living among ducks, Aldo towers over most of the regular cast.
- Green and Mean: Subverted. Aside from occasional fantasising about eating ducks, and almost sleep eating Bill because of animal instinct, he's a pretty nice guy.
- Smart Animal, Inconvenient Instincts: Despite himself, he sometimes can't help but think about eating ducks.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: The gator that Aldo is based off of is the adoptive father of the duck that Bill is based off of in the book, but are friends in the tv series and not having a father and son bond.
