"Oh yeah!"
The Kool-Aid Man is a Mascot used in marketing for the Kool-Aid brand of flavored drink mix. Consisting of a personification of a pitcher of cherry-flavored Kool-Aid drink who is about the size of a rather large human, he's known for commercials where he dramatically crashes through walls to deliver Kool-Aid and saying "Oh yeah!" as he does so.
Tropes include:
- Big Entrance: His trademark: Smashing through walls with an "Oh yeah!"
- Bank Robbery: Kool-Aid Man helps foil some bank robbers in a 1978 commercial
. - Catch a Foul Ball: One Kool-Aid commercial
has the Kool-Aid Man catch a home run ball and give it to a kid in front of him. He then tries to high-five the giant soda bottle seated next to him but is left hanging. - Catchphrase: Says "Oh yeah!" often. By the mid-2010s, it practically became the only thing he ever says.
- Four-Fingered Hands: The Kool Aid Man has only four digits per hand. As seen in the image. Justified, as he's not human.
- Impact Silhouette: The Kool-Aid Man loves to crash through walls, and every time he does, he leaves a big him-sized imprint.
- Mascot: A personification of Kool-Aid who appears in advertising for the product.
- Phrase Catcher: In the old-school Kool-Aid commercials, kids would summon Kool-Aid Man by saying, "Hey, Kool-Aid!"
- Product as Superhero: He had his own comic book at one point, where he battled such villains as the Thirsties and Scorch.
- Stuck on Band-Aid Brand: The old-school Kool-Aid commercials, where Kool-Aid Man bursts through a wall, typically ended with:Kid 1: Your friend's cool.Kid 2: He's Kool-Aid!Voice-over: Kool-Aid brand soft-drink mix.All: Oh yeah!
- There Was a Door: His trademark is busting through walls to deliver his Kool-Aid. Probably justified, as most buildings' entrances are not Kool-Aid Man accessible. One of the commercials lampshades this; it features his mother, who at first comments how proud she is of him for now having less sugar; the commercial ends with the house shaking and a "MOM! I'M HOME!" and her saying she'd only wish he'd learn to use the door.
