Change VoiceOver Web settings (General tab) in VoiceOver Utility on Mac

Use the General tab of the Web category in VoiceOver Utility to specify what happens when a web page opens.

To open VoiceOver Utility, press Command-F5 to turn VoiceOver on, then press VO-Fn-F8.

To navigate the different tabs in Web, press the Left Arrow or Right Arrow key after you hear “Web” until you hear the setting you want to edit — like General.

Note: VO represents the VoiceOver modifier that you press with additional keys to enter VoiceOver commands. By default, you can press Control and Option together or just press Caps Lock.

When loading a new web page	Select what you want VoiceOver to do when you open a web page: Speak web page summary: Have VoiceOver speak a summary of the items on the page. The summary is based on the items selected in the Web Rotor tab of the Web category in VoiceOver Utility. For example, if the VoiceOver rotor includes headers, links, window spots and form controls, the web page summary that VoiceOver speaks might say something like “The Apple - Accessibility page has 14 headers 52 links 8 window spots 1 form control.” Automatically speak the web page: Have VoiceOver start reading a page from the beginning.
While a web page loads	Choose what you want to hear while a web page is being displayed: Speak Progress, Play Tone or Do Nothing. By default, VoiceOver speaks the percentage of the web page that is loaded.
