Create instruments with Logic Pro Sampler
You can add zones and groups to loaded instruments, or you can create a new, empty instrument and fill it with zones and groups.
The approach you take to creating your own sampler instruments is down to your needs and working preferences. You can methodically create empty groups and zones using menu commands. You can then fill empty zones with audio content, either with menu options or by drag and drop operations.
If you’re more visually-oriented, you can create all zones and groups with drag and drop operations. Editing of many zone and group parameters can also be performed graphically, or with numerical fields and menus. Creation and editing of sampler instrument zones and groups is performed in the Mapping and Zone panes.
Important: Sampler cannot directly record samples as you would with a hardware sampler. You can record samples in the Track area in Logic Pro, then drag them into Sampler.
Create a new, empty instrument
In Logic Pro, insert Sampler into an instrument channel.
Click the yellow LEDs on the Mapping or Zone buttons (or both) in the Navigation bar to turn on these panes, if not visible.
Click the Mapping button in the Navigation bar to view an empty Mapping pane that is ready for you to add audio material. You have a choice of adding audio files in either keyboard view or zone view:
