Create and collaborate on playlists

A playlist is a custom compilation of songs and music videos. You might want to create a playlist to suit a specific mood or organize your music library.

When you subscribe to Apple Music, you can also share a playlist and collaborate on it with others. Everyone can add, remove, and reorder music in the collaborative playlist.

Create playlists to organize your music

  1. Go to the Music app on your Apple Vision Pro.

  2. Tap Library in the tab bar, then tap All Playlists.

  3. Tap the New button, then tap Create New Playlist.

  4. Do any of the following:

    • Use Playlist Playground: Tap the text field, then tell Apple Music what you want to hear by describing the mood or vibe, or providing details. For example, you can enter something like “morning coffee music” and get 25 suggested tracks with a custom title.

      Customize the playlist by adding, reordering or removing tracks.

    • Create manually: Tap Playlist Title and enter a name for the playlist, then tap Add Songs and select the tracks you want to add.

  5. When you’re finished, tap the Save button.

    You can always tap Add Music again later to add more songs.

Tip: To add music from anywhere in the Music app, you can also pinch and hold a song, then tap Add to a Playlist.

Edit playlists

You can rename playlists, change the artwork, add and remove songs, and more.

Note: The host of a collaborative playlist can make any changes to the playlist. Collaborators can only add, remove, and reorder songs in the playlist.

  1. Go to the Music app on your Apple Vision Pro.

  2. Tap Library in the tab bar, then tap the playlist.

  3. Tap the More button, then tap Edit. You can make changes such as the following:

    • Add a suggested song: Tap the Add button, then tap the Add button next to a song.

    • Delete a song: Tap one or more songs, then tap the Delete button.

    • Reorder the playlist: Drag the Reorder button next to a song.

If you want to sort a playlist, go to the playlist, tap the More button, tap Sort by, then choose an option.

Invite others to collaborate on a playlist

  1. Go to the Music app on your Apple Vision Pro.

  2. Tap Library in the tab bar, tap the playlist, then tap the Collaborate button.

  3. Tap Start Collaborating, then choose a sharing method.

    To approve collaborators before they can join, turn on Approve Collaborators.

  4. To adjust settings, invite or approve collaborators, or stop collaborating, tap the Collaborate button, then choose an option.

Join a collaborative playlist

On your Apple Vision Pro, tap the link you received, then tap Join or Request to Join (if approval by the host is required).
