Choose which podcasts play next in Podcasts on Mac
You can choose which shows or episodes play next by creating a Playing Next queue, which is similar to a playlist in Apple Music. To see suggested episodes from shows that you saved, followed or recently played, use Up Next.
What’s the difference between Playing Next and Up Next?
Playing Next is a queue you create by adding one or more episodes that you choose. Up Next is a list of automatically generated recommendations based on your previous interaction with shows and episodes.
Create a Playing Next queue
Go to the Podcasts app
on your Mac.Click any option in the sidebar.
Select any episode or a show you follow.
Click
, then choose Play Next or Add to Queue.If you choose Play Next, the episode you selected (or the latest episode of the show you selected) appears at the top of the Playing Next queue. If you choose Add to Queue, the episode appears at the bottom of the queue.
Click
in the playback controls, then do any of the following:Play an episode in the queue: Click the episode.
Note: Some shows include chapters within an episode, which allow you to jump quickly to a specific part of the episode that’s playing.
Change the order of episodes you manually added to the queue: Drag
up or down.Remove an episode from the Playing Next queue: On a trackpad or Magic Mouse, swipe left with two fingers on an episode you manually added to the queue, then click Remove.
The Playing Next queue appears onscreen until you click again to close it.
Use Up Next
Go to the Podcasts app
on your Mac.Click Home in the sidebar.
In Up Next, do any of the following:
Play an episode: Click
in the episode tile.View more episodes: Click
or 
.View episode information: Click
, then click Go to Episode.View show information: Click
, then click Go to Show.Add an episode to the Playing Next queue: Click
in the show tile, then choose Play Next (to make the episode first in the queue) or Add to Queue (to add the episode to the end of the queue).Remove an episode from Up Next: Click
in the show tile, then choose Remove from Up Next. To remove an episode and mark it as played, choose Mark as Played.
