Check your voicemail on Mac

Use the Phone app on Mac to listen to, delete or share your voicemail messages. You can also check your voicemail messages when Visual Voicemail isn’t available.

If Apple Intelligence* is turned on, voicemail summaries appear below each missed call, so you can instantly see who reached out and what they said. See Use Apple Intelligence in Photos.

Siri: Ask Siri something like, “Play the voicemail from Eliza.” Learn how to use Siri.

Or without using Siri:

  1. Go to the Phone app on your Mac.

  2. Click Voicemail, then click a message.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • Play the message: Click the Play button.

Messages are saved until you delete them (or until your network provider erases them, if they’re not stored in iCloud).

    • Share the message: Click the Share button.

    • Delete the message: Click the Delete button.

Important: In some countries or regions, deleted messages may be permanently erased by your network provider. Your voice messages may also be deleted if you change the SIM card for your iPhone.

    • Add the caller to your contacts: Click Add Contact, fill in the information, then click the Done button.

To recover a deleted message, click Deleted Messages, click the message, then click the Undelete button.

*Apple Intelligence is available in beta with support for the following languages: English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese.
