Set up your Apple TV 4K on the Home app

You can add your Apple TV 4K to a room in your home on the Home app so that you can use it to control speakers, run automated scenes and monitor security cameras.

Note: Updates to the Home app in iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1 offer more reliable and efficient control of connected devices in your home when you use Apple TV 4K as a home hub. For more information, see the Apple Support article Upgrade to the new Home architecture.

Go to Settings on Apple TV 4K.
Go to AirPlay and Apple Home, then do either of the following:
- If the room you’re in isn’t already set up in the Home app: Select Room, then select a room from the list of suggested rooms, or select Add New Room and enter the name of this room.
  The room you choose is automatically added to the Home app of the default profile of this Apple TV 4K.
- If the room you’re in is already set up in the Home app: Select Room, then select the room this Apple TV 4K is in.

To remove Apple TV 4K from Home, go to Settings > AirPlay and Apple Home > Room, then select Remove From Home.

Note: When you remove an Apple TV 4K(with tvOS 26.5 or later) from Home, the Thread networking radio on Apple TV 4K is turned off to conserve energy.
